Unexpected Battle

Meeting at their rendezvous point which is a clearing located just near their carriage. Manuel handed something to the two. “What is this?” Receiving some sort of a tooth, Manuel answered truthfully. “This is the tooth that I extracted from the Goblin King’s corpse, didn’t you know that you need to have proof that you’ve subjugated the said monster…” Manuel directed the clueless two, but the moment he explained it to them briefly, they immediately understood it. “I see, then does that mean that we are in this quest?” Jericho asked. “Of course…” Manuel said a swirl of white light cloaked him, reverting him back to his cloaks that they were wearing ever since they’d set their foot on the capital. Manuel was the first one who entered the carriage, followed by Jericho who was wiping his trident, and Jasper who is the driver of the carriage. Returning back at the capital, specifically the adventurer’s guild. The eyes from the inside are focused towards the trio as if they are surprised by something...No, they are really surprised. Not because they are the battle gods but the thing that they just handed casually on the reception desk. “Mission complete, this is the proof that we’ve exterminated the Goblin King.” Jasper pointed his hands onto the tooth big enough compared to a human’s fist. The receptionist who was serving the adventurers was shocked at this. No one could easily defeat the Goblin King in one day, not only do you need a party member to devise and strategize a plan to defeat it, but you also need the courage to do it. No one ever dared to pick this quest because it was hard, to begin with yet this trio who just received this quest earlier in the morning returned in the evening as if they just took a nap in the afternoon and returned back to the adventurers guild. Still, their eyes were fixed in the Goblin’s tooth, astounded by this. Jasper noticed that the receptionist was spacing out so he snapped his finger in front of her face to snap her back to reality. Which is effective… The receptionist realized her mistake and started to amend it by processing the completion of the quest. “Please wait...sir?” It looks like she is asking for his name, now that he realizes this, Jasper smiled and said his name. “My name is Jasper, please call me by that name from this day onward.” One of the battle gods, Duelist class, level 100. Jasper Ramos introduced himself to the receptionist. Just as she was processing the completion of the quest, Jasper noticed something from his back. “So you were one of the Surrender at 20? The new guild of Bethia Kingdom huh?” A woman's voice echoed in the adventurers' hall,--- it was not just a voice but a voice filled with magic. The question is what. Then the adventurers who were inside the guild’s hall fell into drowsiness and then fell to their sleep. All of them except the trio. “Hmm...it looks like there’s three of you in here.” Then it was finally their time to check the woman who was responsible for this. But unfortunately, the woman is cloaked from head to toes, concealing her identity and appearance. The only clue from her appearance is her voice and height, which can be compared to an elementary girl. “That would be us, would you mind telling us who you are?” Jasper asked simply, but he could sense the feeling that a fight would break out at a moment's notice. Then the girl gently pulled back her hood, showing her real appearance, her long silver hair cascaded down like a waterfall. It was a child with a slim petite body, her height is really comparable to elementary girls that made the battle gods baffled slightly. The one responsible for making everyone asleep is the girl in front of them. Then probably, this girl is strong. “Before I give you my name, I must confirm that you’re the members of Surrender at 20…” But something confuses Jasper… “Little girl, you must’ve mistaken us, we are not from the Surrender at 20…Eh?” Moments after he said the word “little girl” he felt goosebumps all over his body as the cold fleeting sensation of being cut emanated around the girl. A deadly intent began to fill the guild’s hall as the three battle gods immediately assumed a battle stance. “Well, I think it’s no use to tell your name to the man who will die here right now.” It was a declaration of war, just by saying a little girl really messed everything up. Jasper calmly laughed as he heard those cocky words. “If you think that we’re from the surrender at 20 then you should know that we are strong right…” Jasper exchanged a meaningful glance with Jericho and Manuel, the two understood what his gaze meant so they stepped aside. “Since you’re using a sword, then it’s perfect that I should be the one fighting you right?” Jasper haughtily said, the girl in front of them didn’t wave at his proud declaration of him being her enemy. From his battle stance, the girl immediately figured out who she was fighting too. She would not be mistaken, the one that got her attention, his fluid and fast movements of swords. It was Jasper… “I saw you in the broadcast of your mock battle, you’re the one who got the most attention in our country.” She said. Country? Does that mean that she is not from here? “Oh? I’ve become popular from all over the country for just participating in such a practice match. I’m