Earlier, mum had came to knock on my door waking me up from my Saturday afternoon nap that Pa-pa sends for me. There was a thumb in my chest immediately she said that. I already knew the reason or to say guessed the reason. it's the sixth month of my 18th year and I'm still dragging my feet on getting married. At this age, my senior sister Christine had happily selected her husband and wedding preparation were already taking place. And here I am still lurking on who to choose between Young Sir Lucas and Young Master Gaston. These two were young guys my age and extremely powerful in the state.. we all go to the same school, but not in the same class though. But they aren't just my kind of guys.. they are not clumsy.. they are way far from being clumsy.. these are capable emperos of theirs and their father's estate.. always the dream of all the girl's in school..yet, you know, these kind of guys like hunting innocent pretty girl's like me.. and now, I have two of them on my neck..both offering a huge bride price and 8 years support to my younger siblings.. my senior sister's husband, a CEO of one of the biggest companies in our state offered me 5 years support added to his Bride price.. Now the five years are over, and it's my turn to do my younger twin siblings the same favour..and here I am, wishing I wasn't born into a family where the female children are objects of fortune in the form of marriage. I protested when he cut me short with a loud yell and banged his hands on the table, shaking vigorously with anger "ENOUGH!!" Was the yell, startling me.. "This week or you settle for Greg's Young Master" Dad said calmly still shaking though..but his words shocked me, sending fear to my lungs.. He's talking about the dreaded guy I've always heard about.. I've never seen him though because he never shows himself to the other students but I've heard so much about him.. he's so scary that even the narrator, my best friend Julie shakes literally while narrating him.. "Yes.. you heard me right! Greg's servants announced it yesterday, that his last born needs a wife since all his brothers are already married.." dad explained after he saw the look on my face.. "You're heartless!" I managed to say, shocking myself at the mustered boldness.. But I couldn't take it! How could my own father? "You want to subject your daughter to that devil in human flesh as a wife! Now I understand.. you hate me!" I said admist tears "You know what's at stake here.. you have just one week" Dad says and resumes to whatever he was doing as I stared at him in disbelief.. then slowly walked out back to my room to decide my fate. Cole's mansion*** Cole's Pov My house is full of girls and boys... Sluts shaking their exposed body parts to attract me.. but none of them do.. as much as they want to put their body on me, none of them dares.. because they know what will happen to them.. my guards are alert.. Yes.. there's a party going on right now in my house organized by my sister Jane.. the queen of parties.. With disgust I brought out my short knife and slit her throat, then stab the guard close to me for letting this cheap s**t get her body on me. The crowd gasp in shock as the said girl slips to the floor holding her throat which was pumping blood and the guard fell right beside her clutching his chest trying to stop the bleeding but it's too deep. They both fall lifessly on the floor after a few seconds.. "Cole! I said no killing!" Jane yapped "As long as they followed the rules" I completed and threw the cigarette on the bloody floor and took a gum to chew.. Jane rolls her eyes and walks up to me while the party went on like nothing happened and by guards take the corps away. "I'll just settle their families later.. did you hear that dad has announced a wife for you?" She asked admist chuckles because she knows how pathetic it sounds to get a wife for a monster like me.. she'll die on our first sight. As she said it, I fummed in anger... I heard something like that but didn't take it serious. Dad needs to know when to stop! I stood up Immediately and moved towards the door.. "Where are you going now?" Jane asked but I ignored her as I banged out of the house, hopped into my car and began the ride to my dad's estate with anger. It's a long trip to dad's house.. I might arrive at night and I'll have to pass through the woods but I don't mind.. this has to stop! I'm not 12 anymore! That Old Man! Authoress Pov Meanwhile in Katherine's room, she's seen moving back and forth thinking on how to escape her predicament...looking through her window far away to the woods deep in thought. Just then an idea struck her mind.. "I'm going to run away!" She mutters staring at the woods far away from her window on the 12 floor of their rented apartment..she could see far from her window. She smirked... "No one will find me in those woods" she muttered again...
