>>>Stephanie's pov<<< It happens to be a bright and sunny morning, And I could tell from the weather I could tell that today has something for me. Just like I expected, the cruel Alpha Gideon, comes to visit me for the first time after he told his men to lock me up in this damn cell. His presence fills me with fear and dread. "I have some news for you, my dear Stephanie," he says with a twisted smile. "What news, Alpha?" I ask, trying to keep my voice steady. "I'll be leaving for war soon, and I won't be around for a long time," he says, chuckling cruelly. "But don't be too happy. I know that the queen mother will release you after I'm gone, but I'll be back before you know it." My heart sinks at his words. I can't bear the thought of being alone with him again, even if it's only for a short time. "And when I come back," he continues, "the war will probably be over, so I'll have more than enough time to put you in your place before leaving again." He reaches out and tries to squeeze my cheek, but I pull away, tears streaming down my face. "Don't worry, my dear," he says, his voice laced with amusement. "I'll be back before you know it." With that, he turns and walks away, leaving me alone in the cold, dark cell once again. I can't help but cry at the thought of being trapped with him again, even if it's only for a short time. The uncertainty of my future fills me with dread, and I can only hope that I'll find a way out of this nightmare soon. I turned to leave, my anger boiling over. I had just threatened the woman who is supposed to be my mate, and now I couldn't even stand to be in the same cell as her. But before I could take another step, I heard her voice behind me. "Stop," she said, her voice shaking with emotion. "Don't you dare walk away from me like this." I turned back to her, my eyes cold and unfeeling. "What do you want?" I spat. "I said what I had to say. You know the consequences if you don't listen." But she surprised me. She stood her ground, her voice growing stronger with each word. "I don't care about your threats," she said. "I don't feel any pain from your words anymore. You can't hurt me like you used to." My fists clenched at my sides. How dare she speak to me like this? "Don't be foolish," I growled. "You know what I'm capable of." But still she refused to back down. "I'm not afraid of you," she said. "I won't let you control me any longer. You can't make me do anything I don't want to do." I took a step closer, my anger boiling over. "You think you're so strong?" I sneered. "You think you can stand up to me? You're nothing without me, Stephanie. You'll never survive on your own." A tear rolled down her cheek, but she refused to break her resolve. "I don't need you," she said. "I can make it on my own. And I will." I couldn't stand it any longer. I lunged at her, my hands reaching for her throat. But then I heard a commotion outside, the sound of swords clashing. The warriors were ready to leave for war. "What's going on?" I demanded, my eyes darting back and forth between Stephanie and the warriors. "Alpha," one of them said. "The war is about to begin. We need to leave now." I hesitated for a moment, my mind racing. I couldn't let her go, not like this. But the warriors were waiting. I turned and strode out of the room, leaving Stephanie alone with her tears. As I walked away, I realized that I had lost her. And I knew that, no matter what happened in the war, I could never make things right between us, but I don't either, I don't care if she lives or dies. ******** As I stood before my gathered gammas, my closest warriors and weaponeers, I knew that the moment had come to deliver some tough news. The first set of our warriors were losing the war, and we could not afford to let that happen. We had to join the rest of our comrades on the battlefield, and we had to do it soon. I took a deep breath and looked around at the faces before me. They were all tense, their eyes locked on mine with fierce determination. They knew what was at stake, but they needed to be reminded of it nonetheless. "Gammas," I began, my voice ringing out across the room. "Our brothers and sisters are fighting for their lives out there. We cannot let them down. We must join them and fight with all our might." A murmur of agreement echoed through the room, and I could feel the energy and determination in the air. But I knew that it was not enough. We needed to do more than just show up on the battlefield. We needed to be ready for anything, and that meant training all night without rest. "We will be moving out in a few hours' time," I continued. "And until then, we will train. We will train all night if we have to, because we cannot afford to lose this war." A few of the gammas groaned at the prospect of training all night, but I knew they would do it. They were my private warriors, the best of the best, and they would do whatever it took to win this battle. "Questions?" I asked, opening up the floor for any concerns or inquiries. One of the gammas raised his hand. "What if we have to go to the bathroom during training?" I couldn't help but chuckle. "Go ahead and take a break, but don't take too long. We've got a war to win." I paused for a moment before I continued. "If you got a mate and children to see before we move, you have got to do that now, we are moving together, and I wouldn't like to leave anyone behind." Another gamma spoke up. "What if we get hungry?" "We've got plenty of rations to keep us going," I reassured him. "But don't let it distract you from your training, we should know are main focus and what we are going to the battle field to do." I said it out loud. "We are not up against some toys, we are at war against vampires, one of the most deadliest creatures in the university, so let's us try to be focused." The gammas nodded, and I could see the determination in their eyes. They were ready for this. They were ready to fight, to win, and to make me proud. I began to prepare my own weapons, checking and double-checking everything to make sure that they were in perfect condition. The gammas followed suit, checking their own gear and making last-minute adjustments. As the night wore on, we trained tirelessly, pushing ourselves to the limit and beyond. I could feel the exhaustion creeping up on me, but I refused to give in. We had a war to win, and I would not let my gammas down. As the first hint of dawn began to appear on the horizon, we gathered our gear and headed out to join the rest of our comrades on the battlefield. We were ready. We were prepared. And we were determined to come out on top: but little did we know what the vampires had installed for us at the battlefield.
