[A/N: Hey there! Sorry for the wait! Hope you guys didn't lose interest, but in case if you hadn't- here's Chapter 13. Enjoy!]
Right after peer mediation, Chase decided to take off and go before the jock decides to hold him back. Taking a left, he decided to go hit up the corner store for some snacks before going home. He had a mean sweet tooth.
As he made his way down the hill, he could see Zayn and his crew slowly come into view. Crap, he forgot to let them know about the thing. Might as well tell them now.
With a huge smile, he pulled the tie out of his hair and lightly jogged towards them, embracing the other male.
"Hey Mamba," he greeted him before pulling away. "Where the hell were you last night? We got concerned."
"Sorry... had all-night football practice. Gotta buckle up for the huge game tomorrow!" He flashed a semi-fake smile.
"I see. Make sure you call next time alright? Here, give me your number and I'll give you mine," he pulled out his phone.
Samuel casually walked out of the grandiose double doors of the prep school. He was a little hurt that Chase decided to leave so abruptly, but f**k it. He got into his silver chrome Mercedes-Benz and revved up the engine, pulling out of the parking lot and onto the street.
He went his usual way- down the hill and past the corner store. As he neared the bottom of the hill, he couldn't help but catch a glimpse of the familiar curly-haired boy. He slowed down, keeping his distance, but being close enough to observe what was going on.
He could barely hear what they were saying, yet he could tell from their body language that they were being happy and friendly.
A little too friendly.
He watched Chase and the mysterious guy play around, witnessing how the male would smack his ass and pull him by the waist. Chase looked so much happier with him.
His hands gripped the steering wheel, hard. How f*****g dare he?! Did that night mean NOTHING to him!? Samuel took a deep breath. Why did it even matter that much anyway? He just wanted to get his d**k wet, that's all. It meant nothing.
-Saturday Morning-
~"Oh say can you see? By the dawn's early light?"~
Samuel groaned. He personally didn't see the point of the whole singing tradition at the beginning. It was only a high school football game. His eyes shifted over to player number 11, Chase. He was the quarterback, one of the most important players. Samuel, being the left guard, was responsible for blocking and protecting the running back as well as the quarterback.
After the singer was done, the opposing teams took their places in the middle of the field. They were on the offensive end, so they arranged themselves as such.
Chase stood, hunched over with the center right behind him, ready to pass him the ball. Samuel took his position to the left, but just a bit behind Chase, readying himself for the defense.
"One! Two! HIKE!"
The teams sprung into action, the ball being passed from the center, to the quarterback, and straight to the running back. The running back began sprinting across the field, the opposing team trailing right behind him. The rest of the team did their jobs, roughly jostling the other players to clear the path for their teammate. Chase in the meantime made various hand signals to communicate with his team. The opposing players attempted to tackle Chase as the male was making his way down the field. The ball was eventually passed to him; however, he could barely get a chance to run before he was tackled roughly by two guys twice his size. The whistle blew.
Samuel scowled, watching the two men walk away leaving the quarterback to stumble to his feet. A part of him wanted to help him up, though he was still very upset.
He was gonna kick some ass.
"Mr. Champion!" Samuel could hear Mr. Barr's voice throughout the constant chatter of the crowd.
"Yo," The former left guard walked up to the elderly male before getting his ear horribly pinched.
"What the hell is wrong with you?! Did you realize how many fouls you pulled off today?!" The man scolded, finally releasing his ear.
"Ow! Not really!" He rubbed his red, sore ear.
"FIVE Samuel! FIVE fouls! My God, it's a good thing that the other team sucked or else we would've been done for!"
"Sorry Mr. Barr," he grumbled, his eyes shifting to where Chase was in the bleachers.
"Don't let it happen again," the coach warned.
"Yes, sir," he nodded before jogging over to the bleachers.
"Ah, Samuel! You did amazing!" Domi ran over to her big brother, pulling him into a tight hug.
"You fouled like hell though," he heard a familiar, mature voice. He looked up to see his mother smiling at him.
"Oh, hey mom," he pulled away from Domi, giving the older brunette a hug and a kiss.
"Hey honey, how's everything?"
"Mom! Samuel has a boyfriend!" Domi pulled at her mother's coat like a small child.
"Really now?" She rose an eyebrow with a smirk.
"He's not really my boyfriend," Samuel scratched the back of his head, bashfully. "Besides, he's upset at me right now."
"Why though?" The blonde girl c****d her head sideways.
"I don't know, but I'm gonna figure it out," he looked over to where Chase was chatting it up with his friends. "I'll be right back."
-Chase's POV-
"Ahh, Chase! You did so great!~" Ken hopped over to the Trini, draping his arms around him. "This calls for a celebration!"
"Indeed," Antwon smiled, taking a mental note of Ken's attire- a cheerleading outfit and some pigtails. "You know these people?"
"Yeah! They're friends from...work!" Chase flashed a goofy grin.
"I see. You never told me what your second job was," his uncle rose an eyebrow, crossing his arms.
