Chapter Three

432 Words
I walk into the apartment dripping wet and meet Bailey cooking dinner. She sees me and a worried expression crosses her face.. "What happened?" she says coming to help me take my jacket off.. "Rain obviously". "I know but why?" "Well..." I say and narrate my whole day to her as I dry off. By the time I'm done , she's laughing so hard there's tears in her eyes. "It's not funny Bailey".I say annoyed that she finds my predicament funny. "Yes it is. What were you thinking? That you were in one of those bad ass movies?" she asks laughing even harder. "Ha ha! Very funny". Rolling my eyes I go into the kitchen to get something to eat. "But like how cute was he?" "Urghh! Bailey, I don't care how cute he was. He was just a boy". Bailey's face drops and she gives me a disapproving look. "You know, you ought to stop being grumpy. Like, what did the male population do to you?" "Nothing!" I shout, quickly putting a hand over my mouth after realizing what I just did. Bailey just stands and stares at me in shock. "I'm sorry". She murmurs and heads to her bedroom. **** Later that evening, I decide to go for a jog so I could give Bailey some space. I really didn't mean to lash out. I'm just so tired of everyone thinking they have to do something about my single life. I love being single. Okay who I kidding , I hate it. But that doesn't mean I'm ready to fall into the arms of any guy that comes my way. Speaking of falling into arms, I just landed in one. "I'm so sorry". A voice says. "Nah it's okay". I don't look up cause I'm still tryna figure out how I tripped. He, by his voice, steadies me to stand and I finally look up. "Hi I'm Alex". He extends his arm and I shake it. "Cathy". He smiles. God he's hot. And he's in a suit. Woah, he's a business guy. Now I feel even more unserious. I need to get a job... "Are you okay?" he asks with this cute smirk. Why do they all have to be good at smirking.. "Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry for bumping into you. Had my head in the clouds". "It's alright, at least I got to bump into a beautiful lady. He says raking my body with his eyes. Is he flirting ? What's wrong with men today? "urgh.. Bye". I say and dash off.. I don't need a guy right now.
