Got Her

AVA POINT OF VIEW

 Lacey and I are running down the hall opening doors looking for Rose.

A man came by her house earlier today, looking for Lacey. He came to tell us that it was too late and that Kate was going to kill Rose. It was then that I say another side of her that I didn't know she had. She jumped on the man, tackling him to the ground, before straddling him and punching him, over and over. 

I had to pull her off of him before he went unconscious so that we could find out where Rose was. Rose was about 40 miles away from us. It would have taken us about an hour to get there but with our reckless driving we got there in half an hour, maybe less.

We hear screams coming from what I think is the basement. We take a quick glance at each other and run down the stairs. Opening the door, we were greeted with the sight of Rose straddling Kate, punching her over and over and choking her. Might I say that her punches were not light. It was like she was trying to kill her.

I call her name running forward. the closer that I get I can see that Kate is really close to unconsciousness. 

"Rose stop!" I yell reaching her. My words fall on deaf ears as she continues to plow her face. I grab her and pull her into my chest. she keeps trying to get back to Rose as I hold her to me. 

I grab her face with both hands, forcing her to look at me in my eyes. She freezes when sees me, and her body calms at my touch. She looks at me as if she cannot believe that I am actually here. She leans forward and places her lips on mine, and I immediately kiss her back. it's not a rough or dominating kiss, like the ones we used to share. Its compassionate, showing that she  misses me and is glad that I am here.

Too soon for my liking she pulls away. I opened my mouth to speak but before I can she falls limp in my arms. I began shaking her shoulders trying to get her to open her eyes. "Rose.. Rose baby get up.." You can hear the desperation clear in my voice. "Rose please, please, I'm here now, we are here, please get up" I say once more. But she doesn't even move. Her breathing looks uneven and short. I began mumbling incoherent words to her, begging her to get up and telling her that she is safe now.

"Ava." I hear Lacey say behind me. her voice startles me and I jump. "she could have internal bleeding. I know that she has a couple of broken ribs that I can see, but I cannot tell how deep." that seems to snap me out of what ever I was in. I carefully lift her and  carry her back up the stairs, to Lacey's car.

Her head is on my lap and im running my hands through her hair. I kiss her head again and mumble against her forehead that I am so sorry that all of this happened to her.

"Lacey Pines?" We hear a nurse call from the front. We race to the front, ready to see Rose. Her and Lacey start talking and I zone out. When they finally get done talking she leads us to Rose's room. We get to the room and I stop at the sight of Rose lying in the hospital bed. She is so pale, besides the bruises on her face. She is still the most beautiful girl I have seen. I walk over to her bed and slowly sink down into the chair beside her bed and pull it closer to her. 

"what's wrong with her?" I ask no one in particular.

" she had a lot of internal bleeding. But we stopped it. She's in a coma of A Sort... But she should be able to wake up soon.." I hear the nurse say from behind me. 

"Will she be okay? When will she wake up?"

"She will be okay, I can assure you that. She will wake up after her body rests and heals. That should not be long." I nod my head to not seem rude. She excuses herself and I lay my head down by Rose's side. I start crying and Lacey comes up to the other side of Rose's bed, and starts talking to her. 

I need you to wake up, Rose. I just got you back.. I have to lose you again ?

I think at some point I fell asleep, because the next thing i know Lacey is waking me up telling me to go get some rest . I stand and stretch. I look back down at Rose. Her face looks almost peaceful. I keep staring at her in my own world, when the silence is interrupted by a knock. Lacey lets the nurse in and she comes in pushing a cart and what looks like bath material on it. I grip Rose's hand tighter. I didn't realize that she is on the other side of the bed until she calls out to me. "..Miss?" I look up at her and raised an eyebrow.

"I'm going to need you to let her hand go." She replies. That makes me growl. 

Growling now Ava?

Lacey Immediately rushes over to me, once she sees that I am about to explode. She starts whispering in my ear that she just needs to take Rose a bath and that i can hold her again. I let go of Rose's hand and kiss it. Putting her hand down, I turned to glare at the nurse. 

"Hurt her and i will kill you." That's all i say before I remove myself from Lacey's hold and walk out of Rose's room. I find a restroom down the hall from Rose's room and head there. Once inside, I walk to the sink and rinse my face with some cold water. I sit there for a moment and I let out a bitter laugh. I don't know why I'm laughing.. It's probably the only thing keeping me from crying right now. I rinse my face again and it finally dawns on me what i said to that nurse. 

She was just trying to do her job, and I practically threatened to kill her. I walk out of the bathroom, after giving myself a once over, and head back to Rose's room. When I get there I see that the nurse is just about to leave. "..Excuse me, Nurse" i say trying no5 to scare her anymore than I already have. She turns around and watched me closely. 

"I would uhh…" I clear my throat and continue. "I would like to apologize for earlier. You were doing your job and i was being rude.  It's just that i haven't.. I miss her and i didnt want to let her go or for her to get hurt.. So again I am very sorry." 

She looks at me for a moment before nodding her head and smiling. " It is okay, I would feel the same way if it were my husband. You said what any loving partner would say. It is truly okay."  I nod and watch her leave. When she leaves I notice that Lacey is not here. I walk over to Rose's bed and bend down to place my lips on her forehead.  

"God, what do you do to me?" I question even though I know she can't hear me. For the next couple hours I just sit and watch her. Lacey came in earlier and sat on the sofa. Right now she is asleep, and i am still at Rose's side. I'm holding her hand in my hand while caressing her knuckles. 

She is so f*****g beautiful.. I say to myself. And so mine.. But what if she doesn't love me anymore? What if she doesn't want to see me? I look over to her face. 

I feel like im the reason she is here. This is my fault. 

I yawn and pull myself closer to the bed. 

I need you to wake up sweetheart. I miss you. And with that, I fell asleep.
