(Brianna's POV) I decided to leave the house right then and there. Being there just made me feel like I was suffocating to the point where I couldn't breathe. The air seemed to disappear without a trace after Garth and his parents arrived. I felt like something hard hit my chest many times and it was so painful, so real I felt. Did they think that I was a woman they could easily win over? Don't they realize how badly their son has behaved towards me? How badly Garth has dared to have an affair behind my back. They even had s*x before our engagement. Are they still called humans? Even animals know how to be loyal! "Damn it! Should I continue to feel down just because of an asshole like him? Even my tears are too precious to fall for someone who can't even appreciate love and relationships," I cursed. I cursed the whole way. I needed a drink to forget all the things that had happened to me. If I keep this up, I feel like my head is going to explode from all the problems that are coming at me like basketballs being thrown at me. And I saw Garth and Chloe's faces on the other side laughing at me. "How could they still dare to come to our house and make an offer? Garth's brain must be damaged! He has no shame after what he did to me!" I yelled as I hit the steering wheel. "f****d up!" I hoped he'd suffer in hell and I'd be the first one to smile at his suffering. "But I was lucky because, at the last second, I found out Garth's depravity behind my back," I whispered. I felt my eyes heat up and I quickly kept this crazy feeling under control. "How could ... With Chloe?" I lose my words every time I remember how crazy they were behind my back. With no shame even after everyone knew what they were doing behind my back. "What are you doing here?" my eyes sharpened as I got out of the car and saw that Chloe had also just gotten out of her car. Along with a few of her friends who had entered the bar. Did she want to party to celebrate my broken relationship with Garth? And she would brag to her friends that she was the winner for taking Garth away from me? Even with cheap tricks. It just makes me disgusted and looks down on her. He's the worst friend I've ever had. The smell ... I really can't stand it. Garbage should be in the trash can. "I am the one who must ask you. What did you come here for?" he crossed his arms over his chest in a haughty manner. Really, she didn't even have a ray of remorse in her eyes. Did she mean to do this to me? All this time, I considered her to be my best and dearest friend. But I was getting betrayed by the person closest to me. "Is this bar yours? Do I need to ask permission every time I come to a place?" I retorted no less rudely. I would not lose to a cunning woman like her. She smiled mockingly. "Bri, you get cocky all the time. That's why Garth would rather be with me than you. Because you're hard to handle. Try being a good cat so that men can like you." "The reason why I'm a bad cat is because I can easily destroy you. Do you understand? You're not my level, Chloe. Just take that asshole away from me. He's not worth that much to me anyway. Trash does go with trash." "What did you say?!" she yelled while glaring at me. "Is it too quiet? Should I say it out loud what kind of woman you are, huh?! A b***h who has seduced my boyfriend." "Watch your language, Bri. If Garth had heard, he would've slapped your ill-mannered mouth shut," she hissed. "And I would have slapped you back many times over until you realized who you were dealing with," I warned. "Why are you acting as if I'm the guilty one here? Our relationship started because we loved each other, Bri. You know that the beginning of your relationship started with business." My hands clenched into fists and my face heated with annoyance. It was true. I didn't love Garth at first, but is this something that can just be forgiven? I don't even know how long they've been cheating on me. "If Garth's parents had accepted our relationship. I would have been the one standing at the engagement ceremony yesterday," she looked at me with teary eyes. "Stop acting like you're the victim, Chloe." I'm even sick of seeing her innocent face as if she's innocent of anything. "I'm not acting, Bri. We did love each other even before you did," she told me, "someone even tried to set us up by giving you that video. I'm sure it was Garth's parents because they didn't like me being in a relationship with Garth." I growled in annoyance. Should I listen to her annoying stories about her relationship with Garth? Didn't she think about my feelings? I'm the only one who got hurt here. And how can she still think of herself and not feel ashamed? I really couldn't say anything else to face the two of them. "Now I know why you're together. Because you're both selfish," I hissed. At that moment, I heard my cell phone ring and I hurriedly grabbed it from my bag. I furrowed my brow when I saw Xander's name on my phone screen. What was wrong with Xander calling me? "Hello?" I greeted casually, but my gaze was fixed on Chloe who was still standing in front of me. "Where are you, Miss Bri?" "I'm outside. What's wrong?" I asked. "Please come to the hospital immediately. Your father just fell down the stairs and had a heart attack!" The cell phone I was holding fell without a fight. I couldn't hold back the tears that spilled out after hearing the news about my father. My heart was beating so fast and my chest felt tight. It was so painful that I almost fainted as the pain seemed to want to kill me. "T-That's impossible." With my body shaking, I went straight to the hospital. My vision blurred as I ran around like a madman in the hospital corridors and bumped into passersby several times. I didn't care about their curses and warnings. I just wanted to see my father's condition immediately. "Mom...." I sobbed as I saw my mom sitting on the waiting chair crying. My body was shaking violently. As I hobbled over to my mom. "Mom, how is dad?" "What are you doing here?" she stood looking at me with tears and anger mixed in. "Get the f**k out of here, you b***h!" he yelled. I bent over. It was like I had just been hit by a boulder that left me helpless. It felt like my world just collapsed hearing his words that hurt like a knife plunged straight into my chest. "Are you happy? Are you happy that your father is dead?!" she shouted hysterically. "Wh-What?" I collapsed to the floor. Didn't I hear it wrong? There's no way. It felt like a dream, but the pain I was feeling was so real. My chest felt tight, my eyes blurred as my tears kept flowing non-stop. I felt my numb legs as if they couldn't be moved. And the voices that kept coming in shouting that I was an unlucky woman made my head throb with an uneasy feeling that terrified me. "You're the cause of his death! It's all your fault that he had a heart attack and died!" my mother's shouts were like spears that kept stabbing my body over and over again. Causing unbearable pain. I could only cry silently with my body shaking violently. I squeezed my chest which felt tight. "Get out of our sight. You're just a bad luck charm in this family!" My body was limp, but I forced it to move and stood up with difficulty. I looked into my mother's eyes which were filled with hatred and hurt. Compared to all the pain I had received, this was more painful. I couldn't take all this hatred so I decided to walk away from there with a broken heart.
