The school felt louder than usual after the morning assembly ended. voices bounced off the walls, footsteps filled every corridor, and students moved in clusters like the building itself was alive. The hallway noise didn't disappear, but it faded in her awareness like it was suddenly far away, for a moment, neither of them spoke. Julian looked at her properly now- closer than before.
