The Twin Prophecy

Chapter 2

Xander’s POV

I think I just f****d up everything. I had to go fall in love with my girlfriend's twin brother. He just stole my heart unknowingly when I saw him sleeping on New Year's day two years ago. I loved the way his eyes fluttered as he slept. His mouth open slightly as he breathed. His shirtless dancer's body peeking out from under his blanket. His blonde hair a mess on his pillow. I thought his sister looked beautiful sleeping. I was so wrong.

Flashback

My eyes flutter open as my head pounds. I should not have gotten drunk last night. I sit up making the blanket fall to my lap. I rub my eyes hoping my headache will go away. I take a glance around my room. Holy s**t I'm not in my room. I look to my right and see my girlfriend's twin brother. The kiss comes back to me. How could I not know that I kissed Rain. He and his sister look alike so I mistaken Rain as Summer. I wasn't that drunk though. I should have noticed, but I didn't. I kissed my girlfriend's brother and yet I can't find myself to regret it.

I take in his features as he sleeps. His eyes flutter as he dreams. His mouth hangs open as he takes short breaths. His face is clear of any type of blemishes or acne. His blonde hair a mess as he turns to lay on his back. My eyes trail down as I see his dancer's body peeking out from underneath the blanket. He looks breathtaking. A lot more beautiful than his sister. Whoa I did not just say that. I need to go find Summer. I remove my side of the blanket trying to get out; failing as my feet catch the end. I fall on my face making a big thud waking Rain up. "Xander are you okay?" He ask leaning over sleep written all over his voice. I turn my body around to look at him. I am taken back by the colour of his eyes. I never noticed his eyes before now. They are a gorgeous blue|grey colour. I can even see a bit a green. They are more beautiful than Summer's blue eyes. I get tempted to ask if those are his real eyes.

"I'm fine Rain. Just had my feet get caught in the blanket." I say standing up. He nods laying back down. I cough and he looks at me burning his now grey eyes into my soul. "Xander what do you remember from last night?" He ask sitting up. The blanket sliding down his body showing off a pretty sexy body. I blink twice looking at him. s**t lie don't tell him you remembered the most amazing kiss ever. I shake my head rubbing my temples as my head pounds harder. "Nothing much just taking shots of tequila with Skyler." I lie sitting on the bed. He sighs as if a big weight was lifted off him. Wait did more than a kiss happen. I look down and see I'm still fully clothed. "Would you like to tell me what happened." I ask getting closer to him. His eyes widen and he starts to blush when our arms touch. He takes a deep breath as if he is about to tell me something earth shattering.

"Well you were on the stairs when I was going up them. You nearly went over but luckily I grabbed your arm. I dragged you to my room where you passed out. I didn't want to wake you up so I just let you sleep here. Summer thought it was cute that you fell asleep on my bed." He says throwing the cover off. He stands up exposing his entire torso. s**t he has a bit of a hourglass shape. How did I not notice how sexy and hot Rain is. I trail my eyes up and down his body. s**t I feel myself getting a b***r just looking at his body. He walks to his bedroom door opening it. "I'm going down stairs. There's a glass of water and two pain pills on the bed side table." He say walking out as I check out his glorious bubble butt. He may be wearing pajama bottoms but that butt still manages to stick out. No no no I need to go get laid. I can not like him that way. I turn seeing the glass and pills. I take them putting the glass down. I get up and go to Summer's room.

End of flashback

"Xander as much as I dreamed you saying that. We can't happen at all. It would devastate Summer." Rain says looking down. I see tears hit the ground. I try to reach out to him, but he brushes past me grabbing his backpack. "I really need to go. Bye Xander." He says turning towards the door as he hangs his head low. f**k I can't let him leave. I need him here with me. "Bye Rain. I'll see you later then." My voice betrays me. He nods and walks out the door. I sit down shaking my head putting it in my hands. This is all kinds of messed up. On one hand I loved Summer. I really did love her. I did see myself having a future with her. We have been together a long time, so people would think we would get married. I did want to marry her. On the other hand I love Rain. I can see a future with him big time. I can see us married with kids running around. Growing old with him.

Why couldn't I just stay in love with Summer. I'm lucky she had even glanced my way in middle school. Yes Summer and I have been together since middle school. We are in the same grade but Im a year older than them. I lift my head out of my hands and tears start flowing out before I know it.

I cry for Rain. I cry for my grandpa. I cry for what I'm about to do to Summer. She deserves someone who is always going to love her and not fall for her equally hot brother. I stop crying as I hear the door squeak open. I turn away from whoever walked in. I wipe my face so they don't know I was crying. "Hey Xander." I hear a female voice say. I look up and it's my cousin Penelope. Her hazel eyes shining in the sun. Her lips a nice shade of red. Her mermaid colour hair curled and to the side. She has her messenger bag to her left side. Penelope is two years older than me. She is my best friend besides Skylar.

