Who Are You?

In the dark part between the two kingdoms is a place where one of the powerful Sorcerer dwells. He is supposed to be the leading elder who controls the flow of magic present in the mystical world. But because of his ambition to rule both worlds, he became interested in the prophecy. If he gets to control the chosen ones then it's easier for him to execute his plans.

Laugh evilly, "At last the time has come. The prophecy will come to pass. I have been waiting for this moment for too long."

"Lord Modus, how do you know?" a hooded man came forward.

"Look at the skies of both kingdoms, it shows a manifestation like that of the time when the prophecy was stated by the last oracle." watching from a crystal ball.

Another hooded man came forward, "Will we be able to know their identity?" he asked.

"They are protected by the elementals. Too bad my powers are not strong enough to go against it. But I can surely locate them in due time."

In the Queen's Chamber

She flutters her eyes as she adjusts them from the bright light from outside. She tried to move her hands but she felt like it was heavy, she move to investigate and her eyes soften looking at her older brother holding it while sleeping beside the bed.

"Hans, Hans wake up." her brother moved and immediately check up on her

"Are you okay? Where were you? I am worried sick about you. I sent the whole knights to find you." he exclaimed.

Elle wrinkled her forehead, "Last night?" then a light flashes again in her mind the image repeatedly played in her head.

"Elle, is something the matter?" Hans asked.

"What happened?" she asked back.

"I was supposed to ask you." He stood up and went near the window, "Have you seen the sky last night?" but she didn't say anything. "I guess you didn't. The sky suddenly illuminate with lighting and roared with thunder, as the elder says, it was the same as when the prophecy was declared."

She scratched her forehead, "So you mean to say the prophecy is happening? By whom?"

"That is what we are to find out. We were looking all over for you only to find you here in your room sleeping. We're you here the whole time?" he asked.

"I went to the tower to breathe. I talked to someone..." she was trying to recall what happened but it seems not working. "Where did you say you found me again?"

"Here, fast asleep. You even look like you're having a bad dream that's why I stayed with you," he answered

She just nods her head and in her thoughts, "Was that only a dream? Why does it feel so real? Did I just see..." she shook her head to dismiss her thoughts. "So what then, did the elders say more about the prophecy?"

"They didn't say more actually, Trisha was too careful to talk about it. She said it's a sensitive matter to be tackled at that moment."

She hummed, "Then I guess we have to trust Trisha about that. Nobody else knows better about that matter except her."

"You are right about that." giving his sister a glass of blood which she glared at, "It's animal blood. I will be going back to the human world, I received a report that there have been some mysterious killings happening." he sat next to her and looks at her.

"I know, I will do my best not to worry your then troubled heart," she said

"I love you, Elle. You may be the Queen of this kingdom, but you can never take away from me that feeling and that bond. I am your big brother my failure to protect you is my failure to the family."

"I understand." she leans her head to her brother's shoulder. "Please take care in the human world." he nods and gave her a tight hug.

In the Kingdom of the Werewolves

King Greg the ruler of the White Hound Pack gathered his council in the throne room to talk about what happened the other night.

"I think that is a sign that the prophecy is about to come true, but the question is where?" a council member said.

"It's possible that one from our kind fell in love with their kind." another blurted

But Yuan, the kingdom's wizard spoke, "But don't forget that if a prophecy like this will happen it would be to someone who possesses great power. In this world, only the vampire queen possesses such and the other is unknown."

"Could it be the young prince? He came back to fulfill the prophecy." the King glared at him.

"Mind your words old man, how would the young prince know about it if we are not even sure if he is alive or not. We did everything to search for him and still no sign of him. So I suggest you stop involving the young prince in this matter." everybody bowed their heads.

"The royal blood possesses elemental powers too, so maybe there is other royal blood somewhere who met and fall in love in that matter," Yuan explained.

"Then that will be our priority for now. Send out the troops to visit every place of the royal blood and check if there is something suspicious." the King ordered.

"Right away my Lord. As for the council, be vigilant and cautious the prophecy could happen anytime. I can feel it. You can all go, for now, report if you find something" Yuan ended.

King Greg walked towards the balcony, "It's been so long already Yuan, and still we haven't found the prince. I am losing hope of finding him."

"Don't fret My King, as long as the ball in my scepter is still intact, we still have hope. The young prince is still alive and he will come and become your heir," he exclaimed.

