Hope for a Demon

"hey Hope! been away from this place for almost half a day, new record for you." The lady at the front desk of the recovery center grinned playfully at the blond Angle, he laughed sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck.

"You know me Healer, im always working!" The male took an ID badge out of his pocket and quickly swiped it through the checkpoint system, it would unlock the 3 foot thick metal doors that guarded the inside of the center, protecting thoes inside from the ones outside and vice versa. "He still in his room?"The blond angel asked as the scanner read his card.

"you know he never leaves without you, i heard he had a nightmare while you were gone, he got so violent they had to sedate him. He should be waking up right about now."The Healer said thoughtfully as she checked her recoards, she went to apoligize to the other angel when she realized she was reading the wrong file but the tanned male was already gone, having bolted down the hallway towards the patient rooms.

He skidded to a hault infront of room 223, panting as he quickly opening the door he bolted in. "Kai! i heard you had a nightmare are you all-" The angle stopped talking as he took in the sight of the perfectly clean and intact room, the two large demons sitting on the bed stared at him.

"uh... hey Ethan, you need somethig?" the purple haired demon asked as he looked at the Angel, the red headed Demon behind him staring blankly at the Angel

"n-no... i heard Kai had a nightmare he had been sedated... i came to make sure he didnt freak out.. what are you doing here Solaris? i thought you were banned from seeing him?" Ethan entered the room, putting his bag onto the table in the room.

The purple and yellow Demon shrugged. "no one can keep me out of here, if they did id just break into here to see him." The Astral Demon grinned playfully at the small Angel "im kidding, just so you know." He clarified, not wanting the small Angel to think badly of him.

Ethan smiled softly at the Demon's clarification. He had met the Astral during the war and he knew that despite the fire Demon being huge an intimidating the creature held a gentle soul and playful happy attitude, the Angel approached the black scaled Demon, reaching out to him. "Hey there big guy... did you have a good sleep?" The Angel asked as he looked up into the darkened eyes of the fragile Demon, once his eyes had been a beautiful bright red, full of life and love but now they were empty, their color gone and replaced with a shattered darkness. The blond Angel took the Demons hand in his and he put a glass of water into it, "here, drink this okay?"

The black Demon slowly raised the glass to his lips, his cracked eyes closing as he took big gulps of water, once finished and there was no water left in the glass he slowly handed it back to the small Angel. Ethan took the empty glass from him and placed it back on the nightstand to be filled with water a little later on, the Angel smiled sadly up at his friend.

Alikai had been a huge part of them winning the war, he had gathered critical information and destroyed the necessary security so that a large team could get into the opposing sides main base. He had helped the Humans... but he hadn't received any credit, no one had even ever mentioned that he had been there. When he and the others had confronted him on it he had simply shrugged and said that he didnt care about getting credit, so long as the conditions they had made before joining the war were fulfilled he was happy being in the background. So the little Angel was angry for him.

About 10 years before the end of the 80 year war, the Humans had been loosing badly in their fight against opposite sides of the globe. Only places like Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii were really safe, and that was mostly just because they were out of the way. The United Kingdom, England, Scotland and Ireland had been declared neutral territory, most people living there retreated into bomb shelters and hid for the majority of the war, food was being rationed all over the globe and people were well and truly miserable though neither side was willing to be the first to put out the white flag. Going to war had become mandatory and every man and woman age of 18 to 35 had been shipped off to help keep up the fight. Some parents were starting to hide their children, keeping them out of the sight of the government so that they wouldn't have to fight and die for their country.

It was at this point when the Demons and Vampires had been approached, a representative from both sides came to the island a majority of them had retreated to to wait out the war, most humans were too afraid to bother them. The few war planes and ships that had tried to take the island had quickly turned around in response to the Demons aerial attack, Vampires quickly captured anyone who made it to shore and they were tied up and sent back to their ships on little row boats. Not even a submarine was safe, the moment one of them entered the waters close to the island it had damaged a coral reef and angered the Sirens that inhabited it.

The island, that had originally been the home of the largest Vampire clan in the world, was now a sanctuary for any non human creature that wished to wait out the war the only humans that had been welcomed to the island were the human partners of any creature and any abused or abandoned children the creatures found on their way.

The two representatives had each appeared before the Demon and Vampire council, they pleaded their cases to the Coven and the Monsters and then they had been dismissed so the groups could discuss it.
