WRONG LIE

Lucas's POV:

Varun looked at me with wide eyes, but seeing my tense expression, no one dared to say anything. Varun pressed the button for the 37th floor, and I wondered why he was searching for her there. When the elevator stopped on the 37th floor, he walked towards the advertisement department. I followed him, causing more chaos in the office.

What I saw next made my blood boil. She was talking and laughing with a girl and the same boy from the HR department who had accompanied her to the interview. Didn't he have any work in his department?

Seeing me glaring at them, Varun tried to approach them, as those three hadn't noticed us. But I stopped him.

"Stop. Call the head of the HR department and give the phone to me," I said, confusing him.

I knew I had to do this. He looked at me for a moment but did as I said. He called the HR department and handed the phone to me when the head answered.

"I don't think you guys are doing enough work, so prepare a list of every person working in our sub-company POWER-D and give me every detail within an hour," I said and hung up, then handed the phone back to Varun.

He looked at me with wide eyes because the HR department is always busy. He took his phone back, and the next moment that boy received a call. I knew it was from the HR department because of me.

He answered his call and left in a hurry. Thankfully, he didn't notice me there. But before leaving, he hugged her. I smirked and gritted my teeth. Seeing my smirk, Varun gave me a suspicious look. I looked away, trying to avoid his gaze.

I walked towards my demon and the other girl, who I guessed was her friend. So, her friend also works in my company. When I got near them, the girl was the first to notice me. She immediately stood up in fear, and seeing her, my demon turned and looked at me. She immediately stood up and hugged me.

My heart stopped for a second. Not only mine but both Varun's and the girl's too. Thankfully no one else was around at that time.

**Aadhira POV:**

Raj left in a hurry without telling us anything. After that, Miya stood up immediately, and I looked behind me to see what happened. I saw Munchkin standing there. I immediately hugged him, and I seriously don't know why I did that.

He froze in his place, and I realized what I had done. I released the hug and noticed Varun and Miya looking at me like I had hugged the devil.

"Hey Munchkin, I thought of searching for you, but here you are. And you know what, Munchkin? I got the job. I won my challenge against Varun..." I started to blabber, but seeing the three different expressions, I stopped.

"What happened? Why are you all looking at me differently?" I asked, but no one spoke.

"Varun and Miya, I forgot to tell you about him. I met him at the bus stop yesterday when I was waiting for the bus. He was also waiting for the bus, and he told me he works here too. Did you guys know him before?" I lied to them because I couldn't reveal the truth.

But Munchkin gulped and gave me a pitying look, and both Varun and Miya glared at me. What happened? Didn't they believe my lie? Impossible, they've never caught me lying before. What happened this time?

"I think we can talk about this in my cabin," Munchkin said and left.

Why did he leave without telling me anything? Both Varun and Miya looked at me with expressions I couldn't understand. Miya signaled me to follow her, and both Varun and Miya started walking. I followed them, confused. What is happening here?

Lucas POV:

My legs were almost shaking in fear, not knowing what my demon would do. Would she leave me? How could I tell her the truth?

I heard the ding of the elevator, which increased my fear. I had taken the special elevator, so it took a few minutes for them to arrive. My cabin door opened, revealing Varun, my demon, and her friend.

Aadhira POV:

Both Varun and Miya took me to the 49th floor. I wondered if Munchkin worked there. Varun opened a room door, and I saw Munchkin standing inside. I immediately went inside and looked around the room. The walls were painted in black and grey, and a huge glass table was placed in the center.

What caught my eye was the scenery outside the building. As the building was covered in glass, I could see the outside weather. It was beautiful and looked like it would rain soon. I went near the glass and touched it, feeling the cold from the weather outside.

"Munchkin, you have a cool cabin. Munchkin, what if we ask the devil to let us work in the same cabin? Will he give permission? I love this cabin, Munchkin," I said, coming near the glass table.

"Thank... you. If you want, you can work here," he said in a low voice.

I sat on the chair and looked at him with a questioning expression.

"I want to ask the devil. Are you his ex-assistant? How are you permitting me without asking the devil? But Varun said the devil's ex-assistant was a girl and he fired her because she was trying to hook up with him. Munchkin, what do you think about my dress? Yesterday you told me to be myself, but Miya scolded me for wearing this dress. And you should tell Varun that I'm the best..." I blabbered, but I stopped when I saw Varun and Miya's wide eyes.

Munchkin was just looking down at the floor. He wasn't even looking at me. What happened to everyone? Then I remembered that I still hadn't seen the devil. Now that I was his assistant, I needed to see him as soon as possible. Otherwise, he would chew me out.
