Since ancient times, the human world and the Beast Realm have been engaged in a protracted war for the sake of land acquisition. After millennia of conflict, with the Beast Realm steadily retreating, the war finally came to an end a thousand years ago, with both sides agreeing to a truce. The Beasts were allowed to retain their lands, but on the condition that every Beast must obey humans and be summoned at any time and place to assist them.Since then, a new profession emerged in the human world - the Summoner. All humans were eligible to become Summoners, and this profession quickly flourished in the human world—Today, we are going to tell the story of a Summoner... Oh, no, a Summoned Beast.

For the Norsers, there is no fairness in this world. From birth, they are doomed to spend their lives serving humans. They are forced to bear tattoos that serve as individual identifiers, even the newly born fantastical beasts are no exception. This constant summoning caused strong backlash in the centuries following the end of the Great War, leading to several historically significant revolts, all of which ultimately failed. It sounds pitiful, without their own stance, lives constantly interrupted, and spending a lifetime as slaves to humans. It's a tragic situation no matter how you look at it. Yet, this slave system underwent a transformation after a thousand years. "I wouldn't say it's a transformation, things are still the same. We're still slaves to humans, but we've grown accustomed to it. In fact, it's become a part of our lives," said a rabbit dressed in a neat, local gentleman's attire, sitting on a table and addressing the audience below. His audience was diverse, including fluffy sheep, a girl with goat horns, a boy with a striking rooster feather cape and a rooster comb on his head, and a girl with a cowbell around her neck who was dozing off, hugging a soft, fluffy sheep. "Look! This is a textbook I stole—er, brought back from the human world," the rabbit hopped excitedly, pushing a book almost as tall as him from behind. With his tiny body, he struggled to prop the book up and flipped through it in front of everyone. The book was beautifully illustrated with drawings of fantastical beasts, each page featuring a beast with its summoning tattoo and introduction listed below. "These are the famous fantastical beasts recorded in human textbooks!" As soon as he said that, the fantastical beasts below shone with excitement, even the drowsy girl woke up. The book depicted a knight in full black armor, holding his helmet and riding a majestic black steed, his headless body wielding a sword, looking majestic and formidable. "This is the noble Sir Legance, the headless knight—a demonic fantastical beast with an S-class summoning rank! Legend has it that his sword can sever any soul bond, making him one of humanity's legendary summoned beasts. It's said that three hundred years ago, a human hero summoned him and thereby saved their country." "Wow, amazing! Saving an entire country!" "But why is his tattoo in here? Won't that allow people to summon him at will?" "Human summoners capable of summoning S-class fantastical beasts are extremely rare, so even if everyone knows his summoning tattoo, there might be only a handful of people who can summon him throughout the year." "Amazing! It's truly an honor for us fantastical beasts..." "Hey, you agree, right? Nor?" Upon hearing someone call his nickname, Norsers, who had been lying in the corner, slowly opened his eyes. He appeared to be a man in his mid-twenties, with beautiful green eyes, dark, shiny curly hair, and a face that could be considered handsome by human standards. Dressed in all black, with a fluffy white scarf around his neck, he looked human at first glance—except for the curved goat horns on his head. "Yeah, it's impressive." After casually dismissing it, he prepared to close his eyes and continue his nap when a furry little hand tugged at his horns. He frowned and reluctantly looked at the rabbit who had somehow jumped in front of him. "Come on, as the only B-class fantastical beast among us, you need to be more spirited! Don't just sleep all the time." Facing the rabbit's scolding, he yawned loudly, sat up, and ruffled his hair, which had become disheveled from sleeping. "But what you're talking about is nothing but fantasies for us." The rabbit's face turned green, as he spoke the truth. Compared to those handsome and powerful combat-oriented fantastical beasts, they, the livestock-type fantastical beasts, are basically excluded from such missions. Most of the time, they are summoned to help humans with farming. For the rabbit, his most common task is herding sheep. He knows this well, as his most frequent jobs involve farming or being a mascot, with some people even summoning him just to pet his soft fur. "Just, just keep trying, and someday, we'll be just like them! We can't let other fantastical beasts look down on us forever!" The rabbit stamped his foot, speaking angrily "Exactly! Our farming village can also excel in combat missions! Someday, I'll show everyone how capable we are!" The boy with rooster feathers stood up too, enthusiastically echoing the sentiment with a surge of emotion. Noel looked at the commotion in the classroom, feeling detached and once again yawned in boredom. He thought about the historical books on revolution he had read this morning and compared it to the present, completely baffled by how the world had turned out like this. Indeed— This world, once loathing enslavement by humans, had now transformed into one where being summoned held the ultimate meaning of existence.
