CHAPTER 3: COLLEGE HERE I COME!!!!

1648 Words
“The day has finally arrived, the long-awaited day when I will finally leave this town and state; I have never left my state before; I went to school here, lived here, and pretty much did everything here.” I woke up really early and was just staring at my ceiling and looking around my room I will miss my room so much, I completely forgot I hadn't packed some things into my bag plus my mum bought many extra stuffs I needed to pack, I got out of bed and stretched my body, music will be perfect to spice things up. I reached for my phone and activated Bluetooth. I went to my playlist and began searching for a song that fit my mood. Oh, I found it, “Dynamite by BTS,” and I am a huge BTS fan. They have a song for every mood. I couldn't stop dancing around my room as soon as the song started playing. I, too, began packing my belongings. I need to finish packing before my mother calls me, and before I could finish, she called my name. “Elena!!” I hear my mother's voice calling from her room; I am almost finished; all that remains is for me to pack my panties and shampoos and take a shower. I entered my bathroom and turned on the shower without allowing the water to touch me. I stretched my legs to see if the water was cold or hot. Fortunately, it was cold water; I can't stand hot water right now, so I quickly took a shower and grabbed my towel. I packed everything I needed for my bathroom and placed it in the bag. I gathered my toiletries and began cleaning my wet body. “Elena!” My mother said loudly, “Come to my room, we need to talk.” What do we need to discuss? I was thinking to myself. Please don't make it about me avoiding boys and bad friends. Susan informed me that her mother had given her “those” lectures before she left for college. I suppose it's my turn now, but I know better than to hang out with bad friends and boys. I'm on my way; please don't call my name again!! I yelled and began walking slowly to her room. The knot in my stomach tightened with each step I took towards her room; I hate those weird conversations, about boys and s*x. I signed heavily, opened her room, and walked in. My mother has already dressed and was brushing her hair in front of her. She was already dressed up and brushing her hair in front of her dresser, while I was still in my towels. “Sit down,” she instructed. She appears solemn. What is she trying to tell me? She stood up and walked towards me, reaching for my hands, I swallowed hard, and she sat down close to me on the bed, with a serious stern expression on her face. Elena, Going to college is one thing, but how you live your life in college is the most important thing. The moment you walk into college, you are already making your bed, and as you make your bed, you will lie on it. Because your father and I will not be there to tell you what to do and what not to do, you may experience a rush of freedom and begin doing things that will ruin your life. “Do you know that the friends you make in college shape your future? She said I agreed with a nod of my head. Choose good girls and boys who know what they're doing in school, and avoid bad boys and girls. You see s*x, “I have always avoided the s*x talk, but now I know I can't avoid it,” It’s something you should have with your husband not just any guy. I married your father as a virgin and would love for you to do the same, don't let any boy sweet talk you into having s*x with him because once they get what they want, they will leave you. Every woman is proud of her virginity..... She hugged me after what felt like an hour of her preaching about me avoiding s*x, drugs, alcohol, bad boys, bad friends, and getting pregnancy. She made me promise her I wouldn't let her down. And we both cried, I will miss her so much. I went to my room, changed into the dress I had already chosen, and we drove away with my luggage. My uncle drove us because my mum wasn't used to driving long distances. While they were both talking, I opened my phone and began looking at the pictures I took of my room, house, and the pictures my uncle helped me and my mum take. I put on my headset and began playing; “Inner Child by V of BTS,” he is actually my group bias. My eyes became tired, and I fell asleep. “Elena” Wake up. My mum tapped me on the shoulder, I opened my eyes lazily, and I saw we were in front of my school gate. “Welcome to Stanford University” was boldly inscribed into the gate. I almost screamed out of excitement, the school is so big; students were everywhere; some were coming in while others were leaving; we began driving in; I had never seen anything like this before. The campus looked even better in person than it did in the brochures and photos I'd seen online. The structures are massive and elegant, and everyone appears to be in their world. Hundreds of people crowd the area, with parents hugging and kissing their children goodbye, freshmen dressed in Stanford University gear from head to toe, and some wandering around lost. Would it be possible for me to fit in here? Everyone seems intimidating. We had a brief orientation, and I was given my dorm key along with a palm filet containing a map and guide around the school as well as directions to my dorm. My mum and uncle assisted me in carrying my belongings to the front of my dorm room. Parents are not permitted in, it was stated boldly on the signboard, so my mother could not accompany me in. She told me not to follow them down and that I should just go in. We hugged and cried once more. I hugged my uncle as well, and we said our goodbyes. I watched them as they walked back to the car, and my mother would turn and wave while I repeated the gesture until I couldn't see them anymore. I turned to face the door and prayed briefly before knocking; I would rather not use the key and barge in. “Hey,” a girl said as she opened the door; she is quite lovely, with long black hair and brown eyes, and she appears quite intimidating. “H…hey… “I was told this is my room,” I almost stammered as I looked inside the room and saw two other girls inside, all of who were staring at me.” “I was told there would only be two of us in the room, then they added another, and now you're here,” she laughed, her deep dimples showing. I just stood there, wondering what I was supposed to do, go back and complain or what. As I was thinking, I looked at my luggage, wondering how I was going to carry all of this down. They burst out laughing,” Welcome to Stanford,” they said, as I stood there blinking. “It's a prank,” another girl said as she reached down and began assisting with carrying my luggage, which she dropped in front of what appeared to be my bed. Thank you, I said, smiling, as I entered the large room. We have two beds and two desks on each side of the room, as well as two wall robes, a bathroom, and toilet, a large kitchen inside the room, and a balcony. Wow, I thought as I walked around the room, Susan called me crying about her dorm room, where they shared a toilet and a bathroom but had no kitchen. I suppose I am extremely lucky to have chosen Stanford. Can we all introduce ourselves now, the last girl said? I turned to look at her properly, and she truly is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, with bright red hair and green eyes that you can't help but stare at. My name is Ella, and I only know your name because I pointed to the girl who opened the door. The girl who opened the door for me introduced herself as Stephanie, and the woman who carried my bag introduced herself as Victoria; both are very attractive, with dirty blonde hair similar to mine and blue eyes. Three of them are very attractive, and I can't wait to get to know them. We decided to go to the cafeteria to get something to eat after we finished unloading our bags and setting up our room. Victoria purchased a meat pie and coffee, while Ella purchased chicken nuggets and Pepsi. Instead of snacks, Stephanie and I decided to go with food. We purchased spaghetti and meatballs. When we returned to our dorm room, we began eating while gusting and getting to know each other better; I already like them. My mum called to tell me she had arrived home, we talked for some time before she hanged up. I told Prince will and Sarah about my new friends and how well I am already fitting in. I'm excited for tomorrow. I'm going to classes first thing in the morning, then my eyes became heavy and then I slept off.
