The next morning they escape through hidden tunnels beneath the estate and reach an abandoned chapel Adrian once used as a safe house. Inside, she discovers boxes. Photographs.Birthday cards. She finds a faded letter addressed to her but never delivered.Her hands tremble as she opens it.Before she can finish reading, a flash of memory crashes into her.His hand in hers. A dance beneath fairy lights. His voice saying..."If you ever forget me... I'll remember enough for both of us." The memory disappears as quickly as it came.She stumbles. Adrian catches her before she falls. "You remembered." His forehead rests lightly against hers. "You came back to me for a second." "I don't know what's happening." "You don't have to." His thumb brushes a tear from her cheek. "I'll wait as long as it takes."
