Aysha could see Zayne’s eyes flashed black for a moment as Xander fought for control, and before Aysha could calm him down, someone entered the tent. He was a middle-aged man with a balding head and was wearing a dirty shirt and pants with a black jacket and froze when he saw his boss with a knife at his throat.
Ranger used the moment of surprise to grasp Zayne’s hand holding the knife and twisted it out of his hand. The knife fell to the floor, and Ranger followed with an elbow in Zayne’s face, making him lose his hold. Zayne stumbled backward, and before he could get his bearings, Ranger punched him hard across the jaw.
“I want them alive!” Ranger barked at the balding man before he punched Zayne again.
