Upon receiving the quest and debriefing, the trio headed out to the nearest rental carriage where an adventurer could use as the main transportation to carry out their quest.
They started loading up their bags and luggage on the back of the horse-drawn carriage. Jasper took the reins while the other two were strategizing something inside the carriage.
“Okay, the goal is to defeat the Goblin King that is resting on the deep forest of the Bethia Kingdom. This Goblin King is responsible for pillaging and massacring the nearby village situated in the Bethia’s forest.”
Reading the information made their faces sulks in darkness, this is the first time they heard about massacring. Their adventure in this world becomes dark as they live along.
“But, why didn’t the heroes of Bethia didn’t help those people? Assuming that they are the strongest fighters in this kingdom. Defeating such monsters is an easy feat for them.”
Jericho started to get doubtful about the kingdom’s policy on protecting its own people. If they could spare a lot of money on rebuilding the damaged portion of the kingdom, then why aren’t they unable to protect the village that is under their rule?
“The utmost priority of the kingdom should be to protect their citizens. It’s a mission for them to send an army to subjugate that Goblin King and yet here we are seeing this actual problem posted on the bulletin board. I will kill that Goblin King slowly and question the king about this matter.”
Manuel's face started to contort in irritation and anger, creating a carving on his face that destroyed its ethereal quality. His feelings are understandable as Jericho shared his thought about this as well.
“Well, you will have that chance, the first goal that we need to accomplish is to pinpoint the location of the Goblin King.”
Jericho pulled out a piece of map and laid it over his legs. Manuel leaned forward to have a look and saw red markings in a different location.
“Based on this map, the three red markings in the east, north, and south of the forest is where the Goblin King’s territory is.”
“So are you saying that there are three territories?”
“Yes.”
Jericho then used a measuring device to calculate the distance of the three markings relative to each other. He sighed after finding out the result.
“Unfortunately, they are five kilometers away from each other. The best way for us to hunt this monster is to separate. I’ll take north, you go south, and Jasper will take the east.”
“I agree…”
Reaching a conclusion, Jericho rolled the map and put it back on his bag.
Three hours later of venturing, they finally reached the entrance to the forest.
The three got off the carriage and used protective barrier skills on the horse-drawn carriage.
They don’t want to walk after this mission if they find out that their horses were killed by an unknown monster lurking in this forest.
“Proceed to plan. If you were to find out where exactly is the Goblin King, feel free to kill it promptly, just inform us otherwise.”
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
Jericho and the two armed themselves to the teeth and started to enter the eerie forest.
Just walking in the forest made their scalps tingle. Even if they are donning their avatar who has tremendous power, they can’t erase the fact that they are just ordinary players from another world with each of their fears.
From Manuel’s perspective, he halted at the moment after hearing a minuscule noise from his behind.
Readying his battle-ax he swiveled his body and saw three wolves, growls loudly trying to intimidate their prey but unfortunately it doesn’t have any effect on him who has a high resistance.
Then, the moment he moved in the slightest, the three wolves pounced all at once. Their speed and agility are top-notch and could probably kill an ordinary human with that move. However, the man that they are thinking of hunting is not an ordinary human but a level 100 Destroyer Class.
Such an attack comparable to a low-level wolf will be killed instantly with a basic attack.
-Swish.
With a swing of his ax drops three wolves to the ground lifelessly, their blood painted the ground in red.
After killing those monsters, he reported it to the two to warn them.
“Okay, we will be careful.”
“Thanks for the information.”
Once they signified they received his message, Manuel walked forward. As he goes deeper into the forest the more wolves try to attack him.
But all of them died in an instant the moment they took a leap.
Killing more than 50 wolves, he finds himself in a place where one of the Goblin kings dwells.
From the looks of it, it looks like a cave of some sort. Manuel pay it no heed and enter——
The moment he stepped forward on the entrance, five arrows hurled towards him.
He raised his arms to protect himself from the surprise attack and the five arrows began to break and bend upon hitting his arm.
The tip of the arrows didn’t spear gauntlet, in fact, it was the tip of the arrow that got shattered like a fragile mirror smashing into the ground.
He gazed into the abyss where the arrows were shot.
“I guess this is the place.”
Muttering to himself, he struts inside the cave and deflects all the incoming arrows shot upon him.
