Lysander:
“Oh baby. f**k, I am cumming.” Moving my hips against Cathey, my chosen mate, I grunted as I pulled away from her.
“The f**k, Alpha?" She asked over her shoulder and then turned to look at me. “Did you just fake an orgasm?” She asked, not shocked since that wasn't the first time I was doing that.
She pulled the empty condom from my shaft and lifted it in the air as she looked through it. “I can't believe I am actually true!” She threw it under my nose and moved off the bed.
“What happened, Lysander? Ever since you came from, I don't know where you've been acting different. Did I do something wrong? Don't I turn you on anymore?” She tied her bathrobe around her waist and sat on the edge of the bed.
Without responding, I crawled out of the bed and arched my foot in my indoor slipper. “I am just tired, Cathy.”
“Cathy?” She chuckled, then pinched her nose. “Do you realize you've been calling me by my name ever since you came back? What happened to honey, baby, or sweetheart?” She asked.
“Cathy, please.” I responded with lines of tiredness spreading across my forehead. “Can we not do this again?” I pulled her for her hug, planting a kiss on her hair.
I closed my eyes and sniffed in her blueberry scent, hoping it would turn me on like it used to, but nothing happened.
Pulling away from her, I sat on the bed and held my head in my hands.
“Should we see a doctor?” She asked, and I jerked up my head to look at her.
“Doctor?” My eyes narrowed, my brows knitting in confusion.
“Well, not entirely a doctor.” She shifted closer to me and held my hand in hers. “It's a therapist. A marriage therapist. She may be able to get us back to where we were.”
By getting us back to where we are, I knew she meant before I disappeared during the shifting night.
“I don't see any reason to do that. Like I said, I am tired from work, and I will get back to my usual self in no time.” My words didn't even sound convincing to me as much as they did not to her.
Letting go of my hand, she moved further, her back on me. When she talked again, there was raw sadness and pain in her voice. “You've been saying that for three months. Is there someone else, Lysander?"
“What? No! Why would you think about something like that?” I asked, not liking a bit of how I made her feel.
I felt horrible.
Cathy was chosen for me by my parents. I knew they saw something in her, and that's why they arranged our marriage.
I don't know if forever exists, but I was planning on staying with her forever; after all, I respect elders choices, and she was my parents choice.
“Then tell me what's wrong. We are husband and wife for goods sake, Lysander. Just spill out what is bothering you, and we'll solve it together.” She wrapped her hand around my shoulder and gently massaged the spot she could reach.
“I …” I swallowed, praying inwardly that someone could come in and save me from that conversation.
How was I going to tell her that a human, a man, actually was making me like that?
I was thankfully that he got to save me that night, but about what happened between us after that, was it fortunate or unfortunate?
I hated him for sticking into my head even after that long.
I despised him for letting his scent stay with me.
Only the moon gods knew how much energy I'd used, forcing myself not to go back there and have him moaning in my arms.
“Look, it's working.” Cathy's excited voice from beside me jarred me out of my thoughts.
I followed her gaze and saw her holding my hard c**k in her hands.
“Damn.” I swallowed hard and forced a smile on my face.
There was no way I was going to tell her I got hard thinking about that beautiful doctor.
A knock echoed at the door, stopping Cathy from whatever she was doing.
Angrily, she rose from the bed and went to answer the door.
While she was on it, I walked into the bath with the doctor's image lingering in my head.
Standing under the shower, I held my d**k in my hands and glided up and down.
I could still feel his touch. The roughness of his hand against it was what I had never forgotten.
“You could have let him touch you.” My wolf, sure he had rolled his eyes while saying this, mumbled from the back of my head.
What could I say? I wanted more that night.
I wanted to f**k his brain out. I wanted to hear him moaning until he lost his voice. I wanted to bite him so hard, marking him and making him mine forever.
However, I didn't have the courage to do that.
When he went to answer the door, I escaped through the window, making sure I didn't leave any of my traces behind.
My wolf was furious, but that was the best decision I made, or was it?
“Oliver is here for you.” Cathy said from the door. Oliver was my beta.
Wrapping a towel around my waist, I walked out to see him.
“I got what you wanted, Alpha.” He handed over a brown envelope to me that I snatched out of his hands.
“Is everything okay?” He asked worriedly as he made himself comfortable on the sofa.
“Why?” I asked without lifting my head to look at him.
“Cathy seemed mad. I thought you two had fought.”
“Why would you think that?” I asked, my eyes still glued to the envelope that I was failing to open. “What kind of glue did you use on this envelope? f*****g hard glue!” I clicked my tongue in annoyance and impatiently ripped it open.
Pictures fell on the floor. I picked one where the person captured was smiling at the camera so innocently that I or anyone, if they were to look, would think he...
“Are you sure about this?” I asked as I felt anger and betrayal fueling inside of me. I crumpled the picture in my hands and threw it where God knows.
“What's that, baby?” Stepping into the living room, with her bathrobe still covering her body, Cathy bent where I had thrown that picture and picked it up.
“Who are this?” She asked, staring hard at the picture. Her lips curled to form a roundish shape, her eyes thinning as she recognized him. “It's Javan. Your first cousin. It's been long since he's been around. Is everything okay?“
“Everything is okay, baby.“ I responded as I walked and stopped in front of her. Cupping her cheeks, I planted a quick kiss on her forehead before turning to face Oliver. “Ask Nathan to prepare the car. We are going to Belvedere.” I demanded.
“But why?” He asked, picking up the other pictures on the floor and returning them into the envelope. “We have no business with humans, do we?“
“Are you going to question me now, Oliver?” I asked, losing my temper, and he lowered his head in submission.
“Good. Now have the car f*****g prepared!” He nodded and rushed out of the house.
I can't believe someone who I considered a brother would betray me to that extent.
Why did he send rogues to attack me during the shifting night?
Although every piece of evidence pointed to him, I didn't want to believe knowing information can be omitted sometimes.
“I have to interrogate him in person...
