"You had to go with him to talk alone as if nothing happened, Kelsea." Cooper's face was red with anger. She should have avoided spending time alone with him. That's what they had agreed upon.

"But he is a bad man; he could have hurt you; you know very well who Carter Smith is."
Kelsea rolled her eyes, annoyed, and walked into the mansion where they lived. Cooper could be very stubborn when he wanted to.
"At some point, I was going to talk to him alone, Coop," she responded calmly, shortening his name.
"Have you asked for a divorce?" Cooper asked, walking alongside her. There were very few minutes he could stay angry with her, as Kelsea was so tender that he couldn't help but give in.
They walked up the stone path and entered the mansion where they lived. It was
