Thornlake, Tyzarania World (Fantasy kingdom)
Drizzling had started to take over the dark sky, illuminating over places across the world of Tyzarania.
The villages amidst Thornlake were looking dull and gloomy, as if the villagers had decided on wrapping up in the quilt of silence, hiding ; from the eyes of the outer world.
It was another midnight, when footsteps of horses paddling started to echo through the air of Thornlake. No one knew whose house was going to burn this time but they silently prayed it would not be theirs.
In order to identify the black witches, numerous innocent humans had to give their lives to these merciless monsters who came at night.
Some even wondered if they were doing this on purpose to scare off the humans or not!
Maybe trying to keep them under fear, so they would feel superior?
Or maybe killing was just a sport, a pastime for them?
Unfortunately, no one had the audacity to speak up these doubts in reality, unless they had a death wish.
The Nelson Dynasty had been ruling over Thornlake for decades and finally they were going to have their new king as the old king was growing old and intended to resign from the burdens of ruling.
"AAHHH! Let go of my daughter! She isn't a witch! She is just a child and doesn't even know the meaning of magic.", a desperate cry reverberated through the air, making the environment heavier slowly.
The woman attempted to catch her who was getting pulled away by a bunch of men with no expression visible on their faces. She knew what was going to happen, she had witnessed the slaughter all her life.
So, with all her might she tried to hold back her precious little daughter, but she was thrown back ruthlessly and directly landed on the ground.
She cried miserably, begging until her vision turned blurry and throat dried but not even a single ounce of sympathy flashed in those murderous eyes.
A twelve years old girl walked fearfully in front of the tall man who was looking down at her hatefully as if she was a worm ;needed to be eliminated soon.
Thunderbolt struck upon their faces one more time, revealing his inhuman face that seemed more likely hell. He emphasized each words threateningly while glaring at the little girl,
" Did you hunt a vampire from the Jojoba Forest?"
The little girl stiffened in fear and shook her head side to side denying his accusation.
" LIAR! ", he roared out in rage, his voice leaving nothing but terror in the ear and blurted out threateningly,
" No one has been seen near the forest except you. How dare you lie in front of the Duke? You are courting death! "
The man roared impatiently and was ready to pull out his sharp sword out of its sheath.
Fear clouded in the little girl's eyes as she stumbled back and murmured anxiously,
" I..I really don't know anything about that..I..just.. went to.. find some woods for our cooking.. Please.. believe me.."
She spitted out everything truthfully in a pleading voice yet the deadly glare that was thrown at her did not falter. The man seemed to turn a deaf ear at her words.
Swoosh!
In the following moment, a ding sound of sword unlocking echoed in the rainy weather. Without any more words and hesitation, the man sliced her head off ruthlessly.
Her mother shouted hysterically upon seeing her daughter's beheaded body and was knocked out the moment because of massive trauma.
The man who just intended to burst into another direction domineeringly, was paused in his spot when a thunderous voice resonated, which came from behind.
" Claud ! ", an enraging tongue spread out from their back causing the mad with a sword in his hand man hiss in annoyance.
Gritting his teeth and fangs together, he turned around reluctantly and saw him climbing down from his horse.
Instantly, the guards around them bowed longingly and showed their utmost respect towards the man who was approaching Claud beastly. His presence was domineering, strong enough to make everyone bow their heads down subconsciously.
His coat was dripping water drops gingerly as he looked around the chaos engagingly. His blood red eyes darkened more in anger when he saw the beheaded body of a little girl and he clenched his jaw in anger.
Cyrus's face sank in remorse and he no longer paid extra attention to his behaviors. He rushed and instantly pulled Claud's collar and shouted on his face in rage,
" I told you not to kill the girl. She isn't a witch. Witches develop their powers of killing only after passing eighteen. How can a girl of 12 kill a cold blooded Vampire? Damn it! How dare you deny my order? "
Despite being scolded by his elder brother, Claud had no signs of remorse on his face. He shoved off their bodies in a jolt and shrugged off saying,
" No matter who killed her, she was a witness. And, a low class human like her doesn't deserve to live so long anyways."