The King just hummed, "I am old Yuan. If ever my time will come, promise me that you won't stop until you put my son in his rightful place. I trust no one except you, as you are of the royal clan too, the second line to the throne next to your cousin, the first knight."

Yuan bowed his head, "I swear on my life, I will find him or I will die trying."

Vampire Kingdom

It was a typical day in school. It's been a week already after that phenomenon. The young ones gathered in the cafeteria when the Rogues barge in. Drake the leader of the faction stood still, "I'm here to collect my part of the bargain."

Kelly stood in front, "Those humans who are not chosen please form your line in the middle."

And came six individuals and among the six was Justin. Others look at him with pity, if only one will choose him so he won't become one of the rogues, but everyone had their partners already. They wanted to help since Justin had been a great assistance to them for the past few days. But a deal is a deal.

A grin appeared on his face, "Six men, this is a good addition to my clan. I will take them now."

Justin secretly takes a glance at Eva who looked so worried. One by one the men were taken by the member of the rogues, when it comes to Justin, he suddenly yanked the hand of the man and said.

"I am not leaving this kingdom. My sister is here and I need to stay with her." but the man replied, "I don't care. Move it." he pushed him but Justin pushed him back, "I said I'm not going."

Then Drake laugh, "You must be the human Raul had been telling me about. You are something." he choked him and raised him above ground, "You know you can't put your arrogance to use here, they follow useless rules and regulations here, but when you come with me, you might be a good part to my strong men." he releases him as he falls to the ground gasping for air.

"I rather work in the cafeteria than become one of the puppets." he coughed still gasping for air.

Drake laughs, "It's not your decision to make. You see, powerless humans like you in this world won't last long.

He chuckled, "I guess that's the choice we choose to make. I don't follow rules myself but if those rules maintain peace, I'm willing to wave my principles."

"You and I both, but you see I don't bow to anyone, especially to a brat like you. You are not chosen, so you are good as ours. Take him." Drake ordered.

But Justin started to fight them off. Kelly was shocked enough to see someone making a stand for himself. She wanted to help but she knows interfering will just make things worst.

Justin was on the ground with blood all over his face, "You're blood smells different. Too bad it's not my job to turn you. But I know who makes you follow us. " Take him and let's move out."

Two of his men flew in different directions when they were about to drag him out. And the next thing he sees is the people around bowing their heads. Drake slowly turned around to face someone he is not expected to see.

"I came to take my end of the deal Elle." Drake informed, "But he made it hard for me as he is being stubborn."

"You can't take him." she blurted. "Take the others but him," she added

"Now Elle, you can't refuse me. We had a deal. Those who are not chosen are mine, and clearly, he is not selected. So I will take him."

"He is already taken, Drake." Drake looks at Justin on the floor.

"I don't see someone claiming him, Elle," he said.

"You're looking at her, Drake. He is mine. So you better keep your men away from him. You know me of being so possessive. I go for a kill. Like I always do."

Drake smirked, "Lucky, son of a b*tch. Then our business here is done. We will take our leave." he left with his men and the five recruits.

Elle looks at Justin, "Can you stand? she asked, he then tried to get back to his feet and while he did she looks the people inside the room. " You see him, know him. From now on, I suggest you keep your distance from him. He is Mine."

Everyone was feeling relief for Justin. Others are happy that the Queen took an interest in taking another partner to be with.

"Trevor take him to the infirmary. Who is the sister?" Eva came forward bowing her head, "Arrange his schedules, he will be attending class as the others do." she bowed and left, "As for the rest you may continue your activities." then she disappeared from there.

The next day, Justin came to school getting the attention he didn't expect. Girls are eyeing him and boys envy him. He became the instant popular guy in the place.

Justin POV

Great just as I thought I would live low-key, I just become the Queen's pet, a voice suddenly echoed in my head, "It's inevitable. You two are mates." I chuckled, it felt like I'm going crazy hearing the voice inside my head again. "Mates" the voice says. You mean food. (End of POV)

He came to a glass window, "I'm here to get my schedule." then a woman came out from the door.

"Oh Justin, you're here. I have your schedule here with me. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Trisha the Kingdom's mage, Elle's best friend."

"Nice to meet you." he offered his hand for a handshake but Trisha only look at it.

"I would want to shake your hand but I guess you heard what the Queen just said yesterday so no physical contact for me although I can come near you."

