Throughout that day, I wasn't myself. Who could believe that the man who almost hit me was the alpha king? Was it that no one around knew he was the pack's ruler?

He didn't look like one. He looked like some secret agents that guard the rich.

I crouched my legs towards my chest, seated in my little room. My mind wandered about what I had been told.

“Your face would be covered with a veil as per the pack's custom. Do not try to see who he is until you enter the palace. If you ruin it, you will meet your demise finally.” My mother had threatened me later on.

Why would I ruin it? As much as I'm scared of replacing my sister, I also want to leave them. If staying away from my devilish family will give me a little percent of peace, it would be preferable.

All I knew was that there was no way I'd be presented as the alpha king's Luna, even if he finds out the truth and throws me into the dungeon, since I had no enemy there, I would certainly meet someone who would love me at least.

Everyone was asleep. It was just me, deep in thought.

Tomorrow was the day—the day I would be handed over to a devil as Luna in replacement of my twin sister. It sent chills down my spine each time I recalled it, but I also wanted to leave.

I sat there, unsure how I dozed off, only to be awakened by a hot slap across my face.

That was it…the hell I always pass through.

Every day came with one problem or the other.

“It's past eight, yet you are still asleep? What bride does that?”

Estelle—it was her. She would always thunder as if she were the ruler of this pack. If she ever becomes Luna of the pack, the masses would regret ever allowing her to be crowned.

“Stand up and get out of here. I'll finally use this room as my packing store.”

While rubbing my palm across my cheek, I hauled to my feet, gave her a sharp look, and let out a loud hiss.

“What did you just do?” She tried to stop me with her command, but I ignored her and made my way to the door. “Elea!!!”

Fuck her!

What if that alpha doesn't treat me that bad like they think? Then I'll probably deal with them. I'll make them crawl to my feet and I'll kick their chest so heavily—even my parents.

The moment I stepped out of my room, I was met with two housekeepers who took me downstairs. I was freshened up by them, treated like I was valuable for the first time, and then dressed up in a long white flowing gown.

My face was covered with a non transparent veil. That way, no one will know that it was actually me.

“Lead the way, dear.” my mom ordered one of the housekeepers and we left the building. The veil was transparent from the inside as I could see clearly, but no one could see the face behind the veil.

We drove to a place, not the palace, but kind of a place for a small wedding like mine.

There, my dad signed an agreement with the alpha king, and instantly, I was taken away by his men.

No ring.

No vows.

Just the signed agreement.

I was indeed a commodity.

Sitting in the car, I didn't utter a word. It looked like my lips were sealed up. My heart throbbed harder against my ribcage.

What will be my fate from now on? How would my life turn?

Right now, I will have no friends. Rianna can't be allowed into the palace, so I'd be alone.

I turned and glanced at the man sitting beside me. He had a contorted face, jaw tightened. He was a guard, dressed in black suit and dark glasses as well, but the man who stepped out of the car to warn me the other time had a kinda expensive and quality cloth on.

There were two of them which I sat between, then the driver and the other man beside him too.

“The alpha king isn't here. Is there another car after us? Or he left?” I thought, my heart hammering in my chest.

My fingers tangled the gown. Anyone who looked at my fingers could tell that I was so nervous.

“Relax! Your husband isn't what you think….” the man at my right hand side whispered to me as if he read my mind.

The other added, “And why don't you have a wolf?”

Just that question—a lump formed in my throat.

Estelle had a wolf. A beta.

“The alpha king's Luna can't be wolfless, and he couldn't possibly buy a wolfless female.”

“It's left to them.”

I bit my lower lip.

The truth was already about to explode when we weren't even at the palace.

I prayed to the moon goddess that they wouldn't go against the pack custom and lift my veil. And just like that, the car stopped and the door was flung open.

“Step down…”

The man at my right side lent me his hand, helping me down from the car.

There were ladies, maybe palace servants, all lined up.

As I approached, one of them rushed behind me and lifted my gown to ease my steps. They split by two, half behind me, and the rest after me.

I didn't bulge. I had my shoulders high as if everything was alright, while deep inside me, I knew everything would shatter tonight. The palace would be on fire, and I would be the cause.

They led me into the building which I didn't have a better look at, then into a particular room where candles were burning. I was seated in the middle of the candles, my heartbeat increasing at every given second.

“Alpha king will be here soon. Please be patient.”

Just like that, they all left and I was finally left alone.

My body became hotter. I wanted this phase to come and pass by quickly.

Time ticked.

I couldn't predict how long I sat, but my ass was already hurting when the door clicked. Footsteps approached. It was calm, as if everything was the way it's supposed to be.

One could actually hear the sound of my heartbeat.

He reached closer and cleared his throat.

Here—right here, he is supposed to undress me and we make out as couples. I know, he needs a child, so there was no way he would refuse it. But, if he finds out I am not Estelle…..

“You are my commodity…” his voice came, low and dangerous, then I felt his hand raising the veil slowly. “....but to others, you will still be Luna.”

BOOM!

The veil was taken away from my face.

My belly twisted into a knot. My chest clenched in fear.

“What?”

I couldn't even look at him. The hair at the back of my neck stood erect.

“How come? You…..” he pointed fingers at me. “My beta almost hit you the other day. What the hell are you…..

His hands clenched into fist.

I managed to look up to him only to meet his darkened eyes. “Please…” the words escaped my lips before I could hold it.

He jerked to his feet. “You are wolfless. You don't look like her in any way. She is a beta, and not some skinny thing like you.”

“She's my sister. Estelle is my twin sister.”

“And so? Is that what your father and I agreed upon?” he scoffed, running his finger in his hair. “Seriously? Your father dared to deceive the alpha king? The audacity……

I stood up, tears stung at the side of my eyes. I wanted to plead, to calm him, but of what use would it be?

His face had turned red, teeth gritting against each other.

I was dead meat already.

“Trust me, I'll play a nice role as your…..

“Shut that f*****g thing you call a mouth. How do I have someone who lost some nuts days ago as my Luna? How could I trade for such a female? Do you know the amount of money I loaned your father in exchange for having his daughter?” his voice rose at each word.

Hot ball of tears flowed down my cheeks.

This was it….what they wanted to happen.

“By the time I'm done with you and your family, the other masses will learn a big lesson from it.”

I fell to my knees. I did nothing. I know nothing. How could I suffer in their place?

But my feelings were reversed instantly. I felt something snap in me like the other time. That feeling as if something was crawling out of me.

Then, a menacing growl….

Another growl….

My eyes grew wide. Hands clutched to my chest.

My wolf? I have a wolf?

He creased his brows, staring at me like he lost something.

A submit. My wolf whimpered, submitting to the man before me.

“Mate!”

I blinked. This can't be!

“Mate!!!”

I shook my head, lips trembling.

No way! Estelle is his mate!

“f**k moon goddess! That b***h can't ever be serious. How will I be mated to two sisters?” his voice snapped through the room, and then he turned, stepping closer to me.

I tasted bitterness. What was he up to? To snap me to death?

His eyes were narrowed—like it was death itself.
