Chapter 9

1293 Words
It’s about nine when I wake up. Well, when I’m woken up and so was Colten. Ding Dong! The doorbell rings loudly. I groan. "Colten! Why do you guys have a freakin loud doorbell?" "Big house." He mumbles. "Get it." "You!" "I don't wanna get up." I groan. Ding Dong! I moan and stand up. I step on Colten's back on the floor purposely and stumble downstairs. I wipe an eye with the back of my hand and held my head while I open the door. Bridget is standing in the doorway in brown shorts and a blue camisole. She’s smiling like crazy and has a stack of Ben & Jerry's ice-cream and a bag from what I know are movies. Her smile fades when she laid eyes on me. "What were you doing?" "Sleeping." I say grumpily. She looks behind me. "Where's Colten?" She asks. "Here." He grumbles. I turn around to see that he was just in boxers. Oh my- I turn to face Bridget with wide eyes. She bites her lip and desperately looks away. Then she leans in my ear, "You are so lucky!" "I'm not." I roll my eyes. "Movie time!" Bridget squeals. I watch as Colten goes upstairs. "Let me change?" "Why?" "Fix my hair, brush my teeth like just wait!" I say, pushing her on the couch. She shrugs and sets everything up. I run upstairs and put my hair in a ponytail and brush my teeth. I decide to just lay on my bed for a bit, taking a little extra time to fully wake up. I get under my covers and shut my eyes. "Shouldn't you be downstairs?" Colten asks from right in front of me. "AH! Oh, jeez Colten what are you doing here? I sleep here." "You're supposed to be downstairs." He mumbles, as if that’s a valid excuse to be in my bed. "Night." I mumble rolling over. He drapes an arm over my stomach. "Get your asses up and downstairs!" Bridget barges in yelling. "Nice to see you too Bridget." My mom says passing her in the hallway. I crack a smile. "I'm serious! Both of you!" "Both?" Colten and I ask in unison. "Yes!" She yells. "Screw you." I mumble. "Colten maybe but not me Ariana! Downstairs!" I turn bright pink and get up. I pull Colten with me. "Fine!" He groans. He brings his comforter and follows us downstairs. Colten lays on the couch. His couch had two recliners. Colten plops on the one on the end. I plop on the recliner next to him. I really didn't want to sit up. Colten lays out his blanket and I can’t help but snatch some of the blanket. "You two are something." Bridget rolls her eyes. I stick my tongue out at her. * * * The air conditioner in this house is freaking insane! Bridget fell asleep within the fourth movie. It was only like 8:45. Colten and I sit watching some Michael Myers film. Ugh, I hate scary movies, but this was pathetic. Nothing worth getting worked up over. My teeth chatter as I snuggle closer into the blanket. Colten turns his head to look at me. "Cold?" I nod. He scoots over and throws some of his blanket on me. I get goosebumps, not from the cold, but from being so close to Colten. "Better?" He asks. I nod shyly. "Are you having a good first date?" He asks. I giggle. "Date?" "Yeah this is our first date. I like it. Do you?" He chuckles, giving me a little nudge with his shoulder. "It’s actually one of the best dates ever." I admit. He throws his arm around me. "Are you going to go back to Louis?" he asks shifting uncomfortably. I rest my head on his shoulder. "I was thinking about it honestly." "Why? Seriously, he'll just hurt you again and I hate watching him hurt you." He whispers. He shifts before speaking again. " Don't go back to him. You deserve so much more. He may look good and pure but from what I see, all he does is push you around. He’s only going to keep hurting you." I sniffle, tears coming to my eyes. "Please don't cry." He adds quickly. "He's not worth the tears. But he's just like so sweet and-" "I'm sweet. And committed. Everything he's not in a total good way." He chuckles. "I know you are." "Why won't you give me a chance then?" he says continuing to whisper. "Because I don't like you Colten." I say. "So, this," He pulls me closer. “is doing nothing for you?” "N-no." My heart rate picks up. "How about this?" He says before planting his lips on mine. And I let myself enjoy it. "You two could've at least went upstairs." Bridget says. I jump up. What just happened? "Don't act guilty I knew it was coming." Bridget rolls her eyes and lays back on her pillow. Colten pulls me back on his lap and wraps his blanket over us. "I hope you had a good first date." Colten whispers, kissing my head. I roll my eyes, "I did actually. Thanks Colten." The doorbell rings. Colten and I had fallen asleep on the couch. "Answer it." I mumble snuggling into his chest. "Leave me alone." He says. Oh God his sleepy voice is the hottest voice ever! "Fine!" I groan. I throw the blanket off me and yank my shorts from riding up. I open the door to see Louis. "Hey ba--be?" He says looking over me. "What happened to you?" "I woke up." I snap crossing my arms. "Okay. Wanna go to the lake?" He asks twirling his keys. "Who else is coming? A brunette? Another blonde?" I ask. "What are you talking about?" He asks. "Don't play dumb with me! I know about the other girls!" "What other girls?" "So, you're saynig my friends didn't see you with another girl? Never knew you had a twin.” "No! Wha-what are you talking about?" He asks, running a hand through his hair. "You're such an i***t. Whatever." I roll my eyes. Colten came up behind me and pulled my back into his chest. "What's going on here?" He asks. "Are you kidding me? What the hell are you doing here? Are you the one behind all of this brainwashing that’s gone on?" I scoff. “Brainwashing?” "Actually, Bridgit saw it too, so two makes the numbers stronger." Colton piped in. "You douche! Everything was going fine with the girls until you broke off me and Ariana!" He blurts out. I gasp. He says girls. That was plural. "Get out of here." Colten says. "No." Louis says crossing his arms. "Come on Ariana you'll never find a guy like me." "That's the point!" I snap. Colten barks out a laugh. It was a good comeback. Louis narrows his eyes. "You'll never have a good boyfriend like me." "I have one!" I say before I realize it. "You do?" Colten and Louis say simultaneously. "Yep." I say. "Who?" They say together again. "Colten." I cross my arms. "Him?" "Me?" They ask in unison. I nod and wrap my arms around Colten's shoulders and kiss him. Pulling away, I could see Louis’s jaw on the floor. "Cheating whore." He manages. I gasp. Almost instantly, I watch as Colten throws a fist at Louis. "If anyone's a cheater it's you Louis." Colten spits. He shoves Louis out of the door and slams it, making me jump slightly. Colten looks at me. "I need to brush my teeth." I say and quickly run upstairs.
