The place's head of bat collide it leaves a mark on it.
One Hit caused a heavy bump.
The second hit breakdown it into two parts.
The third hit completely shatters the wooden boards into different sizes pieces.
He couldn’t hit with full strength as he didn’t have much right now. Only after tens of seconds his hand sores.
‘I have to find a food source now,’ he twisted his lips turned to return below.
His muscle's flexibility and power it contains in every swing giving him the confidence to even handle a couple of zombies on his own. His one serious hit could break down the opponent's skull making his brain fluids flow.
The reason for this big change he could not understand. One thing he could be sure of this related to the event before he passed out after the explosion. His waking up naked, the disappearance of his injuries marks.
“Ah, forget it, there were more major problems present right now.”
The grip on the metal handle tightened. It was not like he didn’t care or didn’t want to found out the reason. The more he tried to remember, the more he realizes there was nothing to recall.
He shook his head and continue moving downstairs.
It didn’t take long as he reached the second floor. The same place where people were trapped.
‘Maybe they escaped to after places or got someone to help.’
Xie Feng thought about those high-class people. They were desperately begging for help but didn’t even think about giving a and to Old Wang at his worst.
‘There is nothing to get lamenting about past things. They were want to live like and didn’t care about not related to them.’
He frees his mind from those tragic scenes.
The location managers choose was the second floor cause it contains the biggest hall in the whole building. It was selected as a catering venue for its area. The rooms on its side were spacious which can be used as a temporary kitchen for cooks.
He rummaged through the whole hall. The food inside the temporary kitchen had been already staled, much those who were in open. The foul smell of slated food mixed with dead blood of fallen guests lingering everywhere.
“All of them were infected,” he breathed exhaustedly.
“At least, there should be stored water in bottles,” The words emerged from his thirsty throat.
As expected he quickly found the plastic water cups. Treating their seal, he poured till his stomach filled.
Quenching his thirst, he moved towards the window. He could hear the roaring and colliding metals sound from outside. The situation was not outside he guess.
He saw three zombies squatted on a dead man. Their blackened teeth tearing his flesh to swallowed down their bluish throats. Many zombies roaming here and there. He didn't found the source of the metals collision.
Xie Feng returned to the explosion area. The way he wanted to leave this place from as the same as crossing the wall. The back has spacious ground which ends to another street. If nothing major happened he could cautiously pass and find a safe place to saw the surrounding situation.
Thinking all this he peeked at the other side. There were some zombies but not seems like a threat. After confirming there were only a few of them there. He jumped from the wall without making a big sound, still one of them saw his movement.
“Roar!”
“Alright, you would be the first one to take my shot,” His eyes glow in expectation to test his newfound strength.
The roar of zombies already alerted the other four but due to distance, they should take some time to come. He didn't have much strength, his body already on verge of starvation. Few hits on the head all it takes to finished these bastards.
The first one was a male, he can't identify his other details. The bluish skin on his face, a savage expression which only wants to tear who was at the front. He reached near him extending his arms.
Xie Feng move to the side dodging his skinny claw-like hands.
He didn't take it another time to act as a swift swing shattered his jaw from his skull. The other second hit come on top of the head.
Finally, the other three came. Xie Feng moved from his spot. He wanted to keep his distance to take them one by one.
If possible he didn't want their sticky fluids and innards splashing on him.
Same as before he gave a crisp skull-shattering hit on the closest one. Its blue-skinned breaks as blood painted its head.
His muscle soreness increase as he turned to face another. Suddenly, his face froze seeing at front female mutated.
Her soulless eyes looked straight into his. Unknowingly his movement stopped.
Her hand grabbed his waist, he could feel a cold sensation from it. Xie Feng jerked from his stance to see her disgusting face a foot away.
He gave a heavy kick on her thigh making her kneel.
“Die b***h!,” said he directly smash between her temple.
After half a minute passed, he sat on dirt ground grasping heavily. Four dead bodies lay on his sides filled the air with a foul defaced smell.
A few minutes later he was ready to move. When he turned his head, he saw strange lines coming out from zombies.
“What!?,” Xie Feng incredulous stared at them.
Black threads coming straight at him without giving him time to think.
Xie Feng backed off and move his hands to block, his instinctively mental response to hide. But, the tiny threads directly penetrated his hands.
Xie Feng petrified for a moment. He saw those black-looking threads completely entering into him.
“Was it an illusion!?,” he thought while seems to understand it might be due to his increasing hunger, his mind playing hunger games. But, the next seconds he found himself wrong.
The burning sensation moved him from his standpoint.
“So Hot!”
Xie Feng feels his body burning. He quickly took out his clothes which were already damped with sweat turning the original dark blue color darker. The skin of his hands turning red, same with his torso and thighs.
Before he took further action the sensation creeping him disappear. Not the slightest hotness he could feel.
Slowly the cool surged inside him as someone cold bucket of water splashed on his head. It completely calms him down.
He tried to understand his situation. The moment they made contact with himself they disappear, no, they mixed or absorbed with himself. First, he wears the uniform again, he feels that being naked suits him better or not-whatever.
Picking by his called metal bat smeared in the blood of fallen ex-humans. Taking the last look at the silent female head a few meters away. He gripped it as to never make it leave his hand.
“Hmmm…,” he looked at the handle of the bat which marks the imprint of his fingers.
Xie Feng realized he had grabbed with too much strength.
‘Wait…,” before he grabbed with the same force. It didn’t happen at that time. Suddenly an unbelievable thought surfaces his mind. He walked to the wall he jumped from.
To confirm his thinking he raised the bat over his head to hit a full vertical swing at the grey wall in front.
CREAK
A clear breaking sound came as the position bat hit breaks into smaller pieces. Approx. two feet of space circling the area filled with lines like a spider web.
“Damn!” Xie Feng took a deep breath. his previous thoughts look true.
He thought what if killing those blue-skinned and the strange event of black thread entering, hot and cold sensation emerging throughout his body and now this sudden gain of strength. Or I better say the enhancement of his physique. The collision looks no different than one with a heavy hammer.
Also, he realized now that the hunger is from suffering at the verge of being dead gone-not completely he could still sense his body demands food to eat or consume-maybe absorb.
“What’s happening to my physique?” In gaps of wonder he asked. But there was no one to answer his questions. He knows all his answers were related to the incident after he ignited the explosion. The answers he demands already buried in that debris.
He shooked his head not wanting to remember those desperate moments. Whatever happened was happening for his advantage. If he didn’t gain this strength he would be no better than those people who run without turning back on him.
“Roar”
Sudden roars came as he looked at the other side of the ground, blackened emotionless eyes, rotting limbs carrying those zombies coming at him. They were a group of four and more coming behind them.
Xie Feng moved his eyes to the few cm deep hole on the wall. His lips curled up, a gleam in his eyes shown as he takes a wide step jumping to run straight at upcoming groups.
