Bella usually goes home with her other colleagues. Not that there's a lot of them, but. It was still really fun to be going home together with the others. “I am really annoyed with Boss Gabriel. Why did he ask me to finish a lot of paperwork today?” Bella said out loud in total misery. She couldn't help but look behind her back because she started feeling a bit scared of being all by herself. There's this gnawing feeling that somebody is looking at her.She walked into the hall hurriedly to get to the elevator. But it seems like today is that kind of day for Bella because it's under construction. She sighed, she swore that it was still okay 3 hours ago, defeated. She turned to the other side of the hallway where the emergency exit was. The building where they were working is only a 2-storey building. The ground floor is where the receiving area and sales office are,while the 2nd floor is the production area.The copy of published and unpublished books are also in there.That's her favorite place because she really loves the smell of new and old books. Bella was about to open the door to the exit when suddenly she was startled by somebody's hand touching her arm. She almost almost had a heart attack right there and then. "Are you out of your mind, you will give me a heart attack here?!" Bella spat out the words without knowing who she was talking to. She turned to face the person who appeared out of no where. Bella had to look up, since the guy was taller than her. She blushed furiously when she saw that somebody was actually her boss. He immediately let go of her, when he saw how bright red her face had become. “I'm sorry that I almost gave you a heart attack. I was just trying to play around with you," Gabriel, touched the back of his neck sheepishly "I thought this was the right time to ask you if you could go out with me. It's the weekend and this is the chance that we could get to know more about each other.” He then leaned closer to Bella. “I would love to go out with you with the others, Sir Gatchalian, but right now I just wanna be in the sanctuary of my house.” she responded with a more collected tone of voice. Bella stepped back to have space between them, since Gabriel was trying to get closer to her. She felt the cold wall behind her back. This situation was making her feel uneasy. She unintentionally scanned the hallway to check if somebody was still with them. She is doomed! There's no one around and she doesn't hear any other person. But she knew that there was still a guard on duty every night. Although that guard is only available at the entrance of the building. Gabriel is a very attractive guy in his 30s, tall about 5'11, fair-skinned, chinky eyes, with a delicate nose and he has those perfect sets of teeth that could land him a career in the toothpaste industry.Also, he always has this good-smelling look in him. And on top of his looks, he is rich too, since he owns the publishing house where she works as the marketing assistant. But Bella was not interested in being in any relationship so far. She is one of the members of "The NoBoyfriendSinceBirth Club”, but then she would rather stay in that status than to have her heart broken. She was trying to compose herself because she was starting to shake a bit. She would never guess that she would be in that kind of situation. "At least, let me walk with you out." Gabriel said in a defeated voice. "Or would that make you feel uncomfortable?" He looked at her with pleading eyes. It would really break his heart if she said no to his request. Bella's features softened, her shoulders were now more relaxed. " Yes!We can go out together." She gave him a small smile. Gabriel led the way and opened the exit door. "Thank you, I don't understand how the elevator stops working. Did anything happen earlier?" Bella broke the growing silence. She really doesn't want the circumstances to be more awkward as they are. "Must be the heat. I didn't get any reports regarding the elevator." He shrugged his shoulders. Their voices are echoing on the fire exit staircase. They were walking side by side this time, since the stairway is a bit wide. "I thought you were already home. I saw you waving goodbye to us early this evening."she looked at him and missed the last step. Gabriel was able to grab her arm before she almost lost her balance. "Be careful, Bella." He said in dangerous tone. Gabriel was holding her in his arms. She was shaken by her stupidity that she wasn't able to say any words. Her mouth gaped. She looked up at him and found that he was looking down at her closely. Bella swore she saw fire in Gabriel's eyes. "You're making things hard for me," Gabriel said, before letting her go out of his arms. He opened the door for her. Bella started blushing furiously when she realized the double meaning. She followed him hurriedly. And she could now see the guard who was standing up straight when he saw his boss coming out. "Good evening Sir and Ma'am, you're going home late tonight, ha."Said the guard on duty while giving us this knowing smile. Bella offered him a small smile and said good evening too, while Gabriel just nodded his head to the guard. They walked together towards the parking area where the exit was. Gabriel turned to face Bella.
