CHAPTER ONE
"Please be careful Ariadne, that part of town isn't all that safe” Allison's worried voice could be heard from the other side of the phone.
“You keep on saying this, forgetting the fact that in a full grown adult who can easily call the cops if anything goes wrong” Ariadne said with a little laugh.
“I know that but I still can't help but worry….”
“Miss we have arrived” the voice of the sales lady filtered into their conversation making Allison pause.
“I'm going to hang up now, once I'm done seeing the apartment I will come over to your place” Ariadne said and hung up.
Ariadne got down from the car with the sales girl who was taking her around the apartment she wanted to buy and the both of them got into the elevator.
The apartment was in a large building that also housed similar apartments which other families lived in.
Ariadne liked the place but she still had some doubts.
Firstly, the building was in a slightly unsafe part of the town and secondly all her friends and everyone she knew lived a decent distance away from the place.
“You should head down na, I will be joining you soon” the sales girl said to Ariadne.
Ariadne shrugged and walked towards the elevator, to her dismay, she found out that the buttons on the elevator was placed high up than her short arms could reach, just as she was struggling to press the buttons for the ground floor, a domineering scent of Cider and mint that filled her nose.
A handsome tall man walked into the elevator, dazzling Ariadne eyes.
She didn't know if it was because of way the sleeves of his shirt were rolled up showcasing his muscular arms or was it the expensive looking watch that wrapped snugly on his powerful wrists or maybe the fact that he was such an agonizingly handsome man.
But all Ariadne knew was that she had fallen in love with the man
“I'm definitely taking this apartment!” She mumbled to herself.
The fact
THREE WEEKS AGO
“I think you should ponder more on this Miss Wellington, your husband…”
“Soon to be Ex Mrs Wellington, I don't want to have anything to do with that name anymore” Ariadne said coldly , stirring the coffee that was almost getting cold.
She and the lawyer who represented her ex husband were both in a cafe close.to the law court and it was already after court hours.
“Uhmm…Miss Ariadne, my client wants you to rethink your decisions about the divorce, he promised to overlook your past mistakes if you come back to him” the lawyer said with a serious face, pushing forward a stack of paper towards Ariadne.
Ariadne scoffed at him “you must be so thick skinned saying all that rubbish without an iota of shame, I should be the one overlooking his last mistakes! He is a scumbag whose existence was a mistake!” Ariadne yelled angrily.
This time, more than half of the customers were staring at the both of them, wondering what the ruckus was all about.
Ariadne picked up the paper and went through it, once she was done she threw it at the lawyer “I should pretend that Daniel isn't his illegitimate child and train him like a good mother, I'm not allowed to work anymore?, these clauses here gives me more reasons to go on with the divorce “ Ariadne sneered, she stood up from the chair and walked out of the cafe leaving the lawyer in an embarrassed state.

“I'm so happy for you, I can't believe you finally got rid of that leech of a man” Allison said happily immediately Ariadne opened the door of her apartment.
She handed over a bouquet of tulip flowers to Ariadne.
Ariadne cracked a smile at her and opened the door wider motioning for her to get in.
Allison walked in,looking around the place.
“I thought you wouldn't keep the house, what made you change your mind?” she asked slowly.
“I haven't changed my mind yet, just that I haven't seen the right apartment yet, you know… I need to consider a lot of things …like access to the mall and other stuffs” Ariadne said, she rinsed a mug and filled it with cold water from the water dispenser before handing it over to Allison.
“Thank you” Allison thanked, gulping down the water.
“How is Micheal and the boys?” Ariadne asked, while keeping the mug on the kitchen sink.
“They are fine…, just looking forward to visiting you, especially Donald, he keeps on ranting about his Aunty Ariadne, it's a mystery how children mysteriously fall in love with you” Allison huffed, slouching on the couch in Ariadne's sitting room.
Ariadne winked at her “that's why I'm a professional babysitter …ohh talking of babysitting jobs, I got a call from someone, she wants me to babysit her 5 years old daughter and the pay is good too” Ariadne informed.
Allison thought for some before nodding “I think you need something to keep yourself busy especially after the divorce, you know keep your mind off somethings….” Allison trailed off.
It had been almost 2 weeks since Ariadne divorced her cheating jerk of a husband and still her friends believed that she hadn't moved on and they really have every right to think so.
When Ariadne and Jayson got married, it was the talk of the town , the two of them were so much in love with each other that they were even used by other as set standards and role models so it came as a surprise to everyone when it came out that Jayson was actually cheating and not only that, he had an illegitimate child who was already 4 years old, a year more than his marriage of 3 years with Ariadne.
The divorce was expected but what wasn't expected was that it would be an incredibly dirty one that had even made it to the news.
Her previous marriage experience had probably ruined the way she viewed love and marriage.
This was exactly what everyone thought but boy…were they wrong.
