Aiden's POV
After Ainslee and I consummated our bond last night and I got a good night's sleep, I decided I was going to Fire Moon to have one more chance to talk with Ma. It pained me greatly that just as I was getting my mother back in my life, something so trivial could put yet another boulder between us. But the way Ma treated my mate yesterday was uncalled for and something I absolutely will not stand for.
Ainslee is apprehensive about going back to Fire Moon after how bad things went yesterday. When I told her this morning I wanted to go back and try to work things out, she supported me.
"She's going to be furious when she sees your mark." Ainslee said as we drove there.
