Ahhhhhhh" Lyra screamed, her heart running a marathon, she looked around, there was no sign of water,no eerie forest just the quiet space of her familiar bedroom It had felt too real to be a dream...that she was sure, after all,she knew how dreams came Quiet,a silent plea for attention Though this had felt similar, something was off about it Then she saw it,the faint red mark on her wrist ,one which hadn't been there before...fear laced her as her eyes quickly darted to the window.... closed, just as she had left it A quiet realization hit her....it wasn't a dream...it was something more than that Lyra took a shaky breath before coming out from her bed...her feet were muddy like she'd moved barefoot... ____~~~~____°°°°°°°°°°_____~~~~__ " Are you still coming over Friday night" Amy said, her voice bringing Lyra out of her thoughts "Come again?" Lyra asked, her tune distant as her tried to make real of what had happened the night before "Come on, what's wrong" Amy said, her gaze out of her locker as she turned to Lyra, arms crossed across her chest "Nothing" Lyra simply brushed her off "really there's nothing, now stop looking at me like I just offended your whole generation" Lyra added,a smile tugging at her lips "I could swear there's something wrong with you" Amy said, though she'd already uncrossed her arms and continued ransacking through her locker "Just a bad dream" Lyra sighed,an unsettling feeling aching as she spat the word dream... "Oh..those could be annoying at times, like the one I had last week where...." Amy continued rambling but Lyra was in no mood to listen though she kept nodding, she'd barely heard a word Amy had said The time after that, down to fifth period was a blur for Lyra...the bell had rang... school had come to an end Lyra packed her bag, quietly, her existence in the background of her classmates' loud voices... something about a party happening that evening, but Lyra had barely heard...Amy had left early on.. something about a date if Lyra had heard correctly The walk home felt longer than usual, the scorching sun only made it unbearable...Lyra stopped, her gaze travelling to a lady in a bus as she cooed at her baby...a quiet longing in Lyra's heart The bus zoomed past, breaking her gaze, she took a deep breath, calming herself That kind of affection was a luxury that only came in television and short dramas She'd already lost it in this life A fierce wind blew, too strong, startling Lyra She wasn't the only one shocked, people around paused, everyone's head raised, looking at the sky The once sunny sky had been replaced with dark clouds Something ripped within Lyra, her hand flew to her chest,as though to stop the raging rate of her heart She felt like she had done this but reason told her otherwise, she took a deep breath and as though in tow,the fierce dark clouds were gone, the sun shone bright as though the clouds that had loomed over the sky had been an illusion Lyra continued her walk home though her mind was in chaos, the marveled gazes of people around didn't help in any case "I did that" a quiet confirmation, one marked with fear and laced with a deeper confusion
