Aysha’s breath got caught in her throat as Zayne looked at her with a serious look on his face. How could he have smelled her blood since she had her scent masked?
“Why do you smell like blood?” he asked again, this time with a more urgent tone in his voice.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Aysha shrugged casually, but her voice was not sounding convincing.
“You’re really going to play that game with me?” Zayne said with a grunt.
“Look, I’m fine,” Aysha said while gently pushing him away from her so she could walk away. She did not need anyone else to worry about her, and she needed to find Jordan.
He let her push him away, and Aysha started walking away, trying not to limp as her leg screamed at her.
