HARRIET'S POINT OF VIEW
Nagpatuloy ang klase tulad ng dati. Parang normal lang na walang ibang nangyari na kakaiba.
Pero, sa pagpasok namin sa cafeteria. Ang tahimik at maayos na kapaligiran sa silid-aralan ay napalitan ng kaguluhan ng pumasok na sila ni Dark sa loob.
"Wow is that Dark and Henrietta? They looks so perfect together!"
"Sabi ko sayo, hindi ba? Bagay na bagay silang dalawa."
"Hindi ko akalain na demi-human pala si Henrietta. Kung alam ko lang..."
"Dude! She's so pretty and sexy!"
"It's also said that she is actually President T's long lost child."
"Damn! She is so perfect especially that she is the last year's top one."
"She really is a Top."
Halos magpanting na ang tenga ko sa mga bulung-bulungan sa loob ng cafeteria. Especially when they mentioned thay guy's name.
"Are you okay?" Dark asked me.
Dark started to care for me when Master came to my house to make my room be like a refrigerator. He hid from Crow because of unknown reason. He also cooks some exotic foods that in my surprise, I really fond. Master didn't complain yet I feel that he is happy with us being together.
But... When did Dark started to approach me like this?
The first time I saw him, he is so arrogant and unkind. He is impatient and blunt. But I can't bring myself to hate him. Instead, I liked him.
I liked him as a friend.
"I'm okay. It's just that, my back is itchy. I'm afraid another relapse will come." I complained.
Every month, there are two to three relapse. Every time I have relapse, I can feel change from inside and out. From my ears, eyes, haid and now, my back. What the hell is happening to me actually?
"What do you want to eat? I'll buy you some if it can help the heat away." He proposed.
"S-something cold. Something that made of ice or mint would be fine."
After this incident happened to me, I started to like cokd places and food. After eating Dark's foods, I started to like minty-flavored foods. I feel so weird because this is actually the folds I hate before.
Is this because of my changes?
Dark nodded and run through the counter to buy lots of puddings and parfaits. Then he bought himself some steak and fruit juice.
"Are you waiting for your boyfriend?" A girl asked to me. Sa pagkakatanda ko, ang babaeng ito ay kilala sa pangalang Valerie.
Nakatayo siya sa harapan ko. Bahagya akong nakayuko.
Dahil sa mga pagbabago ko, pati ang height ko ay naapektuhan na. I am now 6'3" from 5'4". I am at the same height as Dark now.
"You looks so perfect together." The girl with black raven hair added. I believe her name was Bernice.
"Thank you."
'Shoot! Did I just admit that— no! I just need to act and follow what we just agreed.'
"I believe that you didn't approach me just to say this, right?"
They look stunned that confirmed my guess. They did approached me for a reason.
"Uhm. I will make my face thick just once." Valerie heaved a sigh and said, "I beg you to help Bernice to Crow!"
I'm stunned for a moment. But I recovered when I felt Dark's presence.
"Crow? What business do you have with him? And why must I help you?" I asked her straight.
"I like Crow. And you must help me or else... Or else..."
"Or else, what?" I asked coldly. "You like my friend yet you are threatening me?"
"I will make you suffer if you don't help Bernice!" Valerie screamed.
Everyone's attention was transferred to us. Especially Bernice who is looking at the ground in red face.
"How shameless they are."
"Yeah. They are digging their own grave by threatening President T's child."
"What is the connection of Henrietta and Crow Philips?"
"They said that they are close friends."
"Really?"
"Poor Bernice, she will be doomed for sure."
Sa ikalawang pagkakataon, napuno na naman ng nakakarinding ingay ang buong kapaligiran. Nilingon ko si Dark na matiim na nakatingin sa akin. Nalipat sa hawak niyang tray ang tingin ko at walang pasabing iniwan ko sina Valerie para kumain sa tabi ni Dark.
Nanunuyo na talaga ang lalamunan ko. At habang nanunuyo, nararamdaman ko na naman ang init mula sa loob ko.
Nakangiting inabot sa akin ni Dark ang pagkain ko. Masaya ko namang kinuha iyon at nagsimula sa pagkain ng mga iyon.
"She looks so happy with Dark."
"That close friend stuff is legit indeed."
"I envy Dark for having her."
"Eat well. Don't mind what they are saying, okay?" Malambing ang boses na sinabi Dark.
Bahagya akong natigilan at napangiti ng lihim ng mapansin ko ang mga pagbabago ni Dark sa akin. Masaya akong tumango at nagpatuloy sa pagnamnam ng tamis at lamig ng mga pagkain.
"Dark." Tawag ko sa kaniya.
"Hum?"
"I want to leave here." Pabulong kong sabi.
Ramdam ko na natigilan rin si Dark sa mga sinabi ko. Pero hindi ako nagpakita ng anumang pagsisisi sa mga sinabi ko. Lahat ng mga sinabi ko ngayon ay totoo.
Gusto ko ng umalis dito.
"I want to go somewhere that is full of colors. I want to go to a place that is peaceful and quiet. I want to go to a place that... I can live a happy life." Pangangarap ko.
Naaalala ko pa ang mga panaginip ko na para akong nasa ulap sa lamig ng hangin, walang hanggang katahimikan at mainit na yakap ng mahal ko sa buhay.
Gusto kong magpunta sa lugar na iyon. Pero... Hindi ko alam kung saan iyon.
Napapaisip ako kung pangarap lang ba iyon o totoo. Pero kung ang mga iyon ay pangarap lang, magpapatuloy ako para lang mahanap ang lugar na iyon na matatawag kong paraiso.
"Do you know a place like that, Dark?" Tanong ko sa kaniya.
"Why? Do you want to live there with... Crow?"
"No. I want to live there with Master. His time is numbered. I want to find that paradise for him so that he can rest in peace. Don't you think it is a good idea?" Pangangarap ko.
"We will see if there is a place like that."
"That's very kind of you. Thank you." I leaned closer to him and gave him a peck on his cheek.
I saw him blushed that made me giggle. I return to my seat and continue savoring the food he gave me.
If dreaming is all I can do in this lifetime, I will strive hard to dream for more so that I can leave this place with no regrets.