Reading his schedule, "I hope you don't mind me asking, but why do we need to go through learning this relationship 101? he asked.

She smiled, " We'll humans need to learn how to handle their partners in terms of the type of relationship they have. Others only chose their partners to serve them, or for companionship while others for their needs and desires. And because of it, the humans are taught the responsibilities."

He frowned, "I don't know what kind of relationship we have."

"Well yours is a special case. We wouldn't stick our noses to it. But whatever it is there's one thing I'm sure of. You're not for food, she gave up drinking human blood a long time ago." Trisha points out.

"Well that's a relief, I guess." but Justin wrinkled his forehead seeing his sister waiting at the top stairs. "What are you doing here Eva?"

She narrowed her gaze, "I'm making sure you attend class. And why are you still asking, big sister, is always excited for events like this."

"Yeah, it's just that I am not a kid anymore," he announced

Kelly came running, "Am I late?" the three just look at her, "I'm here to see you attend class since I know you're a bit stubborn."

"A princess, a mage, and my sister. You are just trying to see if the Queen made a good choice of choosing me, or if I am a good partner to the Queen. Don't you trust her judgment at all?"

Eva smacks Justin's head, "Don't get too cocky with us Justin, we are only looking after the welfare of the ruler of the kingdom."

"You are not just a partner but you are someone she will be relying on starting at this point until the day she dies," Kelly stated.

Trisha sighed, "Not just that, there's a lot more responsibilities when chosen to be the Vampire Queen's Mate."

Justin snaps a look at Trisha, "Mate?"

She smiled, "The Queen chooses her Mate just like a human does. If she feels there is a connection between the two of you, she will know and only she knows about it. This is the first time that she had ever chosen someone and owned him. The other one was different."

He frowned, "Other one, what other one? Does she already had a mate before me?" he asked

"My brother. He was a human too. But, he has not owned the way you do. It was more of a natural thing happening. So technically he is not considered the Queen's mate." Kelly informed.

"But in your case, the Queen aided you. She came as if she knows you were hurt. She felt your pain that's why she came. And that's the connection that a mate truly has." Trisha ended but someone spoke behind.

"I wonder why his heartbeat picks up a speed. I thought he was in trouble but he was only around you girls. Stop scaring him, he might lose a limb and back out." Elle walks towards them.

"Would you allow me to back out?" he asked looking straight in the eyes of the Queen.

"Fascinating isn't Trisha, why he can look straight into my eyes without any effect on him, and yet he is a human. Another thing is..." she went closer to his face, "I can't read his mind."

"I will look into that as soon as possible." Trisha bowed and vanished in their midst.

"You'll be late for class Justin. You should go now." he sighed

"Wait, you just have to miss class. I want to go out." Elle uttered. Justin gave his bag and his other things to Eva and walk toward Elle.

While he was walking toward her, the image of the wedding kept flashing in her head. She shut her eyes and held her throbbing head. But suddenly it disappears when she felt hands cupping her face. Her eyes snap open.

"Are you okay? Is your head still hurting?" he asked in a soft voice.

Elle couldn't believe that the pain in her head just go away instantly with a single touch from him. In her mind, she said, "Impossible, is he really my Mate?"

"How do you do that?" she asked.

He smiled, "I'm not sure of what you meant but, I have this voice in my head telling me how to help you at the moment."

"You do know you're still in school. Everyone has been staring at you guys. I suggest you teleport somewhere else." Kelly implied.

Justin smiled, "I got it princess." he held Elle's hands and led her out of the building.

Trisha appeared, "Have you ever seen the Queen become submissive?" both women shook their heads, "Then you just saw it now. I have not found anything about it with books, but I believe the Queen found her real mate."

"We need to keep an eye on him," Kelly said

"No, Julian was different with this one. With Justin, she felt him so there's no need for us to watch him. Coz I don't think she would allow him to stay away from her. But just in case, Trevor is close all the time."

"That's good Trish." looking at the smiling Eva, "Why are you smiling?" she asked Eva.

"Don't they make a great couple?" she gave them an innocent smile.

"You know, that's what I thought before. I just wished your brother is different than mine and would be willing to stay with her all the days of her life." Kelly ended.

Elle was seated under a tree on a hill looking at the whole Vampire Kingdom. It was the first time in her entire life being the vampire queen that she felt so calm and at peace and she would be lying if the man beside him has nothing to do with it. She sighed, "Can I ask you something? Do you feel different when I'm around you?"

