Chapter ElevenHide and Seek James looked around warily. They had stopped in the shadow of a supermarket, watching as Joe peeked around the corner of the building. The ex-soldier held up a finger, waited a moment, and waved the small group forward. They hadn’t spoken more than a word at a time since they left the truck, relying instead on rough signals. The building overlooked a large car park serving the supermarket and surrounding shops, easily holding at least five hundred cars. It was packed now. The baking sun reflected off the glass panes, blinding them from several directions at once.
