Glory

In January one of two thousand three, the world has gone through a sudden change, a mysterious tower abruptly emerged from the face of the earth, it rose on the middle of the world and portals appeared from every country connecting to the first floor of the tower. Not long after it appeared, humans started to discover that they had a chance to unlock special abilities depending on their talents, skills, and luck. They also started to call a person who can challenge the tower "Players" or "Climbers", these people were faced with the task of climbing and conquering the tower to decide who will have the glory to rule the tower and become the king of the whole world... Deus was only the person born on the day that the tower emerged, and while some people find it odd, assumptions and interest were already circulating, but some also thought that this was only a coincidence, until it was forgotten. He was raised in a family full of awakened climbers and some of them are even high rankers. He grew up with a powerful and influential family, people said that he was born with a silver spoon. But life is full of wonders, as he reached the age of sixteen, people around him began to have expectations to be a powerful awakened too following his parent's and family's footsteps, and unfortunately, he has yet to receive an announcement from the tower stating that he has awakened. The tower chooses its player based on talent, skills, and luck. With a lot of people in the world, being chosen as a player of the tower is very rare, usually, it's one awakened in a thousand people. It's just that he was born into an extraordinary family. Soon after that, rumors and stories quickly spread all over the place that the son of the strongest climber in the world can't or couldn't awaken and that he's an embarrassment to their Family's name . Not too long after that, his father "Joseph Excelsis" caught wind of the matter, and Deus was immediately asked to head into his father's office and there, he was told that they do not have a choice but to kick him out of the family because they don't need a weakling on their household and that this was the only way to save him from the pressure and burden. Deus was deeply frustrated by what he heard and wondered about in deep thoughts as he couldn't believe what he heard, no, he couldn't even imagine that the words he didn't want to hear were coming from his father's mouth. Deus was ordered to live in seclusion in another country until he can awaken as a player and climber of the tower. After his mother "Diana Excelsis" heard about the situation, she instantly ran to her husband's office and strongly opposed her husband's decision and they ended up having a heated conversation but it all stopped when Deus suddenly spoke and said that he agrees to leave the family and live in another country as long as they pay for all of his expenses. Both of his parents were surprised by his statement, his father quickly responded and said that he'll arrange everything including where he'll stay, his mother started to cry and screamed: "No I will never let my son!" and quickly turned around facing her husband and continued saying: "our only son to leave this household never!". Joseph couldn't respond to his wife's opinion as he didn't know what to say. His mother quickly ran at Deus and hugged him while crying as if she'll never let go of him, but Deus also hugged his mother and said that everything will be alright and that he will visit from time to time. His mother tried to stubbornly insist but Deus hugged his mother tightly again to not let this be a bigger problem than it already is and promised that he will come back after he gets stronger. His mother finally calmed down and she jokingly said that she will whack his ass if he doesn't keep his promise, and they both laughed at each other painfully while hiding both of their sadness. After he got all that he needed for his flight, he was all ready to leave but he visited his father's office and knocked, then came inside to say his goodbyes but his father did not even respond, so Deus stared at his father for a while then slowly left his father's office and sighed heavily with disappointment as he walked in the hallway. The car was waiting and prepared to leave and some guards were all ready to escort him to the airport when suddenly three cars also entered their estate and there arrived his grandfather who also came to say his goodbyes. As the only son of his parents, he didn't have any siblings or other people to play with when he was growing up as a kid but his grandfather was always there to okay with him, he was like a best friend growing up, he may look pretty scary and serious but he was a warm and a playful person. His grandfather "Rex Magnus Excelsis" quickly approached him and immediately apologized to his grandson that he cannot be of any help to stop him from leaving the house as the decision was made solely by his father Joseph and his granddad didn't have anything to do with this. Deus nodded and immediately said: "It's okay grandpa it was also due to my weakness and lack of strength that I'm in this situation now, I can only blame myself for it".Rex was startled by the little boy's answer and he thought to himself that this boy grew well, if only he was awakened. Deus quickly said his goodbyes to his grandfather and sends his best regards to his mother that didn't come to bid farewell because she couldn't take seeing her son leave and to his father that also didn't come for god knows whatever reason. He waved one last time to his grandfather and Rex Magnus smiled and nodded as Deus was getting inside the door and when he was finally inside the car, he let out another heavy sigh and then instructed the driver to drive and go... They arrived at the airport shortly after and then waited for the scheduled plane to arrive... And after a bit of waiting, the plane was ready and it was already time to go... When he got on the plane and sat down on his seat, he stared blankly at his window as there were a lot of things going on in his head... Before he realized it, they had already taken off and were already flying, Deus cleared his mind off a bit in the plane then he let out a big yawn because he was exhausted from the events that occurred today, and before he realized it, he was already falling asleep... After about an hour and a half on the flight, he was woken up by the huge commotion and passengers on the airplane were in a state of panic, and when he came to, it was already too late... BANG!!!... BOOoM!!!... BOOM!!!... CRASH!!!... -End of chapter one?
