Christmas love

Maria I love my job, but my mom is driving me nuts. I will tell you why. I told my mom that I had a boyfriend. When I actually don’t, she keeps on asking me when she will meet him. But I actually don’t have one. The reason I told her I had one was because she would not stop trying to set me up on dates, so now I have to try to find someone to pretend to be my boyfriend. Theo” Mrs. Stuart, will you please come to my office?" Maria:” I will be right there sir.” I got up and walked to the big oak door and knocked on the door, then waited for him to answer. Theo:"Come in.” Marie” Mr. Strand, you need to see me?” Theo:”Yes, I need you to join me for a meeting in an hour.” When he said that he needed me for a meeting in an hour, I panicked because my flight was leaving in two hours. Maria” I’m sorry Mr. Strand, but I can’t be at that meeting.” Theo:” And why not?” Maria:” My flight back home leaves in two hours, and I was just about to leave.” Theo I was trying to think of a way to keep Maria at the office over Christmas. Then I got the idea to tell her that I had a meeting in an hour, because I knew that she was about to leave. Theo” Mrs. Stuart, will you please come to my office?” I was hoping that she would still be at the office. When she answered, my hope was that I could get her to stay back because Christmas was back. Maria:” I will be right there sir.” She always called me Sir and I have no clue why, when I told her to call Theo. Then there was a silent knock on the door. Theo” come in.” As she walked in, I couldn’t help but stare at how she always dressed perfectly for her job. I need Maria to stay behind. Maria”Mr.Strand, need me?” She said that every thought I had of her reappeared in my head, but I shook them away. Theo:”Yes, I need you to join me for a meeting in an hour. I saw a look of panic on her face, but she managed to keep her composure. Which is very impressive. Maria” I’m sorry Mr. Strand, but I couldn’t be at that meeting.” When she said that, I was surprised, because every time I said that I needed her to stay over Christmas she would say yes. Theo:” Why not?” Maria:” My flight back home leaves in two hours, and I was just about to leave.” Maria I was standing there nervous about what he was going to say. But what he said actually surprised me. Theo:” Okay, you should go.” I was about to leave, but then an idea popped into my head, but I didn’t know if it would be a good idea. But what the heck, if this gets me fired, then okay, I can always find another place to work, so here we go. Maria:” Mr. Strand, could I ask you a small favor if you don’t mind?” When I asked my question, he just looked up at me for a minute and then answered. Theo:” What is it?” Maria:” Do you mind if we sit on the couches?” He got up and sat on the couch, so I followed and sat across from him, and we just stared at each other for a good 5 minutes. Theo,” Go ahead and tell me what your favor is.” Maria” well, when I first started working here my mom tried to set me up on dates. But to get her to stop, I told her I already had a boyfriend, but that was a complete lie. This year she told me I have to come home no matter what and I have to bring my boyfriend so she can meet him. But like I said, I lied to her, so I need someone to pretend to be my boyfriend.” He just started at me and said nothing. I wanted to ask if he was okay, but I thought otherwise about asking, so I just left him and got up to leave, then he answered. Theo” so basically you need someone to be your fake boyfriend for Christmas.” Maria” yeah, something like that.” Theo:” Well, I will have to think about it and tell you when I have my answer.” Maria” I will be leaving now. Remember if you do come you need to be at the airport in less than an hour.”