Going deeper and deeper into the cave, a grotesque-looking monster appeared. With its large pointed nose, large pointed ears, green skin, dull-looking sword, and the foul smell they exuded. It was at this moment he met with an actual goblin.
From his gaming experience, those goblins are weak-type monsters so he decided to annihilate all of them.
He didn’t forget the information he gathered the moment they took this quest. They massacred all the people living in that village. With his sense of justice, no one will be left alive in this hunt.
Then—.
The moment he massacred those goblins, a howl that shakes the earth echoed inside the cave.
It looks like the father is angry after witnessing his children being killed.
Manuel rushed inside and saw a bright hall. It was brightened by the torches mounted on the face of the cave.
There, he found the monster he was looking for.
It was magnificently sitting on the throne made out of bones, he doesn’t know what type of bones they are but the fact that they are built into the throne makes him infer that those are lives that were taken.
Judging from the dimension of the throne, he could infer that his height is and width is huge.
It was a theoretical guest until it wasn’t.
The Goblin King stood flamboyantly and grabbed the lying large butcher knife beside him.
This gave him a moment to scrutinize the boss of this dungeon.
It was wearing a polished full-plate mail, a butcher ax, and a shield large enough to cover himself.
The goblins around him that look to be his servant chanted and cheered in indecipherable language.
“So you’re the Goblin King.”
Even though it was not necessary to speak with the monster, he did it anyway for formality. Though he is not expecting an answer from a monster—.
“That’s right, I’m the Goblin King that you disturb. You will not get away with this alive after you killed my brethren.”
“Kill? So the Goblin King has its own feelings as well…” Manuel chortled mockingly.
“You—”
It started to get infuriated and the muscles from all over his muscles swell instantly. Indicating that he wants this man who ridiculed him smashed to death.
“If you really care about your brethren, you shouldn't have massacred the village in the first place.”
“Village? Ah...that village, that’s right, I’m the mastermind, so what are you going to do? Kill me? Don’t get ahead of yourselves, human!”
It snapped in anger and swung his butcher knife powerful enough to shake the cave.
A loud crash permeated throughout the hall after hitting him with its butcher knife—
But…
The man clad in black-armor didn’t move in the slightest.
The Goblin King was dumbfounded and retreated its blade.
The Goblin King is certain that he received a direct hit yet this man in front of him didn’t fall or totter where most people will find themselves squashed and sliced.
“Wh-what are you?!”
Surprised, the Goblin King asked Manuel dumbfoundedly.
“I'm just a simple adventurer whose job is to subjugate you.”
“You damn human!!!”
Once more the Goblin King started attacking again, this time. The butcher ax was stopped by Manuel’s hand.
“How unsightly for a monster like you to swear in bewilderment.” Saying that he started to tighten his grip on the battle-ax and seconds later, its sharp blade shattered like glass.
“I-Impossible!”
The Goblin King inadvertently let out an anguish whine from which Manuel chuckled at its expression of finding out the strength of his enemy.
“Don’t be surprised, I didn’t use any skills against you—No, you’re not worthy to receive my skills.”
“Don’t underestimate me, human!!! I can still kill you with my bare hand.”
Declaring his intent to kill. The Goblin King’s large and powerful fist was launched towards him.
Its fists are huge enough to cover an entire man like him. Receiving this blow is instant death.
But Manuel didn’t wave in the slightest; instead, he brought out his fist to smash that incoming fist.
Unfortunately, the Goblin King’s arms shattered along with its armor. Its left hand is no more than a gush of blood.
“Uarahhugahdhawd”
It let out a cry of anguish. He really felt that excruciating pain as blood started to gush out from its shoulder.
“I shall deliver my final blow against you.”
With his heartless verdict, he swung his right hand towards the Goblin King, smashing to its solar plexus.
With a great force enough to crush a mountain, the Goblin King exploded and its blood painted its throne hall.
The goblins who were cheering silenced as they turned pale. Manuel saw a hopeless expression carved in their grotesque faces.
“Well, I think you need to die along with your king. [Earth Stomp]”
Manuel stomped his feet powerfully enough to create an earthquake, the cave crumbled after receiving a tremendous force, causing it to cave in, killing all the goblins inside.
Fifteen seconds later, the crumbling stopped and with a swing of his ax, he found his exit from the crumbled cave.
“This is Manuel, the Goblin King is exterminated, I repeat the Goblin King is exterminated. I have the proof with me, let’s meet at our rendezvous point.”