truly happy about this.” It was genuine praise to himself, Jasper couldn’t hide his excitement about this fact. Being famous for just that, he could only laugh internally since he was not even serious on that match. But the fact that he displayed most of his skills etched it on their eyes. So probably they’ve concluded that he is one of the strongest. “Yes, you're a strong swordsman, you will be a great wall from our wish...that’s why I need to know your weakness right here and right now!” Declaring her intent to fight, she reached for her scabbard and pulled out her sword. “Weakness?” Befuddled about this, Jasper tries to ask but the moment he tries to open his mouth, he feels something rushing towards his chest. Gasping lightly, Jasper evaded it by just stepping to the side. She was moving so fast that it surprised him a little but once he assumed battle stance, everything slowed down. In his vision, the girl appears to be moving in slow motion, near to standstill. This gives him some insights into his enemy. This enemy is far more behind than he imagined. Then after successfully dodging her blade, Jasper jumped out to create a distance between each other. “You dodged it huh? As expected from the man that I’ve just watched…” She was genuinely praising him but Jasper didn’t care in the slightest. “Before we fight, I want to know your name. Is that okay?” This time he was asking nicely, he doesn’t want to agitate her by just saying little girl again. It was a reasonable question that will continue their duel and the fact that he evaded her sword made her curious about this man. So she answered. “You can call me Kirin,” She simply curtly and continued their duel by chasing him with her sword swinging upward. “Such futile efforts.” He muttered softly to himself and evaded her second stroke again easily but the moment he took a step, her sword changed trajectory. The sword inscribed an arc in midair delivering her third stroke but it was easily evaded again. This infuriated her. “Why are you not drawing your sword sir Jasper and why are you on the defensive?” She asked with an irritated expression, to think that her enemy would not even draw the sword ever since the match started is really infuriating. “Don’t tell me, you’re underestimating me.” It was an abrupt conjecture from the data she collected on that brief fight. “I am just not in the mood to fight, but if you agree to my condition then I’ll draw my sword.” “Condition?” She nodded promptly, indicating him to continue. “When I win this match of ours then swear to me that you will return everyone here in their normal state,” Jasper stated his demand simply. While Kirin looked around her to know what he was referring to. It was just those people who were put into sleep, but there’s something wrong about his first words. “Are you that confident of winning?” She said, tightly gripping the hilt of her sword. “Yes, because to begin with, fighting me is an insult. You and I are at different levels, I’m above and you’re below, way below.” He demonstrated it using both of his hands, emphasizing the gap between them. Making her obviously angry. “You...don’t take me lightly!!!” Kirin raised her voice, trying to be intimidating but she was not given a chance by her short stature and age. To Jasper, it was just a whining child. Then a moment after, Kirin dashed forward with her sword swinging in all directions. This movement of the sword surprised Jasper in the slightest because the sword is moving in every possible escape location. If he moves up, he will be cut, if he moves to the right, he will be cut, and so on. Not to mention that the swords are moving at blinding speed that makes it impossible to grasp in the eye...From a normal person. Jasper took this determination all at once and when the sword was about to strike his neck, he immediately pulled out his sword at lightspeed, it was not a taichi that he was using since but a sword, and deflected her sword. Kirin's eyes widened in shock as she felt a great force deflecting her sword… “Impossible, how did he perceive that?” She thought to herself as her hands were moving up, creating a clear opening in her front. Then this is the time where she felt the sensation of being killed, the sword that Jasper is wielding is being swathed in lightning, one strike from this sword will ultimately behead her. The lightning sword descended at flash speed, Kirin's eyes saw the sword becoming larger and larger as if she was being trampled and dominated. She was not fast enough to clash with him and is not powerful enough to fight him. Even though she is the top swordswomen in her country, she can’t even pull out a decent fight with this man. It is just a one-sided battle. She just realized it just now and accepted her demise…However. The sword stopped the moment it was about to hit her neck, the doppler effect generated by the sword echoed an ear-piercing noise in the Guild’s hall. Jasper can only see a shivering young girl who was a fraction away from her death. If he didn’t stop his hand then he would accidentally behead the girl, though it was intentional. “I win.” Jasper declared and sheathed his sword back to his scabbard. “As for my reward as the winner of this match, I ask you to return them to their normal state and tell us your identity.”
