The Bar
I walk into the main room seeing my bartenders working, focused on serving drinks to sleazy patrons. I sit down in the VIP section watching over the organized chaos as a server brings me a glass of my favorite wine. "Good evening Boss, the delivery is on its way here. It will arrive in a little over an hour." She says keeping her head low. I wave her off back to her main job, I look over seeing the bouncers guarding the girls as two drag some drunk out and throw him into the parking lot. I see a tall figure shrouded in a cloak slip in around the bouncers up to the bar. I watch him order as my bartender smiles at him, he keeps his head down as she slides a glass of dark liquid to him. I look over the crowd seeing some of the men watching him intently, I stand up to get a better view through the dim light. He pulls his hood forward as two men stand up and nod at each other and start making their way toward him.
I slip through the dark heavy curtains and stand behind the bar just out of sight looking under his hood, I see his eyes shimmer an iridescent green. The men approach him with guns to his back and I fly over the bar as everyone panics screaming as the hooded man sits there unaffected. I kick their feet from under them as a shot rings through the room. I hold a knife to each man's throat as the hooded man stands over me watching the crowd cower away. My bouncers freeze seeing me. I growl at the men and they drop their guns. "Take them" I snarl to my bouncers as the hooded man kneels behind me; I stand up and look at him placing my hand on his shoulder. He stands back up and I wave for him to follow me. I walk us into my office.
I step through the door away from prying eyes with the man, I sit behind my desk as he stands in front of me. "Drop your hood." He drops his hood showing green dragon eyes and scales growing up his neck to just below his left eye. I smile at him looking over his muscular frame covered in tattoos. I see his horns shimmer as the light reflects off of their surface. I nod my head, swaying my tail behind me as I stand up and circle him sizing him up. "What are you doing here?" He keeps his eyes on the floor staying silent. I stand eye to eye with him. "Are you in danger?" He nods and I lean on my desk. I sigh waving my hand for him to sit. He pulls off his cloak and sits keeping his head down. "Thank you for saving me, I owe you my life." He says seemingly annoyed. I cross my arms flicking my tail, thinking. "You don't seem happy about it." He looks away from me as I lean down to his level. "Looks like I have a new second hand then," I say with a cold smile.
"Do you have a name?" He nods, making eye contact. "Farras," He says in a gruff voice. His horns glow as a green band appears on my wrist sealing the contract. "Alright, well since you now work for me you will be protected," I say as he nods. "You will basically be my bodyguard and assistant. You will have responsiblities solely based on security among a few other things. You will have to keep your horns and face covered to not draw attention to yourself, I'm sure you can figure out how to do that." He nods propping his elbows on his knees. "I understand your not a man of many words so figure out a way to tell me if you don't trust a client that nobody will notice, my organization specializes in many things, for example; protection detail."
My phone pings with the delivery being confirmed waiting as the back door. "Lets go. Keep your hood up." He pulls his cloak back on covering his face with his hood as we walk to the back door. I step through seeing armed guards pushing a wooden crate against the wall. "Lady Raven it is nice to see you again." An older man steps out of the shadows as Fairras steps closer behind me. Two of my bouncers come out and open the crate, revealing guns and rare herbs. They nod at me. "Thank you for coming all this way Mr. Cypress, you really didn't have to."
I pull an envelops out of my back pocket handing it to Fairras. "It was no trouble at all, and I see you have a new pet under your charge." Fairras hands him the payment then steps back to my side. "He is my new right hand," I say glaring at Mr. Cypress. "If that will be all I have a bar to manage, Safe travels home." My bouncers take the crate into the stock room as we step back inside. Fairras looks at me confused. "Your not a pet, Your a dragon meant to be respected," I say with an irritated tone as we walk into the VIP area. "Thank you," He says leaning back on the wall behind my chair. I smile seeing the patrons enjoying their evening.
