Chapter 9JoJo I fully expected Byron to say, “That’s it, kid, I’ve met the one. It’s been fun. Have a nice life.” So it was a surprise when he said, “I met someone Saturday night and we really hit it off. He’s close to my age, we’ve got a lot in common. It might really go somewhere. Is it okay if I still call you from time to time? I feel kind of invested.” I stared at the screen, observed his somewhat anxious expression, and admitted, “I do too. It’s been nice spending time with you. Are you sure? Won’t he mind?” “He says not. I’m inclined to believe him.” After a fidgety second, he said, “He asked about you.” “Oh yeah?” “Yeah. He’s new in town. Lived in New York City all his life. He’s a Broadway guy, a dancer and choreographer. He, uh, he knows a lot of people. Said he’d ask around
