The dining room was busy as more guests arrived to spend the holidays at the ski resort. Callie much preferred that to having only a few people to wait on. Due to the sudden increase in diners and several of the staff being out due to the flu, she was doing double duty by helping Maggie as a second hostess and assisting the wait staff.
“You’re good. Have you ever thought about quitting the teacher thing and working here for the rest of your life?” Maggie teased her as Callie rejoined her at the podium.
“For about three seconds,” Callie laughed. “I decided to keep teaching. I like doing this and know I’m good at it, but teaching is what I live for, and I’m even better at that.”
