Chapter 1
"No, I Dominic Campbell, refuse to let you be my Luna," Alpha Dominic said in a firm tone, his eyes staring intently at Crystal, the Luna-to-be who stood helplessly before him. Her heart broke at those words, but she tried to remain calm. "I, Crystal Rosewood, accept your rejection, Alpha Dominic. But remember, if someday the Moon Goddess wants me to be your Luna, then I will be the one to reject you." Crystal said, loudly accepting Alpha Dominic's rejection. Alpha Dominic turned around without hesitation, leaving Crystal alone. His group members followed behind him, their steps in unison as if reflecting their leader's unanimous decision. Crystal, who should have been Luna of the wolf nation, was the daughter of the powerful Alpha Eldric. As the child of a powerful Alpha, she had long been groomed to lead as Luna, but this rejection shattered her hopes. Alpha Eldric, the respected leader of the Moonblood pack, heard the news of his daughter's rejection. His anger flared, not only as a father but also as a leader who felt his family's honor had been trampled. His much-loved daughter Crystal had long been groomed to become Luna, and Alpha Dominic's rejection was a massive blow to their pride and position in the wolf nation hierarchy. "My family's honor has been mocked," Alpha Eldric muttered in a low but menacing voice, his gaze filled with pent-up rage. As the influential pack leader, his sense of leadership could not accept this treatment. Alpha Dominic's rejection of Crystal was not only a personal matter but also a political matter among his group. Alpha Eldric knew his next move would determine many things for his daughter and the entire Moonblood pack. Alpha Eldric, with dangerous calmness, immediately summoned the most robust advisors and warriors of the Moonblood pack. Despite his burning anger, he knew rash revenge could destroy even more. Instead, he planned a cunning and manipulative tactic - a power play that would destroy Alpha Dominic without having to attack directly. "We will wait for the right moment," Alpha Eldric said coldly, his gaze sharp and calculating. "Dominic has not only rejected my daughter, he has also demeaned us. We will not fight with open violence, but with a strategy that leaves them broken from within." "Permission to speak, Alpha." "I am listening to Beta Axe." "Alpha Eldric, what if Mr. Moonblood teamed up with Damien Campbell," said the beta named Axel. Eldric began to devise a clever plan. He knew Dominic's weakness and would exploit it. Sending out spies, sowing doubt among Crimson group members, and even offering false alliances to Dominic's enemies. Each step was done carefully, like a complicated game of chess. "I have decided, our group will work together with Damien, and you Beta Axe. Prepare the next plan. And I want the Crimson Group to be destroyed before the full moon, that way we can take the western territories Alpha Dominic controls and the honor of my people will not be trampled on anymore." The Blood Moon Swarm prepared for battle in the shadows. They would slowly destroy the Crimson Swarmslowly destroy the Crimson Swarm, making Dominic rue the day he rejected Alpha Eldric's daughter. --- Crystal felt like the world had stopped spinning inside her quiet room. Her blank gaze pierced through the morning mist that enveloped the forest outside the window, but her mind was trapped in the memory of such a sharp rejection. Alpha Dominic's words still rang in her mind, shattering any hope she once had. As Alpha Eldric's daughter, she was used to being groomed to lead and be the Luna worthy of an Alpha. However, that day, everything felt like a harsh reality that she could not escape. In front of the Moonblood Pack members, where hopes and dreams should have grown, she felt humiliated, like someone who never had a place in the world that should have been hers. Her hands gripped her robes tightly, holding back the emotions that wanted to explode. It was a feeling that was hard to describe - a pain that came from deep within her, more profound than any physical wound she had ever experienced. She felt like a shadow, nothing more than an object to be chosen or rejected, with no power to change her fate. "What is wrong with me?" she whispered, her voice barely audible, more like a murmur to herself. She cursed herself for her weakness. Even as a future Luna, she couldn't protect herself from the rejection coming from such a respected Alpha. For a moment, her thoughts turned to her father, Alpha Eldric, who must have been wrestling with the same anger. As a leader, her father must have known the magnitude of their challenge. This rejection was not just a personal matter between Dominic and himself but an insult to their honor as the ruling family of the wolf world. The door opened softly, and a soft voice broke her reverie. "Crystal," said the voice, soft but caring. Crystal turned her head and saw her old friend, Elara, standing in the doorway with a worried look. "Elara..." Crystal replied hoarsely. Her best friend's face looked surprised as if she was seeing a different woman than usual. "Are you okay?" asked Elara quietly, though she knew the answer. No one could be okay after being humiliated like that. Crystal sighed, trying to hold back her tears. "I don't know anymore. Everything I had prepared for my life, it all seemed to crumble at once." Elara walked over, sat beside her, and gently took Crystal's hand. "Don't let one rejection get you down. Dominic may reject you today, but nothing can erase what you've accomplished. You are more than enough to be Luna. We all know that." However, Crystal could not feel the strength in those words. Her heart was still mired in a feeling of helplessness. "But what if she's right? What if I don't deserve to be Luna?" Crystal's voice was almost inaudible, filled with doubt. Elara looked at her with a look of conviction. "Rejection is just a test, Crystal. Every high-level werewolf goes through times like this. Remember, even your father had to go through many trials before becoming a respected Alpha." Elara's statement provided hope, though Crystal felt she was far from accepting this reality. She realized that her struggle wasn't over yet. Dominic's decision was a crushing blow, but it wasn't the end. This may be the first round of a bigger fight. However, in her heart, Crystal knew one thing: she wouldn't give up so easily. Alpha Eldric had a plan, and she, as Alpha's daughter, would fight for what was rightfully hers, including the right to be Luna. Crystal began to feel tired of the thoughts that kept raging; unconsciously, those beautiful blue eyeballs began to close, entering into a dream until waking up with a glimmer of morning sunlight that began to enter the window grille. Moments later, Crystal's life returned to normal. She woke up in the morning feeling lighter; the tightness clogging her breathing was slowly disappearing. She returned to her usual activities, hanging out with her pack, playing, and even hunting like Crystal used to do. She did not want to drown in Alpha Dominic's rejection. After hearing Elara's advice, she felt a glimmer of hope. Sometimes, we have to go through hardships to discover who we are, and Crystal will begin to approach Alpha Dominic in her own way.