Cyrus exploded in anger and charged forward to give him a hard punch as well as a piece of his mind. But before his balled fist could touch Cyrus's soaked cheeks, his assistant interrupted hurriedly,
" Crown Prince! There are many people present here. Please control !"
Cyrus's fist paused midway abruptly. His eyes shifted on his assistant coldly before losing it off but he clenched his jaw harder.
Claud smirked at his change of attitude and sneered,
" You are in no position to stop me from doing whatever I want. You are still a crown prince, not a king."
He made sure to pronounce the last part with a smirk on his face.
Cyrus almost charged to beat him hard again but restrained himself thinking that he had other essential works to handle right then, than dealing with this a**hole of his brother.
Turning his attention back on the dead body, he ordered gloomily to one of his assistants,
" Prepare a grave for this little girl. Make sure that every ritual has been performed followed by proper burial."
Claud rolled his eyes back in annoyance. He couldn't understand why it was important to pay respect to such a low classed human. But because he had a hunch on the level of Cyrus's anger, he didn't dare to spit his thoughts out at that time and stood sideways obediently.
Cyrus started to ponder in an attempt to sooth the situation in a most fair way. His red hooded eyes stuck on the fragile body of that woman who had fainted, his mind rummaging through deep thoughts. He was too indulged in his thoughts ; thus, failed to notice another entry from the opposite direction.
Another thunderstroke broke through the sky, scaring off the humans who tried their best to cloak their existence to invisibility inside their houses.
The girl with a flimsy umbrella halted in her tracks abruptly when his eyes took a glimpse of the men surrounding her hut.
The basket in her hand slipped off rolling over the ground with a light thud. At the same time, her umbrella flew away amidst the windy breeze abruptly, because of her absent minded clumsiness.
Her pace froze, unable to lift one step more as she gasped in fear. Her jade green eyes darted back and forth in a hope to find any helper but there was no one around.
Just when she dwelled in this thought whether to approach or not, her green eyes fell upon the beheaded figure which was drenching under the wet weather carelessly.
Her mouth agape in terror and shock followed by a ethereal scream,
" LEAH! "
The girl shouted not caring about the fact that she was going to be deadpanned by this Group of ruthless Vampires.
Her pace picked up its speed. Smashing the turnips underneath her feet, she scurried away over the dead body desperately shocking the Vampires around.
She threw herself onto the dead body and cried desperately,
" LEAH! No! No! Leah, wake up! LEAH! LEAH! My dear sister! No..it..it can't be... Leah! Please...Leah..."
The girl's shrill cry echoed in the heavy air sending shivers of fear to the hidden humans across the surrounding area. Because of her long messy hair, her face couldn't be seen by Cyrus who was frowning, trying to figure out a way to apologise sincerely.
After a long time of battling with his hesitations, Cyrus finally spoke to her in a low, soft voice,
" Miss, we are..!"
His words were paused midway when the girl finally lifted up her crying face.
For a moment, Cyrus forgot to breathe. He couldn't help taking a sharp intake while enjoying her angelic appearance and forgot the words of apology that he had found after a good amount of thought.
Her jade green eyes burned in rage as she inspected Cyrus hatefully. Her translucent skin was white like snow which glistened under the thunderstrokes more brightly.
Her beauty was breathtaking,it was as if she was a fairy ; illuminating the heavenly breeze in the world. Her long blonde hairs cascaded down clumsily in the form of locks which were soaking under the rain drastically.
She was beautiful...too beautiful to take his eyes off of her...so beautiful that for a moment Cyrus found himself utterly lost.
The little girl trembled in anger and one could tell that she was barely suppressing her fury while she glared at Cyrus.
