~Eleanor~
The footsteps of the servants faded away from the room. I stood there, the blood running in my veins freezing.
Was this what clubbing was all about? You get f****d by some man out there and then call it having fun, huh? So this has been the life Estelle lived, yet my parents praised even her footsteps.
My skin itched. I can't imagine myself getting f****d by such a w***e we call the alpha king. And that finger stuff? What the hell does he really mean by that? He would dip his finger into my…..
No way! No hellish way!!
“It's gonna be fun. I would love to hear how you moan, too.” He ran his tongue over his lips and turned instantly. “Come on to your alpha, wolfless mate.”
Those two last words….
Why was he taking a wolfless mate to get f****d by him in the club? I couldn't just predict, but hearing him call me that ached my chest more than when my family calls me like that.
“But my wolf is awakened. I'm no longer wolfless.” I didn't even know where I got the might to challenge him. He's the alpha king, and even if he calls me a demon, I should accept it, right?
He halted midstep and turned casually to me, his expression emotionless. “Does that make you have a rank? Your family are betas, which are you? If you tell me, I'll accept that you aren't wolfless.”
My shoulder collapsed.
He was making sense.
Regardless that my wolf is awakened, I still don't know my rank. Was I a beta like my family? Or lower than them?
“I'm sorry!”
“You don't have to, because there are so many ways of you paying for your sins,” he gestured and resumed his walk.
I didn't say a thing, just followed him to the car.
The guard opened the door and I first stepped in, then he followed.
Sitting beside him was like being in hell. I clamped my legs together, my heart racing beyond my control.
The car moved ahead, the sky already covered in darkness. I noticed the man on the steering wheel was the one who took me out of the cell, and indeed I had guessed right…he was the alpha king's beta.
There was something about him that always stirred my wolf. His aura makes my wolf whimper, whereas it was supposed to feel that way for our mate. Or, wasn't I truly the Alpha's mate? Was it Estelle?
I swallowed hard.
Life would become so tough if Estelle happened to be his real mate. My wolf said we were his real mate, but I doubted it, or this thing I felt should have been for him.
What does it mean if I ended up being mated to his beta? Such a thing shouldn't even happen…that would worsen matters.
All I wished was that I was the real mate…even though my instinct was saying otherwise.
He said nothing to me, nor did I. His eyes were glued only to his cell phone.
I stared at his sharp jaw, the tattoo on his arms…
Alpha Devereux! His name alone sounded like a danger.
Only when the car stopped did he look up, then turned off his phone screen. “That was so fast…” he muttered and turned to me. “Would love to take a look before joining me? I don't follow people around…”
I licked my lips and nodded. That little time would do well to let me think straight.
Besides, it was my first time in the club, so I needed to see what it looked like and what happened there.
“The guards will keep an eye on you,” he said, and heaved a big sigh. “And if you escape?”
One thing I hadn't thought of…he just reminded me of it. I could do that, right?
But he grabbed my arm, his thumb caressed my flesh.
My heart throbbed while I awaited what he was up to, and the next thing was a slice of pain cutting through my chest. My breath caught in my throat as I tried to hold back my groans.
He dug his finger into my flesh and drew out blood…and the next thing, he licked the blood and sealed off the cut with his alpha ability.
“What….”
He clicked the door open, shutting me up.
I stared at my arm. What did he just do to me? Of what use was that?
“Step out,” he commanded, and I almost flew out of the car. “This place is as dangerous as hell, so watch your back.”
I stiffened, my lips agape as I watched him disappear from my sight.
Of course, I've read in books secretly what a club looks like, so I wasn't expecting less than that. I hadn't stepped my feet in it, but I could recall everything I read, so everyone in these premises now is a demon to me.
My eyes landed on the guards who stood at my sides, but they never uttered a word. That beta had left with him, so it was just the guards with me. I knew having them with me would give me limits, so I thought of a way to distract them.
I moved further and further, until I entered the club building, but not the exact entrance that the alpha king took. There were people there as well, standing, dining, sitting, laughing, and whining to the sound of music that reverberated across the walls.
My eyes moved from one corner to the other.
There were strippers, ladies almost naked.
I didn't stop but walked deeper. There, I saw ladies and men playing drafts. What I wanted to undo from my eyes were the two ladies moaning against each other, their kisses deep and possessive.
“Lesbians. Do they truly exist?” I mumbled and looked away. All these, I read in the book, but didn't believe they existed in this pack created by the moon goddess. Weren't all these sins against the goddess? Yet she is bent on making my life so miserable.
I took a long walk and landed myself in a hall filled with people. A lot were dancing, and men and women clung to each other. On the stage were strippers rolling around the pole with their string panties barely covering their p***y.
Everything I laid eyes on was disgusting, but what I hated most was a gender dominating over the same gender. It irritated me that my wolf couldn't help but growl at me.
With how crowded the hall was, I wondered if the alpha king was there too. I turned backwards, and didn't see the guards that had been with me.
Did they stop following me as I entered here? If so, then the alpha king would certainly be here.
I dodged different bodies not to get quaked and lost my balance on the heel, but after several pacing about, I still didn't find him.
If we were bonded, I could have traced his scent, but I was just left to search for him with my human abilities.
The heels started hurting, and I was pushed to pull them off, but frightened by what he would do to me, I managed to walk, my legs and ankle joint hurting slightly.
I looked up to see a small gathering of men with a huge table in their middle. The men there had alpha auras, and something in me made me believe he would be there.
As I was about to shift the lady before me and pass, someone stumbled upon me and I felt something hot on my skin, soaking my dress.
My lips dropped in shock. I looked up to see the man who was wincing before me, the glass slipped from his palm and shattered.
“Hey, look what you did to me?” I scolded him, glancing at the stain his wine had made on my dress. “What…what is wrong with you?”
He shook his head and then maintained his posture. “Pardon me, damsel. I stained your clothes.”
I hissed out and tried to pass by him, but he grabbed me by my arm.
“I could get you a new dress, okay. You don't have to look that way here.”
Before I could process it, he pulled me back forcefully, and I slammed my arm on his chest.
“Let's go. I'll be real quick.”
“No! Don't worry about it. I can sort myself out.” I tried to pull out, but his grip was too strong. Wouldn't it be better if Alpha sees it rather than changing into another dress given by a man? “You heard me well. Let me go!”
The ones around us stopped dancing and began staring, yet this man hurled me like I was nothing through the crowd.
“You're hurting me. When did it become mandatory to take things from people? I said I'm okay…” I yelled, but he turned a deaf ear.
And I hated that neither of the guards was in sight. Were they just outside?
“You don't reject gifts from alpha kings. I could make you my mistress,” he said, and scoffed deadly.
An alpha king? He is, too? What is even wrong with these people?
He pushed me into a particular room where only a few men were. Dread washed over me.
“What are you up to? Is this where to get a dress? I also came here with an alpha king, so could you at least respect him?” My voice rose at each word.
He snorted as if I were making a hell of a noise. “You came with Devereux, right?”
He knew that I came with him? Yet he was doing this?
“This is what it takes to be beside him…..” he added and pulled out his jacket.
I stepped backwards and carefully pulled out my heels. At this point, I was going to smash his face with the shoe heel, and I didn't care.
“Just for a few minutes, and you can go back to him.”
“Don’t come closer. Do not dare!!” I screeched, my heart wavered, but my fingers gripped the shoe with utmost might, ready to strike at once.