"What's up baby cousin?" She asks picking my leather jacket up off the bench. She sits down draping it over her lap. "Nothing just enjoying the fresh air." I lie to her. She narrows her hazel eyes looking me up and down. She grabs my neck putting me in a headlock. "Xander Paul Shepard you can't lie to me. Tell me or We will walk around school like this all day." She says as I struggle to get out. She may be smaller than me but she's a wrestler. Lying to her would result in her beating the truth out of me. Believe me she has done that to me before. She knows everything about me minus being in love with Rain. "Let me go and I'll tell you Pen" I say trying to push her arm off me. She nods and takes her arm off me. I rub my neck. "Now tell me." She says putting her elbows on her knees. She rests her chin in her hands. I begin telling her everything. I start where my feelings began to grow with him. The bell rings by the time I'm done telling her. "I so knew it. I was just waiting for you tell me. You never hid it very well. Everyone around you could tell you liked Rain. Although this is going to devastate Summer. You guys have been together for 4 years. She may tell Rain never to speak to you if you break up with her." Pen says standing handing me my jacket. I never thought of that. She very well could do that and Rain would listen to her..

We walk out the door. "I'll see you at home baby cousin." Pen punches me as Summer and her clique walk my way. "Ouch that hurt Girlie girl." I say rubbing my arm. She doesn't hit lightly. "I'm not a true girlie girl. When we get home you're going to regret saying that." She says trying to put me in another headlock. I dodge her arms bumping into one of Summer's friends. She screams as she hits the ground. Pen and I both look at her with wide eyes. "Xander you asshole watch where you walk. You could have seriously hurt Gabby." Hallie Summer's best friend says. Hallie doesn't like me very much. Says I'm not a good influence on her. We used to like each other but in the last year and half. She started being a little rude to me. I roll my eyes as Summer helps Gabby up. "Hal he had his back turned. He didn't know how close we were." Summer says as Gabby stands. Gabby whispers something to Summer. Pen pats my back as she sashays away from the drama I'm about to start. This is going to be the hardest thing I've ever personally done so far. Summer comes to my side putting her arms around my waist. Usually I would feel butterflies but now all I feel is guilt. I'm not in love with her any more. "Let's get out of here and go have some fun." Summer whispers as her clique go their separate ways.

"No Summer we need to go talk. How 'bout we go to Delilah's." I say pulling her arms off me. She frowns but her eyes have a glint of interest. She nods as she slips her small hand in my huge hand. Summer is 5'4 so it's cute when we are next to each other. Her long curly blonde hair is tied up in a ponytail with the school colours bow. Her cheerleading outfit used get me excited. Now I just see it as a uniform. Her makeup is nicely done. Her curves used to drive me crazy. Now her brother's curves make me crazy. Although I think Rain has a bigger butt than Summer. They both have small bubble butts though. We wait till the bell rings. We hide out in the girls bathroom. No one would expect me to be in here. Summer tries to kiss me but I stop her when the bathroom door swings open. I usher her into an empty stall. She locks the door climbing on the toilet. I go to the stall next to her locking it. I climb on the toilet as two people start talking.

"Did you hear Rain Cullen crying in the boys bathroom earlier?" girl number one says. Girl number two laughs. "Yeah over a guy. I heard it was his sister's boyfriend. How pathetic. He is such a pansy." Girl number two says. He was crying over me. Why would he cry over me? If he didn't want to be with me. I try to rack my brain as to why he would cry over me. "So happy he's not my brother. I bet Xander would be grossed out If he knew. I feel bad for Summer. She has the most pathetic brother in the world." Girl number two continues. I hear girl number one hum in approval. Okay now I'm starting to get mad. They have no idea how awesome and talented Rain is. I hear a low growl like a wolf come from the left of me. I've never heard that sound from her before. s**t Summer's about to kill someone. I look down and see her white vans hit the floor. I hear the door unlock. f**k she is going to get in trouble. I see her vans walk away till I can't see them.

"Yo b***h insult my brother again and you wont live to see another day. My brother isn't pathetic crying over a guy and why would you assume it's my boyfriend. My brother does have ex-boyfriends. He wears his heart on his sleeve. We girls do the same thing but no says we are pathetic. My brother is the most awesome person. I bet you don't even know he's a world champion dancer and singer." She says in very commanding voice. I never knew Rain could sing. He's never sang around me, but dancing is his god given talent. The way he can command an audience when dancing. "He may be introverted but that doesn't mean he can't socialize. He just prefers being surrounded with people who don't judge him. My brother is far more better than you. You talk about someone you don't know just cause he is different. You guys disgust me. Now get out before I start swinging." Summer continues as I hear the distain ooze from her mouth. I hear the patter of feet and a door open. "Okay Xander come out." She says. I put my black converses on the floor. I unlock the door and Summer is leaning against the wall with a face I've never seen. Her eyes are a gold with just a hint of blue. Her teeth seem to have grown fangs. Even her ears have changed to be a bit more pointy. Maybe breaking up with Summer might not be a good thing right now.

