Chapter nine Fight or flight

1560 Words
The first thought that came into my mind was run. Run as fast as my feet could allow. Run through the front door going deep into the forest. Allowing my fate to be decided by what ever occurs. Either killed by a wild animal or survive. What have been doing all this year surviving and hiding, bowing and obeying, frightful and scared. The door was closed by. It wouldn't take a short sprint, down the hall then turn left than racing down the stairs heading for the front door. Despite all this assuring thought, I don't move an inch. I just stand very still. Laying face down covered with blood and a lifeless gruesome sight, laid two male bodies. Beside them a crying maid. She looked up once she acknowledged my presence. Her eyes bloodshot. 'i didn't do it' she cried once more looking straight at me. I don't say a word and only look at the lifeless body face flat on the ground. 'i swear I didn't do it' her voice became louder claiming innocence. With shaking legs I turned backward trying to leave. The maid continued to scream calling out for me. I stumbled back, with shaking feet. Two guards approach from the stairs blocking my path. They eyes moved to the maid then the died body very slowly. 'i didn't do it' she cried out. They eyes moved to mine acknowledging my presence. 'Don't move' one commanded. The other rushed out urgently. The other blocked my path. Securing the exit, I wished I ran when I had the chance. 'i just came in ...' stammering out. I tried to explain but the guard doesn't even look my way. How would I begin to explain that i was unlucky and stumbled on such path. To protect my life from this outcome. I looked at the died body covered with blood. It pooled around them. Making a difform circle. We were a little far from the body, I couldn't make out the maids face. Her hands covered her features as she cried into her palms. Heavy footstep came closer. The Alpha approached his body vibrated with angry invisible steam coming out from his nose. I tried to become smaller, but his wicked eyes moved to mine. He walks to the body, turning slowly he stops and stare at my direction an unknown expression on his face. I become afraid, my breathing coming out short. The guard that was blocking my path, moved quickly and held my hands. Pushing me forcefully to the ground my knees scarp the with the pressure he held my wrist backwards pinning it from behind. Trying to struggle from his grip it only increased the pain and the grip increasing its lock. 'i.....' my voice reached there ears the Alpha turned. I looked up straining my neck but I could only see his chest clothed with a black tailored suit. Once more I try to defend myself but the words were stuck within. My fate was already decided and the will to fight died slowly down. I should be grateful that I survived for 15 years. Knowing the implications of I being here. Seeing this same occurrence happened before. I would be probably be killed for what just happen. In there defence I was a spy or a witch at worst. I knew I was died after I saw the body however my mind played it own tune tired of the same dull song. I stay silence thereafter, the Alpha waited for my response but I give non. He turned his back to mine. Someone walks into the room I only see black polish shoe. 'what happened here Leone' an older voice thunder. 'l'm handling it' The Alpha spoke deadly calmly. ' it doesn't seem like you are' the man scrutinized. ' This is unheard someone dare attack this mansion'. The person continues his baritone voice going higher. Starting outrage. ' it's all order control'. The Alpha voice was louder starting his own power. The older man could only huff. 'They are no witness?' he questioned out. 'They are' the guard behind me said right in tune. The crying woman wail louder, her soft whimper became loud sobs. Our presence are now known to them. ' Take them away for questioning' the unknown man commanded. ' I'm innocent'..... I don't know what happened. She cried with anguish. ' I am Alpha' power rolled out from his word. The guard behind sniffed and the women stopped her crying. ' This is my mansion..... This is my pack.... I decide on the next action Uncle.' he stressed the last word. No one dared to speak. Awaiting his next word. 'Take them away'. There was this finality in his words. It made my heart sink. The guard behind me lifted my hands up, struggling to stand up I follow his wicked lead. Once am in my two feet, he doesn't wait a minutes and begins to drag me out. The loud outcry from the other women covered the space being dragged forceful by the other guard, using her hair as a leach, she kicks and screams out trying desperately to escape. Her lack of corporation only makes the guard to be more rough, kicking her with his foot to silence her. But she doesn't yield to his kicks and continues to cry as she is begin dragged by the hair. Her mouth opened in agony holding into his arm that forms tight fist. Turning away, I look up at him. His eyes are already fixed on mine, he doesn't seem moved by the loudness of the women or her scream of innocence. At that instance, hatred fills my blood watching his cold unfeeling eyes. With malevolent, I spit out at his front. The action caught him off guard. Am not given a second to know the implication of my action The guard knocks me out for the disrespect. A hard blow to my head, I fall on the floor by the strong impact. Another kick is administered on my side, the sole of his shoe hitting my ribs. I whimper out. Closing my eyes shut. "That's enough" The Alpha says roughly. Bruised laying on the floor, I look at the ceiling. Circle dots appears before my eyes. I feel a cold material on my waist cuffing my hands. Am once more lifted up from the floor like a rag doll. Dragged and pushed, am taken away. Darkness everywhere is dark. Bar cages with rusted iron. Few touch light hangs from the wall, there's a dreadful silence. The heavy smell of spoilt substance clouds the malign dungeon. Walking forward more iron cages covers the underground. Shallow sunken wide eyes peeps out from the cell, boney hallow face with out stretched hands murmuring incoherently. The sight makes my blood run cold, I stumble on my own feet, watching them with widen eyes. Dragged up quickly, am taken deep into the darkness. The pain by my side increase at every move we take. Screams of agony rings out, echoing out, sharp slashes and wailing cries out though out the vast space. My captor doesn't seem bother by it only and only drags me up when every I stumble. Cursing at me sharply. We pause at an empty cell. The guards pushes me forward, passed against the iron rod, his hot breath fans my neck. "Don't move" he commands. The dangling of keys sounds, freeing my wrist. He open the cage, my heart begins to hammer rapidly, I gulp uneasily. He nudges me forward but I don't move with frightful eyes, a cold sweat breaks loose. He pushes more, grabbing into the iron rod, I shake my head rapidly. 'No' I begin to say repeatedly. Shaking my head with fear. Holding the bars with my two hands. 'Move you b***h' he grits out. However I don't budge, with more violence, he begins to punch my back as am turned against him. I hold on tight to the rod despite the pain that travels down my spine. Am shaking my head more rapidly refusing to enter. He pause for a second, encircling my neck from behind, he chokes my throat. My eyes begin to water, the air gets stuck in. Struggling and trashing, my hands on the cold iron tighten even more. He continues to choke the air from my leeway, with a hard kick, am knocked into the cell. My body making a thud landing on the cold cemented floor. He locks the door and curse me harshly. Trying to stand up, I fall back down. The darkness engulf around the tiny cell. Shifting towards the wall, I lay my head up, bringing my knees up, I lay my head on my knees. Silent tears rushes down my cheeks, the soreness of my throat makes it hard to make a sound. More tears stream down my face, despair rips through me. My own hiccup echoes through, more salty tears reaches my lips. I try to scream relieve myself of some caged emotions but the soreness of my throat only makes me to cough sickly. I don't know for how long, I stay sited there watching formless figure take it own shape in between my orbs. Blinking severely, I chase away sleep for hours. Afraid of what lays when I shut my lids.
