Chapter 1 Lone Wolf
Alex had always been different from the other werewolves in his pack. He was a hybrid, born from a union between a Werewolf and a Witch. This meant that he possessed both the strength and agility of a werewolf and the extraordinary magical abilities of a Witch . But it also meant that he was an outsider, never fully accepted by the purebred werewolves in his pack. To make matters worse, Alex was blind. He had been born without sight, relying instead on his other senses to navigate the world around him. As a child, he struggled to keep up with the other young werewolves, always feeling like he was a step behind. But Alex was determined to prove himself. He spent hours every day honing his senses, listening to the slightest rustle in the bushes, feeling the vibrations of the ground beneath him, and smelling the scents of the forest. Over time, Alex's reputation grew around his pack members . He became known as the Blind Hybrid Alpha, a powerful leader who could hold his own against any purebred werewolf. But despite his success, Alex had to hide his magical abilities from the world, fearing how other people would react.
There was one thing Alex always longed for. He always felt like something was missing. He longed for a mate, someone who could understand him and accept him for who he was. But years passed, and Alex remained a solitary figure. He watched as his packmates found their mates and started families, but he never found his mate. He even tried looking for a chosen mate but he never found anyone who could see past his blindness and appreciate him for the strong, capable leader he was , of course, except Freya. Freya brags about how great Alex was to everyone who's willing to listen to her. Freya is Alex's only friend they met when they were growing up. Her Father was Alex's Father's Beta. They grew up together. They even attended the same boarding school together overseas. They just came to take over and she's Alex's beta. Even though everyone questioned Alex's decision to take a she-wolf as he's beta, he knew that she was capable of doing a great job. She was a great fighter, good friend and great business woman. Freya is also without a mate. She always thought she would be mated to Alex, but when that didn't happen she was devastated and she also thought and hoped that Alex would choose her as a chosen mate.
Alex
I've received a letter from the council that states that I have 2 months left to find my mate. If not, I should take a chosen mate, which I can look for myself, or let the council choose one for me and if I fail to do this within the 2 months given, I have to step down as Alpha and let my cousin take the Alpha title. Kieran ( my cousin), let's say he is not happy with that decision at all. He's been storming my office uninvited, telling me to hurry up and take a chosen mate. My father, on the other hand, is telling me to invite the council over for a meeting to ask for an extension and explain my situation. The council doesn't know that I'm blind but they're aware that I'm a hybrid. My father managed to hide that from them.
So I'm sitting in my office trying to write the letter with Freya and she doesn't understand why I'm writing the letter. I can just take her as my chosen mate to make the council stop bothering me. This idea would have sounded better if she suggested it a little earlier in our lives. I always thought I loved Freya, at some point thinking being mated to her would be the greatest gift ever, but my reasons for thinking like that were always selfish. It was never because I loved her so much. I'm comfortable around her, and I don't have to hide my powers from her. Don't get me wrong, I do love her, but not enough to make her my chosen mate. She deserves better. She might not understand that now, but I can feel she will thank me for that one day.
We sent the letter this morning and we were so surprised to receive the call from the Lycan King beta informing me that they're on the way to my pack and they'll arrive soon. Freya is busy running around preparing for the King's arrival. I am so anxious I don't know what to expect. I have heard so many things about him. Some are good, like really good. They even sound too good to be true, some so evil and vile, and I've never met him. I might be able to fool other werewolves about sight and use my magic abilities to appear not blind to them, but he's a Lycan, not just any Lycan. He's a King. He can smell magic from a mile away.
The weather has changed so suddenly, I don't know if it's a good sign or a bad one. I need to get out of this office. I mind linking my dad to tell Freya that I'll be outside in the garden to meet me there when she's done. I mind linking my father because, so far, he's the only person I can link, without giving him a severe headache. My mind link is strong. It can kill a weak werewolf. I remember mind linking Freya back in school. She almost died from that day on I've never mind linked anyone to. It's something that I'm still working on I think instead of using just my mind link I also use my magic. I arrive in the garden walking around, touching every plant. It feels great. I don't know how to explain the feeling but every time I do this it feels like I'm talking to them and they talking to me its a great experience. As I walk some of the young werewolves come running to me they always ask me to show them something cool. I always use my magic to make simple tricks for them and they always enjoys that and it makes me happy every time.
