The alpha’s chosen mate

Nora's POV Turning off the alarm I had set to wake me up at 4:30 in the morning,laid my bed, did the chores, and prepared breakfast. Sarah was still fast asleep, didn't wake her up she needed to take her time, went into my room took my bath,dressed up, let my hair down in a ponytail style, didn't apply make-up I'm naturally beautiful so I don't spend much time on stuffs like this and also because I don't want problems with Esther, I looked at the mirror to see if I'm well dressed and good to go. I left the house, boarded the bus,my workplace was some miles away from where I stay. My name is Nora and I work for the Alpha and his family their maid precisely, since that was the only position they think I'm worthy of holding well I couldn't blame them since I was abandoned by my parents in front of the pack house, I was 3 years old when Sarah found, me the only thing my so called parents had left me with was a pendant. Which Sarah insists that I should wear always, she believes it will help me find my parents soon,the alpha never wanted me on his pack I was a threat a ticking time bomb,but Sarah insisted on taking responsibility for me,she didn't want to leave a 3 years old on her own.They all thought I was human at first and was prepared to throw me out of the pack or kill me to avoid exposing the secret of werewolves but the senses,the speed,the color of my Iris,how the hairs on my body stands when there is danger, were all signs that I'm a werewolf although I don't have a wolf yet can't wait to connect with her. I'll be 21 in a few months which means I will meet her soon and I'll have a mate. Getting down from the bus station, I hurried to Alpha's place. "Good morning Nora" "Good morning Matthew" "How is Sarah doing?" "She is feeling better,I still need to take her to the package hospital,I hope we get paid on time". Matthew is the Alpha's gardener and the only friend I have here,he didn't care about my identity he had noticed my weary state for some days now,I told him about Sarah, Sarah is like a mother to me or should I say she is my mother she had been coughing profusely for some days. I got a call from Jude yesterday, her assistant, that she fainted so I took permission from Esther, the head maid and went home to take care of her. "She will be fine, Sarah is stronger than you think" "I know, I'm just worried, she is the only one I have" "You also have me too Nora" Matthew exclaimed. "I didn't know elderly men get jealous" "Yeah you got me" he laughed. It was a good way of brushing off the negative energy I carried when entering the Alpha's home.I had a list of things I had to do before the end of today,one of them was helping Mia shop for her birthday party. "Nora, it's good you are here" "Good morning Esther" "I need you to wake Mia up" "Okay Esther" Waking Mia up might sound like an easy thing to do but it wasn't,she throws a tantrum, sometimes hits a maid. She is a rude,arrogant,spoiled brat, the only daughter of Alpha Daniel. I entered her room, she was fast asleep, her room was in a mess, went closer to her then the smell of alcohol struck me,I used my fingers to close my nose. "She came home drunk last night" I gasped I didn't hear the door opened,it was Bryan who came in, the Alpha's son, soon to be Alpha of Crescent Park.He had been going through training and wasn't always around, he must have returned from the training ground yesterday.I don't know much about him so I couldn't tell if he was like the others. "Oh I didn't know" I feigned ignorance. "I'll wake her up" Bryan offered Bryan took a bottle of water, pulled Mia's duvet with force and poured the water on her.I was shocked. I didn't expect that type of morning call,well that's what she deserves.She screamed, stood up, eyes burned with fury ready to pounce on the perpetrator. "Bryan, you could have just tapped me, why the water?" She said as she noticed that it was Bryan who poured water on her,I giggled silently. It was fun to watch. "Dad wants to talk to us" Bryan answered her "And what's this loser doing here?" Mia said as she clenched her fist. She was referring to me, well if not for the fact that she is the Alpha's daughter,I would have had all her hair pulled out. She is the loser and not me,her boyfriend must have broken up with her,I have lost count of the boyfriends she has.She couldn't keep just one no virtue whatsoever, whoever her mate is I pity him. "Excuse us please" Mia shouted "I will take my leave now" I said as I excused myself.I wonder what's going on this morning for the Alpha to have summoned his children. In the evening I went with Mia to shop for her outfits and some other stuff,her group of friends were there. I wasn't allowed to follow them inside the mall so I waited for them in the car.I was really worried about Sarah. I wished the day could end quickly. "You know you are pretty hot for a lady" "What's that supposed to mean?" "I mean you haven't found your mate yet so" "So what?" I was immersed in my thoughts when Carter said those disgusting words, Carter is Mia's personal driver,and has been making ridiculous emphasis lately, "So we can hang out,satisfy each other you know what I mean" "Have you found your mate Carter?" "No,I haven't" "Good,I pray you don't have one" "What do you mean b-yy?" Mia and her friends were done shopping,so Carter couldn't continue with his nonsense. "Oh goodness I forgot my purse,Nora go get it for me"? "Okay Mia" "Be fast about it" Getting down from the car I went straight into the mall,where Mia and her friends had done the shopping. She can be so careless sometimes."Excuse me ma'am" "How can I help you?" The saleswoman answered "Ma the Alpha's daughter and her friends came shopping a while ago,she forgot her purse and asked me to get it for her" The saleswoman was suspicious at first because she thought I had an ulterior motive."I'm her personal maid," I said to her. "Okay wait here I'll check" "Thank you ma" After waiting for about 30 minutes the woman was still searching for it,now I wonder if Mia had really forgotten her purse, "Um we've checked and it is not here,are you sure Alpha's daughter left it here?" "Yes ma,she said it herself I'll confirm from her" I left the mall and went outside and to my surprise,Mia had left already. She tricked me. I wondered how she could stoop so low. I wasn't with my phone or money. I was pissed it was getting late already and I hadn't finished my chores,and if I didn't finish I wouldn't be able to go home and take care of Sarah,to make matters worse an heavy rainfall started. The rain was pouring heavily,so I used my hands to cover my hair. I wanted to go back into the mall,when a car packed in front of me was a Black Rolls Royce. I couldn't see who was in the car properly due to the rain, and because the window of the car was tinted,the person came down with an umbrella and to my surprise it was Bryan, what was he doing here?. He used the umbrella to shield me from the rain, opened the door of the car for me,and asked me to seat beside the driver's seat he must have driven here by himself, I'm grateful he helped me I didn't know what I would have done,he didn't say anything throughout the drive making it awkward,so I decided to say something. "Thank you" "What were you doing out there?" His voice sounded somewhat angry,I didn't know if I explained to him if he would believe me,I looked at him he was focused on driving,I hadn't seen him up close before, studying his facial features I could see that he is handsome,he has a chiseled jawline,and his voice were gravel like and his lips w-e-r-e. "Does Nora care to explain?" I snapped out of my thoughts as soon as I heard his voice. "I went shopping with Mia,her friends were at the mall so she asked me to wait in the car,after she did her shopping she asked me to get her purse that she forgot and I went" I explained everything that happened to him,he kept silent,he didn't say anything throughout the drive,I guess he didn't believe me,so I kept quiet and waited till we get to the house.The rain had stopped by the time we reached the house,he didn't open the door for me,so I helped myself,we didn't enter together he entered before me and went straight to his room,I wonder if what I said had angered him,but I didn't see anything wrong with what I said,It was the truth I guess they are all the same after all.
