Bullying and Prejudice
Under the dim light, in a foul-smelling alley, a bullying incident is taking place.
Luna's face appeared pale as snow under the moonlight. Beneath her slender and long willow eyebrows, her long and curled eyelashes blinked gently. Her dark red eyes seemed eerie and enchanting in the black night. Tears rolled down her thin chin, falling to the ground with a soft sound.
On her pale face, there were several particularly serious wounds, and the corners of her mouth were also torn and the wounds had scabbed.
A stone was thrown in front of Luna, and the boy's shoes stepped on it. His voice carried a hint of fear and mockery, 'Luna, as a monster like you, should be crushed underfoot just like this stone! You don't deserve to live in this world at all, you monster!'
Luna remained silent, her small head hanging low, her dark red eyes fixed on the shoe without any movement.
The boy sneered and was about to leave, but he suddenly saw Luna lift her head. Her pair of dark red eyes turned even bloodier as she stared at him, as if looking at food. The boy became extremely frightened.
The boy took a step back in fear, "Phew," he exclaimed. His steps became larger and larger, "Little monster, I'll come back to deal with you next time!"
Luna lowered her head and used her hand to support herself as she stood up. Her leg had just been kicked hard by a boy, causing a lot of pain and making it difficult for her to exert any strength.
She walked slowly until she reached the end of the alley. There were few people on the street, mostly just passing vehicles, and no one noticed her at the entrance of the alley.
Occasionally, a few people would come and upon seeing Luna's eyes, they would also be frightened by her. People turned around and whispered to each other, 'Why does she wear red contact lenses at night? It's too scary!'
"The expression on her face was so terrifying, it's really scary. She seems like a lunatic."
Luna has become accustomed to people's gossip. Everyone on the street, even those around her, have black eyes, except for her. She is different because her eyes change color.
Whenever she feels very sad or extremely happy, her eyes change color, turning into vampire-like eyes, blood red, dark red, different shades of red, but not black.
Because of her eyes that change color, everyone dislikes her and treats her as a vampire-like creature. They throw crosses, metal objects, black dog blood, and chicken blood at her. Even her own parents are no exception.
Under the heavy darkness of night, Luna slowly walked with a limp, dragging her feet, as she made her way through one alley after another. When she felt too tired, she would stop and rest for a while before continuing on.
Gujiji—
A slightly sharp sound made Luna feel a little scared. In the dark night, a flying creature swiftly passed in front of Luna with a 'swish', and the wind from its flapping wings blew her hair across her forehead, covering her eyes.
She waved her hands a bit anxiously, but that annoying little thing flew fast and dodged quickly, always flying in front of her, making it impossible for her to move forward.
Luna's hand touched something soft, and the flying creature was slapped aside by her palm, falling under the dim streetlight. The small thing weakly flapped its fleshy wings, with its pearl-like eyes shining darkly, seemingly filled with a hint of grievance.
Luna looked at it, her expression somewhat hesitant. It turned out to be a small bat. She didn't pay too much attention and continued forward, feeling a bit sad inside. Because people around her always said that bats were transformed vampires. Bats would transform into vampires and engage in cruel killings when the moon was high in the sky.
Luna didn't believe these rumors, but the people around her strongly believed them. When Luna returned home, all the lights in the house were turned off.
A few chicken cries came from the chicken coop, sounding a bit harsh in the quiet darkness of the night. The house in front was dilapidated and long neglected, appearing dirty. In the small yard, there were many things placed, all of them being junk that would be sold tomorrow for money.
Luna's parents were not wealthy, and since she was young, she had been living a life where there would be meals one day and none the next. After gently pushing open the door, Luna tiptoed into the house and quietly made her way back to her small room.
Her room's window faces the chicken coop. The sounds of several chickens calling out to each other rise and fall, sounding almost frantic before quickly quieting down again. The dark red eyes peer through the glass window, giving a strangely eerie feeling as they gaze at the night outside.
The next morning, Luna was awakened by someone splashing water on her. Her mother grabbed her ear fiercely and forcefully pulled her up from the bed. With a face full of fat, she cursed loudly, "You monster! Why did you hurt the chickens in our house?"
Luna couldn't bear the pain and could only plead for mercy. She grabbed her mother's hand and asked, "Mom, what happened?"
Luna's mother angrily dragged her into the yard. As soon as they entered the yard, Luna smelled a strong smell of blood, which made her very scared.
Luna's father was standing in the yard, his hands covered in blood. When he saw Luna come out, he slapped her directly.
Luna had already prepared herself, slightly tilting her face to the side. The slap landed on her cheekbone, causing a burning pain. A red mark immediately appeared on her fair and tender face, which started to swell a bit. She pressed her lips together, forcing herself not to cry, and said with a sense of grievance, "It wasn't me."
"Wasn't it you who did this?" Luna's father picked up a broom by his side. "Besides you, the vampire, who would suck all the blood from our chickens?!"
The broom swung mercilessly, not showing any mercy. Luna's injuries from last night hadn't healed yet, and she had already suffered new wounds today. Her body ached from the beating, but Luna didn't take a step back. She stood strong in her place, enduring the blows.
In the minds of biased individuals, no matter what one does or says, it is always wrong. Even if these two people are her biological parents, only their opinions are considered right. And she is just seen as the vampire.