"I know you love my brother Xander. You don't hide your feelings for him very well. Today kind of just confirmed my gut feeling." Summer says smiling. Her face changed back to normal quite quickly. I just stare at her flabbergasted. Have I been that obvious. What was that look she had? Her smile gets bigger as I say nothing. "Your silence is very astonishing." She says as I just stand there frozen like a popsicle. When did she figure out my feelings for Rain? How did she figure them out? I open my mouth but nothing comes out. She has literally rendered me speechless. A lump in my throat starts to form as she comes closer smirking. Oh my god she is going to kill me right here in the girl's bathroom. I slowly back away as her smirk gets bigger. "Summer....I....I....." I say as I get backed up into a corner. She snakes an arm around my waist pulling me into a hug.

"Xander I watched you pour out your soul to my brother in the quad. I know he rejected you out of respect for me. I saw you crying hard when Rain left you in the quad." She says looking up at me. She saw us which means she saw me kiss him. "I had never heard or seen my brother cry so hard over a guy even Dillion." She continues. I just stand there numb. Why isn't she trying to kick my ass? She should not be this nonchalant about this. She should be screaming at me she never wants to see me again. So he was crying over me. Why if he doesn't want me? All these questions start popping up in my head. Summer's voice interrupts my thoughts.

"You haven't been the same since you accidently kissed my brother New Years two years ago. I just didn't want to face the facts when you started treating Rain differently than before. I forced myself to think oh he is just treating him like a little brother. When you acted more like a love sick puppy towards him. Then I noticed how you would look at him. You looked at him the way my parents look at each other. Full of love and adoration. The way you smiled when he did something stupid. The smile is simple but yet full of love. I should have just accepted it, but I silently prayed you still loved me and wanted me. Why is Rain cursed with such dashing good looks and great body?" She says pulling away from me. I have no idea what to say. She noticed everything. Even when I tried not to show my attraction towards Rain. She has no reason to be jealous of him. She is just as equally gorgeous and she has a banging body. I am just no longer attracted to her anymore. God blessed this set of twins with everything under the sun. If one twin doesn't have it the other one will.

"Which is why I'm going to help make Rain yours. Let Operation: Make Rain yours begin. We need to go to your house and plan, but I need to be back by 7th period so Rain doesn't think anything is up. Also because we have cheer practice too. Rain is teaching us a new routine." Summer says grabbing my hand pulling me out of the bathroom. Few things I need to say. What The f**k just happened? Why did Summer have gold eyes, fangs, and pointy ears? I may not know the Cullen's as well I thought I did.

Summer keeps pulling me to the back door of the school where i see Skylar waiting too. What is he doing here? He has his head down typing something on his phone as we get closer to him. Skylar's ginger hair falls in his face as he smiles at his phone. He must be texting his college girlfriend. His girlfriend graduated last year and is going to Nevada state college. So the distance has been rough on them but they are completely made for each other. He lifts his head up locking his phone shoving it in his left back pocket. His green eyes make everyone swoon over him. His face has just enough freckles to be hot. His dark complexation makes him irresistible. I have to admit I once had a crush on Skylar when I figured out I'm bisexual. I quickly got over it. Summer stops right in front of Skylar. He smirks at me then looks at Summer. She nods as if they are secretly communicating.

"So Operation: Make Rain yours is on." Skylar asks as Summer lets her death grip on my hand go. s**t when did she get this strong. I rub my hand as feeling starts to come back. She looks over at me with a sympathetic look. "Sorry babe still getting used to my new strength." Summer says. Her new strength? What happened over the summer? She realizes what she says. "Ummm..by that I mean I started weight lifting over the summer months." She says her eyes darting all over the room. A sign she is lying. I nod as if I believe her. Skylar nods accepting her lie. Skylar opens the back door and we all shuffle out before anyone notices us.

As soon as we hit the parking lot. We all make a dash to my car. Summer runs a lot faster than she did when I left right before the summer break started. She never beats me or Skylar in a race. Now she was at my car barely out of breath. Skylar and I make it to my car out of breath. "How did you get faster?" Skylar asks out of breath reaching in my back pocket. I quickly jump away from him. He starts laughing as if touching my ass is something he does all the time. "Dude I was grabbing your keys. Not your ass." He says wiping his forehead. I let out a breathy laugh. I fish out my keys from the pocket he had his hand in. I unlock my 2015 accord. I didn't want a sports car, cause it would make harder to have friends ride in the car with me.

Summer and Skylar fight over who gets in the front as i walk to the driver's side. Skylar grabs the handle when Summer pulls him back making him fall hard on the ground. "So sorry It is hard to control right now." She says. Her eyes widen and she jumps in the back seat. Skylar dusts off getting up looking at Summer through the window like she has explaining to do. She really does about everything. He jumps in the car as I start it from my key. I jumping the driver's seat pulling out. Now time to make Rain mine. Hopefully this will work.
