Chapter 5: Keith
I saw Gerard on the phone when I got out of the water. I took off my tanks, weight belt, fins and mask and wandered over, just as he hung up and turned to face me. As soon as he saw me he flickered a brief smile, and a look akin to lust flashed across his face. He told me about the conversation with Dad. I thought it over and decided I’d rather have him come to Gerard’s house. I felt safer there, more confident. I called Dad and we agreed to meet there on Sunday. I gave him the address, and hoped like hell he planned to come alone. I couldn’t face Mom right now.
The week was a good one and my mood lifted. Blue skies and warm temperatures did that to me. Plus, I got a clean bill of health from Dr. Simms. To top it off, Gerard asked if I’d like to go on a boat ride Saturda
