The courthouse parking lot was half-full when Blake pulled into it the next day. He parked, and his eyes glanced in the rearview mirror at Iris in the backseat. The tie he wore suddenly felt like it was choking him. The urge to run was strong, but he resisted it. Iris's life was in his hands.