Justin looks at her trying to get what she meant. It took him longer to respond. He was trying to assess his life before and after meeting her. Sure he heard voices in his head, but he already had it ever since he could remember it's just now he gets it more often.

He was deep in his thoughts when Elle spoke again. "I know you are a hell of confused now. Let me explain it thoroughly so I want you to listen to me, okay?" he nods

"There is a big difference between the life of humans and vampires. Humans are not just part of our food chain, there is this chance too of becoming our mate." Justin wrinkled his forehead.

For regular vampires, they determine their mates through connections but as for royalty we get to choose our mates." Justin slowly looks at Elle.

"I know, you want to know why I choose you as my mate. To be honest, I'm not even sure about it. I just felt different when you were around. I'm not supposed to feel any connection since I'm royalty but then I felt like I'm just a regular vampire when I'm with you. With no big responsibilities attached on my shoulder."

She bit her lower lips feeling a little awkward saying those words, "What I mean to say is. It's my first time to feel...free and hopeful and that's because of you." She chuckled seeing Justin's wide eyes reaction.

"I guess you don't understand the way I feel since you're human, and I can't explain more of it. But one thing is certain, you're my mate, I can feel you, I can hear you, I can even smell you wherever I go but..." she looks at him "Why can't I read your mind?" they both just look at each other.

Justin POV

This is insane. Did the Vampire Queen just confess to me her feelings? Well, I'm not supposed to feel bad about it, she is indeed very beautiful and sexy at the same time but, dude, she's a freaking vampire. How can a human and vampire have a future?

I was fighting my thoughts when the voice suddenly appear in my head, "She is our mate. You don't probably feel it right now but trust me when you both build a connection together you will understand everything she's feeling."

"Wait who are you? What are you doing here in my head? And why..."

"Oh stop your yapping. If you're only strong enough or even acknowledge me once then I should have helped you with your problems long-time ago."

I chuckled without even realizing it. I can't believe that the voice in my head just told me to shut it. He should be the one to shut up and get out of my head.

"Are you okay?" she asked, oh s**t she can see right through me. "Yeah, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to act that way. I just remembered something. I have never confessed before in my life."

"Relax, she can't read your mind, and that's what stirs up her interest in you, well, aside from you being her mate. And like I said I'm not going anywhere, because you and I are one. And the woman you are with is our mate. Accept it."

"Confessed?" she asked, dear lord she's so cute when she's confused...wait what? What am I even talking about? (End of POV)

Elle's POV

Why can't I read his mind? I don't understand. There is going on inside his head...but what?

"Justin, you may not understand my needs which you are supposed to fill. I know it's scaring you since I'm not even human but rest assured, I don't drink human blood at all, I used to but not anymore. And about me turning you to one of us, I won't do that not unless you want me to."

Now I'm sure he is even more scared, his heart rate just picks up a speed. And gulp like five times or more already.

"Look, to be honest, I don't have any idea about having a human mate and I'm nervous and scared as you so, can you just work things out with me?"

Is he smiling at me? I think I just saw him smile? Why is he smiling? And...what the hell did I just say? Nervous? Scared? Where in mages book did that come from? I am internally crying right now. When did I become such a drama queen? (End of POV)

Justin went on observing Elle with a small smile on his face, then the voice in his head spoke again, "She's worried, say something...are you even listening to me?" but he still nothing. "Step aside passing through.."

Justin suddenly held her hand, "My Queen, I am as clueless as you when it comes to being your mate, but I am willing to learn and try everything. I am at your disposal."

She smiled upon hearing his words, "Just stay with me, stay away from trouble, and do as I say and everything will be okay." she answered back while he just nods his head.

Night came, inside his room, "I am at your disposal, are you crazy? She's a vampire and I am her meal." while looking at the mirror. "And how did you do that, it's like you taking charge of my whole being?"

The person in the mirror rolled his eyes, "I can even do a lot more. But not until you embrace who you are."

"There, there it is again. I don't know what you mean when you say embracing myself. I mean who are you. Do you even have a name?" Justin went on with his whining and complaining about sharing a body with someone until...

"See these?" his hand suddenly created a blue flame and that shuts him up. "You can do this. What if I tell you that you had this power for so long that you don't even have a clue. And as for my name, you will only get to know it when you accept your fate and earn it."

"What am I?" Justin stared at his reflection who is smirking at him right now.