"I, uh...," the curly-haired boy looked around anxiously for help.
Just then Samuel had approached the group wearing a scowl.
"Chase," the jock spoke.
"Ugh, what do YOU want?" Chase scowled with an eye roll.
Samuel's eyes shifted over to Zayn and the others before it shifted back to him.
"We're having a team meet-up on the hills after this. See you there," he walked off.
Chase groaned. He already knew this was code for "Meet me at my house, now." Hell, might as well get this over with.
"What was THAT all about?" Ken said, eyeing him.
"Nothing. I'll see you guys tonight, okay?"
"Leaving us already?" Zayn strided over to him. His hand was grazing his waist, but thought better of it and stuck it in his pocket. Antwon flashed him a quizzical look.
"Yeah...I'll be back. I promise."
"You better be. Or I'll hold this against you forever," Ken teased, sticking out his tongue.
"Want me to drive you up there?" Antwon twirled his car key around his finger.
"Eh, it's okay," Chase flashed him a soft smile. "I'll be back, okay?"
"Alright, call me," Antwon nodded before watching his nephew walk off.
"Okay, so you have me here in your house. Now what?" Chase scowled, tapping his foot impatiently. He didn't want to come here, quite frankly. There was a celebration the others were planning for his victory, yet he was here with this moron.
"Can you please just sit down?" Samuel asked nicely for a change, something that Chase picked up on.
"Fine," he huffed, sitting on the couch, yet keeping his distance from the jock.
"Listen," Samuel started off, turning his body towards him. He internally swallowed his pride before continuing. "I apologize. I really, really didn't mean to push anything on you. I was just... figuring myself out and I took full advantage of you. I'm sorry," his face flushed slightly upon Chase's facial features softening up. "Will you forgive me?"
The Trini stared at him for a bit, and for a second Samuel couldn't read the expression on his face before he spoke.
"I forgive you," he flashed him a small smile. He hesitated before he spoke again. "...You didn't force me to do anything with you."
Samuel furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
"You didn't force me to do any of those things. I actually wanted it. I wanted you to touch me," his voice softened as he moved closer to the jock.
"Then why-?"
"I didn't know what to do. No one ever made me feel the way you made me feel. I hated you, really. You blackmailed me and we constantly fought, yet it felt so... taboo. The fact that you had the power to do anything you wanted with me...I kinda liked it," he admitted, looking down and twiddling fingers bashfully.
"Tch!" Samuel smirked. "Masochist."
"I'M NOT!" He snapped, flushing a deep shade of red. "I just...Well-"
"So you practically started an argument with me, then ignored me for what?"
"Look, I didn't know how to sort out my feelings, okay? The pressure of paying the bills and keeping my stripping job a secret so I won't get disowned by my uncle and a high-class prep school along with figuring out my sexuality really isn't a pill that's easy to swallow. Then toss in the fact that the guy who's making me question my sexuality happens to be the one guy I f*****g hate AND has the power to end my life, and what do I do? I give him my virginity in his sister's AKA MY EX-GIRLFRIEND'S bedroom. So excuse me if I'm a little high-strung," he huffed, out of breath.
There was a pause as Samuel looked on, still wearing a little smirk before he began to chuckle.
"What's so funny?" Chase scowled.
"Ah, it's funny how life works isn't it?" He flashed him a goofy grin.
"Oh, stop with the Gandhi s**t," he rolled his eyes before he felt a hand grasp his chin, pulling him face-to-face with Samuel.
"Stop over thinking things. You're making things too complicated. You don't need to stress things so much. So what if you just so happen to be into guys and girls? It's no one else's business but yours. If you enjoy it then why not just be happy. Plus you're a senior all you have to do is wait a few more months and you'll be done with school. Domi is obviously okay with this so forget her. Why would I comfort you and go through all this trouble if I was planning to ruin you? Plus I haven't made you do anything in how long? Relax Chase. Everything is going to work out."
Chase averted his gaze, his face flushing once more. He always saw the asshole, pretentious Samuel, but it was nice to see a very sweet, down-to-earth version of the jock. It made his heart thump. His honey eyes drifted towards his lips. He wanted to kiss him for being such a sweetheart. God, what was wrong with him? His hand was still grasping his chin. Chase closed his eyes and leaned in, pressing his soft nude lips to Samuel's rougher ones.
Samuel returned the chaste kiss before pulling away, smiling softly. His hands slowly trailed down his shoulders before they found its way into Chase's hands, interlocking his fingers with the Trini's.
"Samuel," the curly-haired male murmured, looking down at their interlaced fingers.
"Mm?"
"...What are we?" He was looking up at him now, biting his lip.
"Whatever you want it to be," he responded.
"Mm," he layed his head on his shoulder. "Can we go steady?" He played around with Samuel's fingers.
"Okay," he buried his face into his hair, planting a kiss on the top of his head.
"Thanks for understanding, Sammy~" Chase spoke to him, endearingly, shutting his eyes and allowing himself to drift into a deep slumber.
