I stood before him, my heart pounding in my chest as I faced the one person who was supposed to be my other half. Alpha Gideon, the leader of our pack and the one who held my fate in his hands. He towered over me, his eyes blazing with anger as he spoke.

"I cast and bind you," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "You might stay in my pack house, but you will never be my mate."

I felt a sharp pain in my chest at his words. It was the same pain I felt every time he rejected me, every time he made it clear that he didn't want me. But I refused to let him see how much his words hurt me. I stood tall, my chin held high as I looked him in the eye.

"I never asked to be your mate," I said, my voice steady despite the turmoil inside me. "I never wanted this any more than you did. But we can't change what the moon goddess has ordained."

Alpha Gideon snarled at me, his eyes flashing with fury. "Don't you dare speak of the moon goddess," he spat. "She cursed me with you, a lowly omega, as my mate. I curse the day you were born to be my mate."

I felt a tear roll down my cheek, but I quickly wiped it away. I refused to let him see my weakness. "I'm sorry that I'm not what you wanted," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "But I can't change who I am. And no matter how hard you try, I will never accept that you are not my mate."

Alpha Gideon's eyes widened at my words, and I could sense his anger growing. "You dare to defy me?" he growled. "I am the alpha of this pack, and you will do as I say."

"I will do what is best for the pack," I said firmly. "But I will not let you dictate my heart. I will not let you control me."

He stepped closer to me, his breath hot on my face. "You think you have a choice?" he sneered. "You are mine, Stephanie. You will always be mine."

I felt a surge of anger inside me, and I stepped back from him. "I am not a possession," I said, my voice rising. "I am a person, with my own thoughts and feelings. And I will not let you treat me like a thing."

Alpha Gideon's eyes blazed with fury, and I could see the wolf inside him fighting for control. "You will regret defying me," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "I am not a patient man, I can be very cruel and dangerous, Stephanie. And I will not tolerate disobedience."

I stood my ground, my heart pounding in my chest as I faced him. "I will not back down," I said firmly. "I will not let you bully me into submission, and I believe that a day is coming. The day that you are finally going to realize you mistake."

Alpha Gideon's eyes narrowed, and I could see the wolf taking over. "Very well," he growled. "If you want to play this game, then let's play. But remember, Stephanie, you asked for this."

With that, he turned and stalked away, leaving me alone in the clearing. I watched him go, my heart heavy with sadness and fear. I knew that I had just sealed my fate, and that the road ahead would be long.

As the sun began to set, I made my way back to the pack house, my heart heavy with dread. I knew that Alpha Gideon was furious with me, and I feared what he might do next. But I refused to cower in fear. I had done nothing wrong, and I would not let him punish me for it.

But as I entered the courtyard, I was surrounded by a group of Alpha Gideon's men. They grabbed me roughly, their grip tight on my arms as they dragged me towards the Alpha's presence. My heart raced in my chest as I realized where they were taking me. The council of elders was gathered, and I knew that I was in deep trouble.

The guards accused me of being in the secret garden meant for only the Royal blood line, and I could feel their accusing gazes on me. Alpha Gideon stood at the head of the council, his eyes cold and hard as he looked at me.

"Stephanie," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "Do you deny being in the secret garden?"

I stood tall, my chin held high as I spoke. "I do not deny it," I said firmly. "But I did not harm anyone or anything. I was merely seeking solace in a quiet place."

Alpha Gideon snorted in derision. "You had no right to be there," he said. "And you knew the consequences of your actions."

He turned to his second in command, Gray, and ordered him to read out the consequences of such actions for the pack guide book. I could see the fear in Gray's eyes as he began to read. The consequences were severe, including public humiliation and even death.

Some of the elders agreed with the punishment, while others tried to reason with Alpha Gideon that I was supposed to be his mate, and that he had the power to overlook what happened. I could hear their voices rising and falling as they argued back and forth.

But Alpha Gideon was not swayed. He was determined to make an example out of me. "Enough!" he bellowed, silencing the council. "What she did was a clear violation of our laws. And the punishment is clear."

My heart sank as I realized what was coming next. I could feel the tension in the room growing, and I knew that I was in grave danger. But I refused to back down. I stood my ground, my eyes locked on Alpha Gideon's, as I spoke.

"I am not afraid of you," I said, my voice ringing out loud and clear. "I have done nothing wrong, and I will not be punished for it."

Alpha Gideon's eyes narrowed, and I could see the wolf inside him taking over. "You dare to defy me?" he growled.

"I dare to stand up for what is right," I replied. "I dare to demand justice and fairness. And I will not let you bully me into submission."

The room erupted into chaos as the council argued back and forth. "Silence!" Alpha Gideon roared, his voice echoing through the room.

The room fell silent, and I waited with bated breath for his next words. "Stephanie, I told you I don't have patience." he said, his voice low and dangerous. "You will learn to obey me, or you will suffer the consequences."

I felt a chill run down my spine as his words sank in. But I refused to give up.

With that, he ordered his guards to lock me up, and I was dragged away, my heart heavy with fear and uncertainty. But I refused to give up. I knew that I had done nothing wrong, and I would fight to prove my innocence. No matter the cost.
