25 EZRA I didn’t think—just acted on my desires. The sight of Aaron through the peephole had taught my heart how to thrum again, and I’d pulled open the door without hesitation, no thought for sin or eternity. And he’d come at me, a man starved. For me. For affection. For life. Our needs aligned, and I almost wept with gratitude for his strength to seek me out when I hadn’t been able to do the same.
