The Silver Lining

Jatin’s p. o. v. As we brought up we’ve always been together. We don’t agree on same things usually but at one point we agree wholeheartedly and that is one chair for this room. I am not a big fan of physics but this theory set to our point of you i.e. The only shape with equal distribution of force through periphery is a circle and a circle can have just one centre. If we forcefully impose a second one it will alter the shape and there will be notches and that is unbearable for me if I am going to run this company. Two different people with different mindset can never be on centre. If we consider the case of our father their centre was their foundation. They think alike and as I knew their opinions were always same but we were different from our childhood. She took economics and law and I was in commerce and management. She is an expert of market values and I am good as hell in strategic plans. Anara is bossy one between the two of us and I speak only when it’s more needed, usually to support her opinion. But I want everything differently, I want to argue with her on opinions again and in this situation we can’t afford things like these. So we came up with a plan If we come up with a more suitable person for this post we can run this company on one power centre and two support. We can argue on things and come up with better solutions. We can freely inspect things and the list go on. Today’s meeting’s agenda was to come up with new projects so we can prove our eligibility as this post in front of board meeting. But we two had our secret agenda hidden in it and that was to search the person we want the most. So when she called for her being an optimistic I was hoping that our search would be completed today and we can prove our point with her in these two months. But when I seen that little bundle of innocence I felt the difficulty of our task. She was like a dried flower one hard blow of wind and all the petals would be scattered but on the same time there was a glint of courage and confidence in her eyes and that gave me hope. We have to nurture those two to make her tough. Better for her to be a fast learner, we are going to be hard on her; at least I am. When we sent her to prepare for meeting we were going to have I looked at Anara who was looking dissatisfied by this new girl’s appearance, but I assured her. I do really think that she can do the job but to do so there was a struggle ahead and for that I was thinking to buy more time and delay the meeting but that was not in my hands and if I have to do so I would need a big reason to do so. In all these things to do the most prior one was to prepare her and for that we have to be sure on ourselves that she can do it. After sometime we all( me, anara and planning officers) sat in meeting room and waited for her to give an introducing brief about her project so we can start discussing it’s activation. She started her briefing with her presentation on projector. She briefed that long detailed project within 5 minutes so fluently, leaving all unnecessary details behind that I was stunned. All her shyness and hesitations were gone somewhere far when she started presenting and I was some kind of lost in her bright sparkling blue eyes. When briefing was completed I looked at Anara, she also looked impressed and when I asked with questioning eyes she nodded and the meeting began. We asked about every process which was needed and every problem or difficulty we probably could get and she answered every one of them with detailed plans and information all in that one presentation which was looking a simple one when we started this meeting but as it gone on it looked more complicated and practically loaded with information. We got every practical reason for this project to go on and at last we have to give it a green flag. Even the planning officer from earlier was stunned by her performance here. At last we all stood up and Anara announced to all of us come earlier the next day for what we need an action plan and It have to be done as soon as possible because this project was going to be a ground thing for upcoming board meeting. It was then the new girl disrupted her _ -          “Excuse me..! ma’am.” She kind of whispered. -          “What…?” Anara asked in scowling tone and raised eyebrow. This girl literally got some guts to disrupt  anara and now she can lose her recently gained good graces. -          “If you may look at once I made an action plan today after the meeting. It may save our time.” she said firmly. At first Anara was to deny her offer but then at matter of saving time she agreed and this saved the girl from a huge crisis. Things are going to be fun with these two having around and I am going to enjoy this. Next we all sat back on our seats and she started to show her action plan. The action plan was quite impressive for a newbie like her but some specific details were missing as she was unable to fill them due to authoritative deficiencies. -          “We can move forward with it” said i. -          “ Including minor changes” added Anara. -          “So now we can call it a day and tomorrow we will meet here first” I kind of announced. -          “And I want everyone of you with adding suggestions with this action plan and she will be planning officer for this project as she can do justice with her plans better. Any objections…?” Anara ordered. All planning officers nodded suppressing their disagreement. -          “Now all dismiss”. Everyone got out including us except Ms. Reynolds. After some time she also came out with an old looking laptop in her hand. -          “You are going home like that?” Asked I. -          “No. I have my belongings on my desk I’ll gather them first.” She answered in a low voice looking down. She looked on her watch and worried for a while. I glanced on my watch it was 8:00 PM. -          “It’s late. How do you go home..?” -          “By bus.” -          “Now it’s too late to catch a bus I’ll drop you.” -          “No sir. I’ll manage. Buses runs till 9 o’clock on my route home I’ll be fine.” -          “Just then Anara came out.” -          “What’s the matter?” -          “I’m going to drop her home but she is denying. It’s already late and she have to go by bus.” -          “Is there any problem about him dropping you?” (Now she is on negotiation.) -          “No but it’s my daily routine I’ll go by myself.” This girl is really stubborn. -          “Are you uncomfortable in him dropping you.” (That was off guard but She nodded swiftly in agreement. even that could be a reason to deny…?) -          “Ok fine my driver is going to drop you and it’s final no excuses.” (sometimes I really like her bossy nature.) -          “But how do you ….?” she decided to disrupt her again but had been cut by her. -          “He will drop me. Don’t worry about that. Just meet me in parking in 5 minutes. Now hurry.” She hurried towards lift and we followed. We all hoped into lift she exited on her floor and we got down to parking. There she called her chauffer and instructed her properly. When Ms. Reynolds came down she sat her in car and the car went. Then we took mine and I climbed to driver seat Anara sat on passenger seat. -          “You sat here without an argument. Am I dreaming…?” I said jokingly. -          “Today I have more important topics to discuss about, so stop this and let’s go”. She snapped. I started car and in a while we were on road. She was thinking something deeply so I started the conversation. -          “So the silver lining is there, we should expect the rain soon.” I said in our terms. -          “If we are expecting then we have to work tirelessly on fields.” -          “yeah! that’s true.” I said with a sigh. -          “I am planning to take her out for this weekend.” -          “For what?” (Is she going to punish her or what…. but she is not like punishing people.) -          “As you can see she is a fast learner when we think about work but there are other things concerned when we are going to launch her like that.” (Like what…? I was going to ask but dropped the idea instead…) -          “I agree. But how you are going to do this?” -          “I can teach her about how to be social bird and how to order around. And there is a meeting with a construction company this weekend. That would be a good chance to start.” -          “Yeah she can learn these things on weekends. If I am needed anywhere tell me.” -          “Sure you are needed. You can boost her confidence and make her observant. Or whatever you think would be better.” -          “Wow..!! I never knew you admired me. Today should be considered in one of our once in a history day. I am seeing so many new things today.” I said with an amusing smile. -          “Stop this you are still a s**t. And there we reached.” She said gesturing through her driveway. I stopped the car and she got down and was moving towards her house. -          “Should I come in we can have dinner together.” I said flirtatiously. -          “I’ll have my dinner with my parents. You just go ahead. And good night see you tomorrow.” My charm never works on her. She could have a real stone heart. -          “Okay. Good night.” Said I with puppy eyes for a last try. But she just smiled and turned towards her house. I didn’t left any option so I started the car and drove away. Third person’s p.o.v. On the way his home he shot a text – “We got the silver lining. It’s time to activate the plan.”