"My question is, who are you?" then the voice vanished.

The next day, Justin was seated in the school garden. He was staring at his hand. He still couldn't believe what he saw last night.

"Who am I?" he said in a soft voice but was audible enough for someone close to hear.

"Are you okay? It seems like you are confused about your identity?" Elle asked while she sat beside him.

"I'm fine. What are you doing here? I thought you already left to patrol around the borders?" he asked

"I was about to but then I remember that I have someone to say goodbye to." she sighed after saying that. "This mate thing has turned me into somebody else. It made me do stuff. Sorry about that."

Justin tried to stop himself from blushing but failed, "You and I both. Anyway, take care of yourself." she hummed in response.

"I'll see you later then," she said, she was about to kiss him on the cheek but Justin suddenly turned his head and their lips connect.

They didn't move from their position, both their eyes widened in shock, Elle was about to pull away when she saw Justin start to close his eyes as he move his lips. Feeling an arm snake around her waist, she slowly cupped his face as the kiss deepened.

She again tried to break it but connects their forehead instead, "I guess I need to go now." still with her eyes closed.

He nodded, "Come back soon." he too didn't open his eyes yet.

"I will, bye." She kissed his cheek and left in an instant feeling shy about what just happened while Justin cannot stop himself from blushing.

He was about to walk away when his ears suddenly rings in a very hurting manner. He knelt on the ground holding both his ears and groan in pain. He slowly open his eyes and all he can see was all in red then slowly it became brighter. In his amazement, he gasps, Elle was already far away but he can still see them clearly

He can also hear whispers. He looks at the two girls who are talking under the shade of the tree. They kept on glancing his way and without knowing how he did it, he was able to hear what they are talking about.

"Eva's brother is lucky. The queen gets to choose him. He is such a big trouble maker." the first girl says.

"Yeah, I know. I hope he will be of assistance to the Queen, not a big burden." says the other.

He was still listening when another hurting sound rang in his ears then he heard all the sounds around him.

"Make it stop, make it stop..." he said in a low voice while he covers his ears. Then he shouts, "Make it stop!"

Everyone looks at him in a very weird way. He ran away as fast as he could farther from the crowd. He reached the hill again where Elle and he were the last time.

"What happened to me?" then the voice in his head replied.

"Your senses are generating. A simple gesture made a big difference. It may be just a kiss for humans but in this world, that's what we call connection. Your senses are beginning to develop. Your sight and your hearing in particular."

"I don't get it. How could that be possible?" he ran his fingers through his hair?

"Do you still believe you are just a regular mortal? No humans can have two personalities in one body..."

Meanwhile in Elle's fleet. "Nolan, let's split up so we will be able to finish patrolling the borders in time.." she instructed.

While she was giving instruction, a group of rogues was waiting for the right time to attack.

"I guess we are lucky this time. They are splitting up leaving the Queen unguarded."

"But boss, I don't think she needs someone to protect her?"

"Everybody needs someone to help them. Let's wait for them to split up, then send in the bait."

Nolan speaks, "Trevor you take the west part, Samuel at the south, I will take the east, the Queen will continue on North. Let's move out. Please be careful my Queen."

The three main Knights bowed before they went in different directions.

"Keep your eyes open boys. Let's go." Elle ordered.

Back in school, Justin was feeling uneasy. After the whole experience, this time his heart seems to palpitate at a fast rate.

"Are you okay Justin?" Eva asked.

"I don't know Eva, I have been feeling uneasy. I can't seem to stop thinking about her. It felt like something is wrong."

Eva frowned, "Do you trust your instinct, Justin?"

"Where are they heading Eva? I need to go to her?" he said, "Why?"," What do you mean why, I think she's in trouble." he walked out but before he could twist the knob, he shouted while holding his left part of his stomach.

"Justin! What's wrong?"

"Elle!" called out her name when she suddenly heard her voice inside his head, "Justin!"," What happened Elle. Are you hurt?" trying to bear the pain. "I've been stabbed!" hearing her reply, Justin tried to stand to go to her but to no avail.

He closes his eye, "Where are you, I need your help." talking to the other inside him. "Bring me to her.", "Why go to her when you can bring her to you."

He opened his eyes and Eva saw a whole different person. "Come to me, Elle!" with a flash of light she appeared in his arms bleeding.

Trisha rushes toward Elle but looks at him in horror. "Who are you?!"
