I wake up and realize it was a day I could go home.
I happily jump up and realize Colten was on the floor. He groans when I accidentally step on him.
"I'm sorry." I squeak.
"It’s okay babe." He says forcefully, sitting up.
"Why so hyper?" He asks, rubbing the sleep out of his eye.
"I go home today! Your mom's coming home." I smile. Lily came in and hit Colten.
"Um, ow? What is it Lily?"
"Mommy’s home! Mommy's home!" She squealed.
She clearly rolled right out of bed seeing as she’s still in pajamas. I laugh and pulled down her sleeves and pantlegs from their scrunched positions.
"I wanna see mommy!" Lily yells.
I wince and pick her up.
"Well let’s go downstairs."
"You have yellow hair like me and mommy." Lily tells me while we walk downstairs.
"Is that bad?" I ask.
"No. You could be my sissy." She giggles.
"Would you be upset if I was?"
"No! I like you. You're nice." She nods.
"Colten's not nice? He sings to you."
"He plays dollies with me, but he takes my favorite barbie."
"Which one is that?"
"Mermaid." She giggles.
"Colten plays with mermaid barbies?" I laugh. She nods.
Before I know it, someone snatches her out of my arms.
"I do not." Colten says, tickling her.
"I don't think so Colten; I think you're lying." I poke him.
"Yeah!" Lily agrees.
Colten puts Lily down and throws me over his shoulder.
"Colten!" I yell, punching his back.
He chuckles and throws Lily over his other shoulder.
"Brother! Down!" She screams.
"This isn't funny!" I tell him. I keep hitting his back and Lily joined me.
"Yeah!" She yells.
"I'm laughing." He says.
I groan and continue hitting his back. Soon we are outside.
"I want mommy!" Lily scream.
"I wanna get down!" I yell.
"Tormenting the girls, I see." Bree laughs.
"Do you have control over him? Because he won't listen to us!" I say.
"Colten James." Bree warns.
He chuckles and puts us down.
"Meanie!" Lily says, punching his leg.
"Yeah." I cross my arms.
"Since when are you two fond of each other? Or was it falling asleep on the couch together the other night?" My mom asks.
"It was an accident. Why would I be near Colten if I didn't have to be?"
Bree and my mom rolled their eyes.
Bree picks Lily up.
"How's my girl?"
"Good."
"Have these two been mean?" She asks, smiling at me and Colten.
"No. But one day there was a spider on her shirt, so Colten had to take it off. Then he took his shirt off to kill it. Then they were doing this-" She says kissing her palm a bunch of times.
Me and Colten froze. How can a 3-year-old remember that! Let alone say it!?
Bree and my mom widen their eyes at us.
"I was scared but then brother got me milk and sent me to bed. It was scary but I'm glad it’s dead." She finishes.
"Um, honey why don't you go eat breakfast. Me and Ariana's mommy have to talk to the kids okay?"
"Okay." she says and skips off.
My mother crosses her arms and Bree follows.
"What the hell is Lily talking about?!" My mother yells.
Me and Colten stare at the ground quietly.
"I don't want to have to fire you. You're a great babysitter." Bree says. "But how do we solve this?" She continues.
"Mom can I have a word with you over there?" Colten asks. Bree rolls her eyes but agrees.
Colten’s POV
"Please don't tell me you slept with your babysitter's daughter." Mom says putting her hands on her head.
"No. Yeah we made out but it's never happened again. And I have a reason for it." "What could that be?!" "She's my mate."
"Ugh! I blame your father for this! If he wasn't a goddamn werewolf this would have never happened!"
"Leave him outta this would ya? I mean if it weren't for this werewolf thing I'd probably be single the rest of my life! I love her mom!" I yell the last sentence.
Ariana’s POV
"I love her mom!" He yell. Mom's head and mine whip to the side.
She turns me and glares.
"What's going on with him Ariana! Don't lie either!"
Oh, nothing just a werewolf claimed I'm his mate and he loves me. Oh, and I'm pulled to him in every way possible. No biggie.
I sigh and ruffle my hair.
"I don't know. I mean I like him mom! You've never been this way with Louis!"
"Louis! Where is Louis?! Are you cheating on him?!"
Well if I’m being honest, I did once.
"Don't you dare say I'm cheating! He was cheating on me with more than one girl!" I yell.
"Colten isn't the best boy in the world. He's not good enough for you-"
"Well at least not for you!" I spit, running into the house.
Colten’s POV
"I wanna be with her." I say.
"No! It really looks like she's not having it either." She says pointing to Ariana's mom.
"I don't care whether you guys like it or not! You can't keep me from my mate!"
"I can do whatever the hell I want I'm the parent!"
"Well you're sure not doing a good job!" I say.
"I do a lot for you guys!"
"No, you hire people to do a lot for us! That's it! If-" I start to say, but I saw Ariana run in the house.
I go to run in the house, but my mom grabs my arm.
"You chase her, you two are in for it."
"I already am." I say, running inside.
I look around and don't see her. I run upstairs to my room.
Ariana’s sitting in the corner crying.
"Baby don't cry." I say.
"What are we going to do?" She sobs.
"I don't know but I'm not letting them break us up okay?" She nods.
"Hey. Look at me." I say, lifting her chin up. She looks at me with those beautiful blue eyes.
"I love you." I whisper, tucking some loose hairs behind her ear.
She sniffles and wraps her arms around my shoulders, pulling me into her.
I place light kisses on her neck. She sucks in sharp breaths.
"I won't leave you okay?”
"Okay."
Kneeling in front of her, I press my lips to hers.
"Just one thing." I say, pulling away.
"What?"
"The full moon's tonight. You have to go home. I don't want to hurt you okay? I'll visit you first thing in the morning."
She closes her eyes and let her head hit the wall.
"Okay."
"Hey," I say. "I'll still be watching you." I continue.
She nods and grabs the back of my head, forcing our lips together.
