Chapter Fourteen Rafferty had eventually succeeded in getting all his Babbington ducks in a row for the Crown Prosecution Service. He picked up the phone and spoke to Mike Stevens, the Area Crown Prosecutor, and arranged to go to see him that afternoon. He worked industriously for the next few hours. Then it was time to head over to the CPS. Stevens was as different as possible to his predecessor. He was a man, for a start, and he wasn’t continually correcting Rafferty on ever-changing points of law, which was a definite plus.
