HIDDEN DEVIL & DEMON

Aadhira's POV: I nodded in response. Varun entered the room shortly thereafter, having dealt with the aftermath of the incident. I stood up and hugged him. He congratulated me, then fixed me with a pleading gaze. I shook my head, understanding his unspoken request. 'Tonight,' he uttered before leaving, not without first glaring at me. Miya observed the exchange between us with confusion, unsure of what was transpiring. I merely smiled at her and refrained from offering an explanation. She, too, chose not to inquire, recognizing that there were many secrets between my brother and me. This time, however, it was different. The secret we hid from her for her. This is anything that she shouldn't know about. She is the one who has complete right to know about this secret and we are going to reveal it to her today. We proceeded to the cafeteria, as it was already 12:45 p.m. and we were both famished. Fortunately, we found a table and commenced eating while engaging in our usual banter. She introduced me to her friends, although some of the girls expressed envy, knowing I would be working closely with the devil—sorry, the handsome devil. Lucas's POV: I entered the dimly lit five-story building where the feast awaited me. A man stood in the shadows, patiently anticipating my arrival. He was none other than my demon's delicacy. The devil within me was now enraged. I approached and stood before him, removing the black cloth covering his face. It took him a few moments to adjust to the light. He smiled upon recognizing me, but his expression quickly faded as his eyes took in his surroundings. He looked at me with confusion. A man entered carrying a small and a large box. I nodded to him and took the larger box from his hands. I opened it, and when my feast saw its contents, his face drained of color, his features twisted in fear. 'Sir, what... what... are you going to... do?' my feast inquired, his voice trembling. I reached into the box and extracted its contents. I met the gaze of the man holding the small box. He nodded and opened it, revealing its own sinister contents. My feast eyed it with bewildered trepidation. Why won't he? Those things inside the box won't cause him anything but pain. 'What is your name?' I asked, having forgotten. 'Pra... Pradeep,' he responded in a barely audible whisper. 'Mr. Pradeep, how did you acquire that wound on your right palm?' I asked, my gaze fixed on the injury. I knew the answer, but I wanted to hear it from him. Yes, he was the same General Manager who had violated my demon. He had witnessed the true demon, but he had yet to encounter the true devil. I had ordered my men to abduct him, and they had executed flawlessly. He looked at me, desperately searching for a lie to tell. 'Sir, I accidentally cut my hand while playing with a pen with my young cousin,' he claimed. I glanced at the man, who sought my permission. His lie had sealed his fate. The man near me injected the anesthesia into Pradeep's right hand. Without wasting a second, I chopped that handoff with the woodcutter. Yes, the thing in the large box was the woodcutter, and the thing in the small box was an injection containing anesthesia. My white shirt turned red, and the General Manager cried out loud when he saw his hand on the floor. The other two men came in and took the hand and the General Manager out of the room. They will take them some distance and throw them on the road. I got inside my car, changed my shirt and pants, and sanitized my hands. Now I'm ready to go to my Demon. Lucas POV: I entered my office through a secret entrance because I didn't want my demon to see me. I went straight to my cabin, thinking she would be waiting for me. I wanted to surprise her, but she wasn't in my cabin or even on my floor. I looked around to find her or Varun, but neither of them was anywhere to be seen. Panic started to set in, and I immediately went to the ground floor, thinking she might be talking with the receptionist. But she wasn't in the lounge or talking to the receptionist. The whole office descended into chaos seeing me on the ground floor at this time, as I usually avoid coming in front of my workers. I went to the Human Resources department, thinking she might be submitting her documents, but she wasn't there either. I saw Varun searching for me, as I had gone out without telling him. When he saw me, he relaxed but also looked confused seeing me in a different outfit. I got an idea and started to act. "Varun, where is the girl who was selected as my assistant? She hasn't come to me to ask about her work," I asked, trying to sound normal. He gulped, probably thinking I was angry with her, but I was just desperate to see her. "Sir, I'll call her and ask her. Please wait for a second," he said and took out his mobile to call her. "Fast. I don't have enough time," I told him. Please hurry. I want to see her now. He called her, but it seemed she didn't answer. My fear was increasing every second. "Sir, she's not answering the call. I'll call her friend," he said and dialed another number, which confused me. Why was he calling her friend to ask about her? "Sir, she's also not answering. I'll go and check," he said and left. I started to follow him. He got inside the employee's elevator, and I joined him, causing a shock to everyone. But my mind was blocked with thoughts of my demon. I know for the fact that soon she would find out that I'm her boss and I'm the one who her brother mentioning as Devil all the while. I'm afraid thinking about her reaction. Would she leave me knowing my identity just like everyone else.