Indeed she was! Lisa Quimby was trying her best to control her emotions as she still had her mother to keep secured. She didn't know what Leah had done to deserve death but she wasn't going to forgive this Vampires even if she died.
She hated these murderers with every drop of blood running through her veins.
Lisa sucked in a deep breath, blinking her tears away as she stumbled up from the ground and roared at Cyrus pointing her finger,
" CYRUS NELSON, is that how you bring just on your subject? You are soon to be our king but you kill normal humans like us unreasonably. Tell me, do you still deserve to be our king or not? Tell me, why did my little sister have to deserve such merciless death? What on earth had she done to offend you? "
Lisa shouted from the top of her lungs and burst into tears miserably. She sobbed vigorously but continued staring at Cyrus who was in daze against her words. No one had ever dared to question his justice like her, none dared to look into his eyes so fearlessly before.
Just as he pursued his lips to speak something, Claud shouted from his side engagingly,
" b***h, how dare you talk with us like that? You sure deserve to be taught a lesson by me."
He exploded and rushed over in an inhuman speed to grab Lisa but his running figure was held back by a pair of long slender arms.
Claude glanced up at him confusingly and watched the man's alarming eyes which were silently warning him.
Reluctant to let go, he jerked before pacing back angrily. Cyrus sighed heavily and returned his attention back to the fuming girl who stood fearlessly, while her body trembled with each sob that she tried her best to suppress.
Without joining in any argument, he gave her a long bow and spoke sincerely,
" I apologise for this hurtful situation, Miss. It was just a misunderstanding. But I do want to take responsibility for your losses."
Lisa's lips twitched in anger as she blurted out chivalrously,
" Responsibility? What kind of responsibilities are you speaking, crown prince? Can you give life back to my sister?"
Cyrus admitted without hesitation,
" Unfortunately, no but I suspect that you are still in need of many things to live well."
Lisa narrowed her eyes dangerously and asked back coldly,
" So? You are going to exchange my sister's life with your goodies? Is that what life of ours is worth to you?"
Cyrus was patient with his words which shocked the hell out of everyone.
Taking a glimpse of that elderly woman lying unconscious on the ground, he revealed his intentions indifferently,
" You are getting me wrong here, Miss."
He made sure to keep his eye contact still with Lisa as he spoke,"The answer to your first question would be, "Halfly".I will make sure that your mother lives well in her entire life span. As you went outside in this weather to pick up turnips, I am suspecting that your father is no more or abandoned you all. Thus I have no hands on that. Regarding you..."
Cyrus postponed deliberately taking a closer look at the girl who was drenching heavenly. The further she got soaked, the more her beauty inflated, attracting his craving eyes.
He continued keeping his eyes glued on her as he spoke with authority,
" You...you are going to be my pet for eternity. I will suck off your blood occasionally. In exchange, you will live like a queen in my castle with good food and accommodations."
Lisa's jaw dropped at his demand.
She felt her head going blank in anger.First he murdered her sister mercilessly and harmed her family, now he wanted her to be his what? Pet?
She shouted clenching her fists together,
" I don't agree with the last one! I don't want to be your..."
Cyrus interrupted lifting his hand in air with a whisk and took a close step towards her which didn't make her blaming eyes falter nor did her body dodged backwards.
Brave!
Cyrus complimented inside and announced ironically,
" I don't like to repeat my words, little rabbit. It's decided! You are going to be my pet for life.
He made sure to whisper the nickname he had picked for Lisa, so only she could hear it.
Lisa shivered lightly at the combination of his icy voice and cold windy breeze.
She tried to pick up another roaring voice to demolish his mighty presence but it was pushed away again by his cold murderous eyes.
Before her words could leave her throat, Cyrus pressed on his words tightly this time,
" No more words! Case closed! Follow me around if you still want to see your mother alive."
Behind them, the guards including Claud all were left stunned when they vaguely sensed the ambiguous tone of their crown prince.
What was going on? Did he finally find a suitable girl for him? But a human?
