Soon the distance between them shorten. With swiftly dodging their skinny claws, Xie Feng breaks their head one by one. In just a few seconds four more bodies pile up before him. This time he didn’t wait for other zombies to reach him and assault them in front. If he has to live then there was no escaping from facing them. So, better take headstart upfront giving them less time to react. Just a moment of carelessness could leave him in a dead corner. He had already experienced a near-death scenario now he cherished his life more than ever. Without any delay, he moves to his side baiting those walking dead. He breakdown one head and moves to the other side keeping the distance between them. Sounds of bone creaking as marble falling on the ground came every time his bat hit his target. Their savage beastly roars filled the area. One by one all of them with crushed skulls surrounded him. Next, he saw those dark threads again moving towards him too soon entering his inside. The feeling of hotness engulfed him again overcoming with a cooling sensation. The dizziness he felt from before disappeared with it. He chooses to not think about those strange black threads coming out of dead corpses. The phenomena that occurred at board daylight still fresh in his mind, comparing to that these events were nothing. Xie Feng turned his head up, the crimson clouds hover like a giant sea. Between them a large mass of black circle emanating dark rays. He could still hear the terrifying shrieks and roars of zombies from distance. Knowing that there were more to come by attracting towards their fellow mates roars, he left the area. Even though the empty plot he was fighting before is not wide but it was long with unwanted weeds growing all over. In the end, a broken steel gate was situated with a large gap which was enough to pass by. Xie Feng stood near the gate and closely hear the sounds. Messy footsteps could be heard as they were closing in. He didn’t want to attract more of those but there were no other escape from here as high walls surrounding its perimeter. As if he made up his mind, without any further delay he exists from its gap and runs a nearby building. There was an underground parking lot built there, the main reason for going there first cause of inbuilt canteen which one of its ways goes through there. He passed the street which was sensed by zombies, soon there were at least 20 of them chasing him. Their foul smell making his urge to vomit again. Xie Feng felt sweat running his back, if he stopped to settle them more will soon come. Roar The zombies at front noticed him beforehand and one by near came straight at him. Creak A crisp shattering sound and that zombie dropped on the ground with his innards gushing out from his head. ‘This will not work.” Xie Feng thought by running faster than them he could survive but he found himself wrong. The one who was chasing him didn’t stop even more and more from joining the group. If this goes on there will be a small horde running after him. He chooses to change direction and move side by side to not come at their vision. After few minutes he still couldn’t get rid of them. Xie Feng starts panicking the main direction he wanted to went was already left behind by two streets. No matter how he runs to further the distance between them or which direction he moves. ‘How they were still chasing?! Don’t they tired?’ He had killed many zombies who were blocking his way. Every time he hit the shot black thread merged with his body. The constant heating-cooling affecting his thinking. He noticed a group of zombies at a small cafe at his side. They couldn’t even see him but still turned their head running straight in his direction. Next, he tried to trick the nearby zombies into the wall. He thought they will avoid it but a bunch of them knocked straight at it. His vision was sharper than before, he could easily see tens of meters ahead clearly to its small details. The more he noticed these things the more he realize their vision was not any good. They hardly see a meter ahead clearly or not at all. “SENSES!” This word came from his mouth. He understands now the real reason they could get him every time because of their senses. Their field of vision is greatly reduced but have their other senses increased by folds. He recalled the scene the first time he deals with a zombie. Luring him near the window and pushed him to the ground. Before that hen was like a hungry beast after his life. He uses white powder to block his vision but the real reason he calms down of cause his senses didn’t found his clue mix with powder and other things in the room. Xie Feng thought he found a way to deal with them. He had to block their other senses so they were not able to catch him. Making a rough plan in his mind he increase his speed after passing one more street hurriedly enters a small shop nearby. The shop walls were white with floral pattern, outside many old flowers and their crushed pots stay. This was his friend shop who was a flower seller. The once beautiful shop completely destroyed by the storm. The shop owner was Xie Feng’s friend. He came to this shop to use its architect to his advantage. If he was correct he could use the back door of the shop to run to another end. There would be a high chance zombies couldn’t catch up to him as the path was narrow and only a few people could be passed through it at a time. Grrr ‘What!’ Xie Feng found h was not alone in the shop. From behind the counter soulless eyes dazing at him. His hair looked like it was burned, the flesh of his leg could be seen clearly to his bone. He was crawling with it. The same greyish skin and blue hue on them. Even though Xie Feng knows his chance of survival was minimal as the shop was located at the front road with many people going on. It still makes it difficult to acceept. The zombie hands coming trying to grab his hand. Xie Feng makes his resolve and lifts his bat. “I am sorry Han,” Xie Feng said clenching his teeth. A drop of tear came from the corner of his eyes. They were studied together in the same high school and know each other for a long time. Killing him with his own hands. His plan failed. There was no much time to reached the back door. Even he could run to his last breath he will not lose track and more will come from the front. He chooses to gamble. The stake was his life. He endured the decaying smell of his friend, with his blood and rotting organs on his clothes he soon becomes no different than a corpse from outside. He locked himself inside the toilet. The disgusting smell on him burned his stomach to puke. He blocked his mouth with his hands waiting silently. Next, he hears many shrieks which were coming near him.
